2. Description of the Related Art In a printing apparatus of the type that uses roll-shaped recording paper, in order to prevent waste of paper, the recording paper is fed out and cut at the end of printing, and then the paper front end is rewound once to a predetermined standby position. When the next print command is issued, printing is started from that position. However, in such a method, since the leading end of the recording paper is held in a state of being sandwiched between the paper feed roller and the platen roller, there is a curl tendency here, and the recording papers after the cut discharge are separated from each other. It was a cause of disturbing the stacking.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a side cross-sectional view showing the main part of the printing apparatus according to the present invention, showing the basic operation in order according to (A) to (C). In the figure, 1 is a platen roller, 2 is a paper feed roller, 3 is a print head, 4 and 5 are cutters, and 6 is roll-shaped recording paper. Further, FIG. 2 is a block configuration diagram showing a connection relationship by each of these components, and printing sent from a signal processing unit 7 including a CPU or the like, which is provided in a computer, a word processor, and various other information processing devices. Based on a command, a print stop command, etc., the driver 8 causes each of the above-mentioned components to perform a predetermined processing operation. A plurality of detectors 9 for detecting the presence / absence of the recording paper 6 are provided at appropriate places on the primary side and the secondary side of the paper feed roller 2 (including the secondary sides of the cutters 4 and 5). The location of the leading edge of the paper, the condition of paper shortage or paper jam, and the like are determined by the signals from these detectors 9.

FIG. 1A shows a situation in which printing is started in response to a print command. As shown in the figure, at the start of printing, the leading edge of the recording paper 6 is at a position (see arrow A) slightly protruding to the secondary side of the paper feed roller 2, and printing is started and continued. For example, the recording paper 6 is sequentially delivered as the paper feed roller 2 and the platen roller 1 rotate, and is ejected to the outside of the printing apparatus through the vertical gap between the cutters 4 and 5. When the print command from the signal processing unit 7 is released or a print stop command is issued, immediately after that, the driver 8 continuously rotates the paper feed roller 2 and the platen roller 1 for a predetermined number of rotations or for a predetermined time, and the recording paper 6 At the end of printing, a portion facing the print head 3 and a predetermined size following the portion are sent to the secondary side of the cutters 4 and 5, and in this state, the cutter is moved as shown in FIG. The recording paper 6 is cut by activating 4 and 5.

FIG. 1C shows the operation of the cutters 4 and 5 immediately after the operation is completed. As shown in the figure, the driver 8 returns the cutter 4 to the standby position, and at the same time, reversely rotates the paper feed roller 2 and the platen roller 1 so that the next recording sheet can be held at the cutter position (see arrow B). The recording paper 6 is rewound until the front end of the paper 6 is positioned at a position slightly protruding to the secondary side of the paper feed roller 2 (see arrow A). Then, if there is no next print command from the signal processing unit 7 even if a predetermined time has passed in this state,
The driver 8 then positively rotates the paper feed roller 2 and the platen roller 1, until the leading edge of the recording paper 6 reaches the cutter position (see arrow B) or its vicinity again.
The recording paper 6 is sent out. By doing this, the recording paper 6
The curl habit is prevented from being generated by the paper feed roller 2 or the platen roller 1 at the leading edge of the paper.

FIG. 3 is a flow chart showing the basic operation of the printer of the present invention. Step 10
In Nos. 0 to 108, when the front end of the recording paper 6 is at the position of the arrow A at the time of receiving the print command, the printing is started as it is, and after the printing is completed, the recording paper 6 is cut and ejected.
It shows the process until the timer 10 is activated, and the detailed operating conditions thereof have already been described. Further, steps 109 to 111 show the operation when there is no next print command even after a lapse of a predetermined time from the start of the timer 10. In this case, once the arrow A position is reached. The paper end of the rewound recording paper 6 is again fed to the position of the arrow B so that the curl habit does not occur at the paper end. About 5 seconds are expected to be set for the time-up in this case. When the next printing command is met while the leading edge of the recording paper 6 has been fed to the position of the arrow B in this way, when the next print command is met, the detector 9 or the like judges this. After the recording paper 6 is rewound so that the front end of the paper is at the arrow A position, the next printing is started (see step 112).

Steps 200 to 205 shown in FIG. 4 show another operation mode in the printing apparatus of the present invention. Even after the printing is completed and the cutters 4 and 5 are activated, the recording paper 6 is wound. It is prepared for the next print command as it is without returning it. If there is the next print command, the paper feed roller 2 and the platen roller 1 are always detected without detecting the paper leading edge position. Printing is started after the reverse rotation for rewinding is performed. Therefore, in this case, the timer 10 is unnecessary.

As can be understood from the above description, according to the printing apparatus of the present invention, the curl habit attached to the roll-shaped recording paper is shifted not by the leading end of the paper but by a predetermined dimension toward the rear side. Since the paper is transferred to a different place, the paper leading end hardly interferes with the already stacked recording papers at the time of cutting and discharging, and smooth and clean stacking can be obtained. In addition, the curl habit itself becomes smaller than in the case where it occurs at the leading end of the roll paper, and the piled up as a whole is in a beautiful state with less waviness, which is more effective.
