する方法であって、接続する両材端部の熱融着させる範

補強複合管の接合方法。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、硬質ポリ塩化ビニル
等の熱可塑性合成樹脂層により形成した管(以下、原管
という)の外周にガラス繊維等の補強繊維と熱可塑性合
成樹脂よりなる繊維強化樹脂層(以下、FRP層とい
う)を設けた補強複合管の接合方法に関するものであ
る。

【従来の技術】上記補強複合管の接続は、管端面に露出
したFRP層に管内の流体が侵入し種々の弊害を発生さ
せる危険があり、この対策を必要としていた。
【0003】そして、従来の補強複合管の接合は、公知
のTS接合法( Taper sized Solv-ent weding method
)による冷間接合方法を採用することが多かった。
【0004】図3は、従来のTS接合方法による補強複
合管を管継手に接合・接続する工程図であり、同図を参
照して従来の補強複合管の接合方法を説明する。
【0005】工程S11:補強複合管1の管端部分の表
層を切断しFRP層2を露出させる。
【0006】工程S12:FRP層2をバーナー等で加
熱して剥離し原管3を露出させる。
【0007】工程S13:露出させた原管の表面を整形
仕上し、速乾性の接着剤を塗る。
【0008】工程S14:原管3を公知のTS接合法用
の管継手4のテーパー穴に一気に差し込み回転させてか
ら、静止して接着完了を待つ。
【0009】工程S15:止水のため、接合部分の原管
3の表面と管継手4の端面とを熱可塑性合成樹脂で溶接
する。
【0010】工程S16:FRP層2を露出させた部
分、上記溶接した部分の表面を平滑に仕上げる。
【0011】工程S17:前記表面仕上した部分に手作
業によりFRP層を形成して補強し仕上げを行う。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記従来の接合方法
は、管継手4の受け口寸法に対応した長さだけのFRP
層2を剥離する必要があり、剥離寸法は口径が大きくな
るほど長く広くなり、FRP層2の加熱剥離に多くの労
力と時間がかかる。そしてFRP層2を加熱剥離するさ
い原管2の熱可塑性合成樹脂層に焦げや変形が生じ、接
合できなくなったり、TS接合本来の強度が失われる場
合がある。更にTS接合後に補強複合管と管継手端面と
を熱可塑性合成樹脂で溶接する必要があり、時間と手数
を要し面倒である等の問題があった。
【0013】この発明は、上記従来技術の問題点を解消
するために成されたもので、補強複合管のFRP層を剥
離する手数等を軽減し、安定した接合・接着強度を有す
る補強複合管の接合方法を提供することを目的とするも
のである。

【課題を解決するための手段】このため、この発明に係
る補強複合管の接合方法は、熱可塑性合成樹脂層により
形成した原管の外周に繊維強化樹脂層を設けた補強複合
管を熱可塑性合成樹脂層を有する配管材に熱融着により
接合・接続する方法であって、接続する両材端部の熱融
着させる範囲の熱可塑性合成樹脂層を露出させる工程
と、該露出させた両材端部の熱可塑性合成樹脂層を突き
合わせ加熱して融着接合する工程とにより構成したこと
によって、前記の目的を達成しようとするものである。

【作用】以上の構成は、接合する両材の端部を突き合わ
せ熱融着により接合することにより、原管の熱可塑性合
成樹脂層を露出させる必要面積は従来より大幅に減少
し、また広い面積のFRP層を剥離するための加熱によ
り原管に焦げや変形を生じさせていた従来のような問題
はなくなり、熱融着接合が有する本来の強度をもった接
続をすることができる。なお止水のために必要としてい
た接合後の熱可塑性合成樹脂による溶接は不要であり、
工程を簡略化することができる。
【0016】そして、補強複合管と補強複合管との接合
に加えて補強複合管と管継手等との接続もでき、しかも
接続部分の段差をなくすことができる。

