Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate a wiring work when a plurality of outdoor units are located in juxtaposition and to cope with the increase the scale of an outdoor unit in terms of strength without increasing the number of kinds of drawing molds by a method wherein at least angles in a U-shape in cross section are additionally located under the bottom plate of a casing. CONSTITUTION:A compressor and a heat exchanger 2 and two blowers 3 are arranged in a casing 1 of an outdoor unit. When wiring of the outdoor unit is effected in common through a bundle wire system, a pair of angles 6 having a U-shaped part in cross section are previously secured to the outside of a bottom plate 14 of the casing 1 by weld. Thus, when the angle 6 is mounted on the bottom plate 14, it has a part 6a vertical to the bottom plate 14 and a space 6b is formed therewith, and through utilization of the space 6b, a bundle wire 5 to each outdoor unit can be wired. When the outdoor units are formed throughout length ranging between both ends of the bottom plate 14, the angles additionally perform a role to reinforce the strength of the bottom plate 14 when the size of the outdoor unit is increased and weight is increased, increase mechanical strength provided by the bottom plate 14, and prevent the occurrence of a trouble, e.g. the increase of a kind of a drawing mould.

In recent years, air conditioners have been increasing their air conditioning capacity and becoming multi-type, in which multiple indoor units are connected to one outdoor unit. Units are now placed side by side. A plurality of such outdoor units are often installed close to each other in parallel, as shown in FIG. 7, in order to make effective use of the installation space and to improve the efficiency of construction and maintenance work.

In the bundled wire method, the wires of other outdoor units are also passed through the housing 1 of one outdoor unit at the same time.
As shown in the figure, common holes 12a and 12b are formed in the opposing side plates 11 of each case l, and the bundled wires 5 are inserted through the common holes 12a and 12b.
12b are sequentially passed through, branched from the bundled wire 5 in each corresponding unit, and wired to each terminal board 13 in the casing l. The bundle wires 5 pass through the inside of the casing 1 of each outdoor unit, and there are few parts that are directly visible from the outside, so there is no problem in terms of appearance.

Of course, it is also possible to install separate wiring ducts on the outside of the sides of these outdoor units without passing the common bundled wire 5 through the outdoor units, but this would require the addition of a new special duct, and Attachment to the side plate was not an effective method because it was unfavorable in terms of appearance.

Furthermore, as the capacity of air conditioners increases, it is inevitable that outdoor units will become larger. Since the bottom plate 14 is manufactured by drawing, the number of types of drawing molds increases as the air conditioning capacity increases, and new reinforcing molds are added in the center etc. to cope with the increase in the load on the bottom plate 14 due to the increase in size. It became necessary to install a crosspiece.
