Deferred payment sales using magnetic stripe cards are becoming more common in company cafeterias and in-house shops. In this method, all employees are provided with a magnetic stripe card (personal recognition card) that records the employee's personal recognition symbol, and each time a product is sold, the sales amount is entered into a sales terminal using the personal recognition card. However, when paying a salary, the sales proceeds are deducted from the salary and collected. This method can be said to be reasonable in that it does not require the handling of cash or food tickets, but it is necessary to accurately record the card usage history and collect the sales proceeds, and it is necessary to develop a system for this purpose. Maintenance and management is a big burden on the management side. Additionally, from the user's perspective, there are several problems with the lack of detailed service, such as the inability to receive immediate response even if there is a question about the amount deducted from the salary. This problem can be solved to some extent by adopting a prepaid sales system using a so-called prepaid card. With prepaid cards, a predetermined amount is collected in advance at the time of card issuance, so when selling products, all the processing is completed by simply rewriting and updating the recorded balance of the prepaid card using the sales terminal. , system development and maintenance becomes relatively easy. There is little room for users to have doubts about the sales amount each time. However, a drawback of the prepaid sales method using prepaid cards is that products cannot be purchased if the card does not have enough balance. However, if cash and prepaid cards can be used together, as in the case of train ticket vending machines,
Although this problem can be solved to some extent, the system configuration and equipment used will become complicated, and the effectiveness of the cashless system will be halved. For this reason, in company cafeterias, etc., which are often heavily crowded with users concentrated in a short period of time, if food or drinks are refused due to insufficient balance on the card, the customer must buy a new card and wait at the end of the long line. This is extremely unpleasant for users as they have no choice but to wait in line again.

In the present invention, a personal recognition card is used in which recorded information can be rewritten and updated by a terminal device. A purchase limit (balance) is recorded on the personal recognition card, and when cash is inserted or a product is sold, the recorded balance is rewritten and updated. Therefore, the personal recognition card of the present invention is
It is different from, for example, a credit card or a bank card in that it records the limit amount that can be purchased, and it is different from a normal prepaid card in that the limit amount that can be purchased is rewritten and updated. A personal recognition card can be configured with a magnetic stripe card or a memory card (an integrated circuit card with only a memory function), but if the reliability of the card and the user's privacy are important, an active IC card can be used.
It is preferable to use a card (an integrated circuit card that has both calculation and memory functions). To enable the use of personal identification cards as described above,
The advance payment sales method of the present invention includes one or more currency exchange terminal devices for rewriting and updating the recorded balance of the personal recognition card by adding the amount of cash input, and subtracting the amount of sales of the product. At least one or more sales terminal devices for rewriting and updating the recorded balance of the personal recognition card are provided. The former currency exchange terminal device includes a means for inserting cash,
In addition to the means for counting the amount of cash inserted and the means for reading the recorded balance of the personal recognition card, the amount of input is added to the recorded balance of the personal recognition card and the total amount is recorded on the personal recognition card. At least a means for rewriting and updating the balance is provided. On the other hand, the latter sales terminal device has a means for inputting the sales amount of the product and a means for reading the recorded balance of the personal recognition card, as well as a means for subtracting the sales amount from the recorded balance of the personal recognition card and calculating the difference. At least a means for rewriting and updating the recorded balance of the personal recognition card shall be provided. Furthermore, the sales terminal device is programmed to rewrite and update the recorded balance of the personal recognition card using the difference even if the difference obtained by subtracting the sales amount from the recorded balance of the personal recognition card becomes a deficit. It is desirable to leave it there.

