Bulk melt polymerization has been most commonly used to polymerize polyesters such as polyethylene terephthalate. However, in this method, the melt viscosity increases as the molecular weight of the polyester increases, and a large stirring power is required. Furthermore, as the melt viscosity increases, heat transfer from the walls of the condensation vessel deteriorates, making local deterioration likely to occur due to heating. In addition, it has several disadvantages, such as it takes time to extract the polymer and the degree of polymerization differs between the early and late stages of polymer extraction.

The present invention was completed based on the discovery that a method of dispersing a specific grafted polysiloxane in the form of fine particles using a medium in a silicone oil that is non-reactive with a solvent is an extremely effective method.

Any substance can be used, and specific examples include aliphatic hydrocarbons such as nonadecane, phenols such as m-cresol, p-chlorophenol, xylenol, and phenol, penzyl alcohol, nitrobenzene, and tetrahydrocarbons. Examples include chloroethane/phenol, which can be used alone or in combination. When these solvents are mixed with BHT or its initial condensate and heated to a temperature of 150 ° C. or higher, it becomes a substantially uniform solution, and BHT or its initial condensate can be further efficiently atomized.
It helps the diffusion of ethylene glycol to the interface of BHT or its initial condensate particles and greatly contributes to its highly efficient polymerization.

℃で重合するのが好ましい。 The grafted polysiloxane used in carrying out the present invention is necessary for dispersing BHT or its initial condensate in silicone oil in the form of fine particles and maintaining a good dispersion state. The trunk is made of polysiloxane and the branches are made of acrylic polymer. This grafted polysiloxane is produced by, for example, condensing an organosilane with a functional group-containing silane, such as an alkylene alkoxysilane having a vinyl group, to form a polysiloxane containing a functional group such as a vinyl group in the side chain, and then producing an acrylic acid ester. kind,
By graft copolymerizing methacrylic acid esters, a polysiloxane in which a (meth)acrylic polymer is graft-polymerized on the side chain can be obtained. When synthesizing polysiloxane, cyclic polysiloxane, especially cyclic dimethylpolysiloxane with 3 to 8 repeating units, is used as the main raw material, and one alkoxy group per molecule such as trimethylmethoxysilane or trimethylethoxysilane is added as a molecular weight regulator. The functional group-containing silane is a dialkoxysilane having a mercapto group such as dimethoxy-3-mercaptopropylmethylsilane, a dialkoxysilane having a vinyl group such as diethoxymethylvinylsilane, or r-glycid. It has a glycidyl group such as oxypropylmethyldiethoxysilane, and 1
100 to 150 using a silane compound having two alkoxy groups in the molecule and using a strong acid or base as a catalyst.
Preferably, the polymerization is carried out at .degree.

Hydroquinone is removed, and (meth)acrylic acid esters are added together with peroxide and reacted at a temperature of about 50 to 90°C to graft acrylic polymer branches onto the polyorganosiloxane trunk. As (meth)acrylic acid ester,
Preferable examples include methyl (meth)acrylate, ethyl (meth)acrylate, butyl (meth)acrylate, and benzyl (meth)acrylate.

That is, if these molecular weights are too small, the compatibility with polyester or silicone oil will be insufficient, and if the molecular weights are too large, there will be a high probability of thermal deterioration, leading to a decrease in dispersion stability during polyester polymerization. Therefore, it is not desirable.
Further, the weight ratio of polysiloxane to acrylic polymer in the grafted polysiloxane is appropriately selected in consideration of dispersion stability, etc., and is particularly preferably about 1:1.

A range of 80μ is preferable because it allows efficient diffusion of ethylene glycol from the fine particles to the fine particle interface, and from the viewpoint of stabilizing the emulsion of the fine particles of BHT or its initial condensate. However, it is desirable. Therefore, this organic emulsion should be heated at 150℃ or higher, especially at 180℃ or higher.
When heated to 300℃ and polymerized, the stirring torque does not increase even if the molecular weight increases, and the heat transfer from the pot wall remains unchanged.

に大きく寄与するものである。 Because a specific grafted polysiloxane is used as a dispersion medium for BHT or its initial condensate in silicone oil, the fine particles of BHT or its initial condensate are stably and uniformly dispersed in silicone oil. This also greatly contributes to promoting the polyesterification reaction.