【実施例】以下、この発明に係る補強複合管の接合方法
を実施例により説明する。本実施例は、硬質ポリ塩化ビ
ニル等の熱可塑性合成樹脂層により形成した原管の外周
にガラス繊維等の補強繊維と熱可塑性合成樹脂よりなる
FRP層が形成してある補強複合管を対象とし、管継手
を使用せず補強複合管と補強複合管との端部を、或は上
記構成の補強複合管と熱可塑性合成樹脂層を有する管継
手等の配管材の端部とを、ヒータフェイスを使用し突き
合わせて加熱し融着させるバット融着接合方法により接
続する方法である。
【0018】図1は、この発明の一実施例の工程図であ
り、同図を参照して一実施例の接合方法を説明する。
【0019】工程S1:接続する補強複合管の端部の熱
融着させる範囲の表層を切断する。
【0020】工程S2:前記端部のFRP層2を剥離し
原管3を露出させる。
【0021】工程S3:露出させた原管の表面を整形仕
上する。
【0022】工程S4:接続する両材の原管端部にバッ
ト融着接合用のヒータフェイスを添わせて端部を突き合
わせ、ヒータフェイスに通電して加熱し融着接合させ
る。
【0023】工程S5:FRP層2を露出させた部分、
上記融着させた部分の表面を平滑に仕上げる。
【0024】工程S6:前記表面仕上げした面に手作業
によりFRP層を形成して補強し仕上げを行う。
【0025】図2は、前記工程S4で行う加熱融着接合
作業の細部工程図である。工程S41:補強複合管1
a,1bの各端部は、FRP層2が剥離除去され熱可塑
性合成樹脂層により形成した原管3が露出し、かつヒー
タフェイス5の加熱面の形状に対応させたテーパー状に
面取り仕上がしてある。そしてヒータフェイス5を添わ
せて補強複合管1a,1bの端部を突き合わせる。
【0026】工程S42:ヒータフェイス5に通電し
て、突き合わせてた端部を加熱し融着接合させる。
【0027】上記工程S2で行うFRP層2を剥離する
範囲は極く僅か5mm〜15mmでよく、バーナー等で
加熱しての剥離でなく、管端部の面取りによって実施す
ることができる。
【0028】上記実施例は、補強複合管を補強複合管に
端部を融着して接合する実施例であるが、外径および肉
厚が補強複合管と等しく、かつ端面が全周にわたってF
RP補強がしてない管継手等、或は端面を面取りして熱
可塑性合成樹脂層を露出させた管継手等と補強複合管と
の端部を融着接合することも上記実施例工程に準じて実
施可能であることは勿論である。そして、接合部分表面
に段差を無くすることができる。
【0029】バット融着に使用するヒータフェイス5
は、熱可塑性合成樹脂部分のみ加熱できる形状のものが
好ましい。
【0030】[他の実施例]上記実施例の工程S3にお
いて、管端をテーパー状に仕上げしたのは、融着接合し
た外面に生ずるビード6aを小さくするためでもあり、
必ずしもテーパー状に仕上げしなくてもよい。
【0031】上記工程S6の、手作業によりFRP層を
形成して補強する作業は、融着接合した外面に生ずるビ
ード6aおよび内面に生ずるビード6bを除去したため
に実施した作業であり、ビード6a、6bを除去する必
要が無い等、強度的に問題がないときは、工程S6の手
作業によりFRP層を形成して補強する作業は省略して
もよい。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように、この発明によれ
ば、接合する両材の端部を突き合わせ熱融着により接合
することにより、原管の熱可塑性合成樹脂層を露出させ
る必要面積は従来より大幅に減少し、また広い面積のF
RP層を剥離するための加熱により原管に焦げや変形を
生じさせていた従来のような問題はなくなり、熱融着接
合が有する本来の強度をもった接続を実施することがで
きる。なお止水のために必要としていた接合後の熱可塑
性合成樹脂による溶接は不要であり、工程を簡略化する
ことができる。
【0033】そして、補強複合管と補強複合管との接合
に加えて補強複合管と管継手等との接続もでき、しかも
接続部分の段差をなくすことができる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 熱可塑性合成樹脂層により形成した原管
    の外周に繊維強化樹脂層を設けた補強複合管を熱可塑性
    合成樹脂層を有する配管材に熱融着により接合・接続す
    る方法であって、接続する両材端部の熱融着させる範囲
    の熱可塑性合成樹脂層を露出させる工程と、該露出させ
    た両材端部の熱可塑性合成樹脂層を突き合わせ加熱して
    融着接合する工程とよりなることを特徴とする補強複合
    管の接合方法。