Personal recognition cards are similar to the conventional deferred payment sales method.
All users must be paid in advance. However, unless there is a separate special agreement between the card issuer and the user, the recorded balance of the personal recognition card shall, in principle, be zero. The user loads the provided personal recognition card into the exchange terminal and inserts an appropriate amount of cash according to the instructions of the terminal. In principle, the amount to be deposited may be left to the discretion of the user, but it is desirable to require it to be in denominations that are easy to identify, such as 1,000 yen bills or 10,000 yen bills. When you insert cash, the exchange terminal device executes the given program, counts the input amount, calculates the total amount of the amount and the recorded balance of the personal recognition card (zero at first), and then calculates the same total amount. The recorded balance of the personal recognition card is rewritten and updated. The user purchases a product by handling the personal recognition card updated in this way just like a prepaid card. When selling a product, the user or a store clerk loads a personal recognition card into a sales terminal and inputs a predetermined sales amount. Inputting the sales amount can be performed automatically by the user loading the personal recognition card in the case of an automatic terminal exclusively for individual products, or by using, for example, PO8.
In the case of a terminal, this is executed by a store clerk operating a barcode reader or keyboard. This type of input method itself is substantially the same as the method employed in conventional prepayment or deferred payment sales systems. When the sales amount is input, the sales terminal device executes the given program, reads the recorded balance of the personal recognition card, calculates the difference from the sales amount, and calculates the difference from the recorded balance of the personal recognition card. Rewrite and update. In this case, if the sales amount exceeds the recorded balance of the personal recognition card, the recorded balance that should be rewritten and updated will inevitably be in the red (minus). However, in the case of the present invention using one personal recognition card, Unlike the case of ordinary prepaid cards, since the identity of the card user is clear, products can be provided on credit even if the recorded balance of the card is in the red. Therefore, it is sufficient to return the personal recognition card to the user after noting on a display that the balance is in the red. If the user receives a warning that the balance is in the red or realizes that the balance is small, the user must load the personal recognition card into the currency exchange terminal and use enough money to clear the deficit balance. Add cash or enough cash to purchase future items into the device. If there is additional cash input,
The exchange terminal device executes the same program as in the first case, accounts for the additional input amount, calculates the total amount of this amount and the recorded balance of the personal recognition card, and then uses the same total amount to transfer the amount to the personal recognition card. Rewrite and update the record balance. In this way, one personal recognition card can be used repeatedly by inserting additional cash into one currency exchange terminal. However, in order to prevent unavailability of sales proceeds due to malicious advances, if there is not enough money invested to cover the deficit or if you continue to use the card with a deficit balance, the card cannot be used. It is desirable to program the currency exchange terminal and the vending terminal in advance to disable (for example, confiscate) the exchange terminal.

[Embodiment] FIG. 1 shows an embodiment in which the advance payment sales method according to the present invention is applied to a company cafeteria. In the figure, 1 is a workstation that functions as a host computer, and the workstation is connected via a data communication line 2 to a currency exchange terminal 3, an automatic terminal 4 dedicated to individual products,
An OS terminal 5 and a vending machine 6 are connected to each other. Note that although only one of each of these devices is shown except for the automatic terminal 4, it is of course possible to install as many as necessary depending on the scale of the five cafeterias. Also,
All the terminals (including the vending machine 6) may function as mere computer terminals or may function as intelligent terminals. Although not shown in detail, the exchange terminal 3 has a structure similar to a bank ATM terminal, and has an insertion slot for a personal recognition card 7, an insertion slot for cash 8, a display device, and the like. In addition to the cash accounting mechanism, the terminal also incorporates a personal recognition card reading mechanism, rewriting/updating mechanism, and other necessary mechanisms. It is programmed to calculate the total amount of the recorded balance of the personal recognition card and the input amount under the control of the workstation 1, and to rewrite and update the recorded balance of the personal recognition card with the same total amount. The automatic terminal 4 is a sales terminal device operated by the user himself/herself, and the code number, price, etc. of individual dishes are registered in advance, and when the user himself/herself loads the personal recognition card,
The sales amount is configured to be entered automatically. Also, the same terminal. In addition to the automatic sales amount input mechanism, it has a built-in personal identification card reading mechanism, rewriting/updating mechanism, and other necessary mechanisms, and under the control of the workstation 1, the recorded balance of the personal identification card and the sales amount can be It is programmed to calculate the difference and update the recorded balance of the personal identification card with the difference. Note that 9 is a communication controller for controlling data communication between the workstation 1 and the automatic terminal 4. The POS terminal 5 is a sales terminal device operated by a store clerk, and is equipped with an input mechanism such as a barcode reader and a numeric keypad.A store clerk receives a personal recognition card from the user and records the sales amount for each product. It is input using a barcode reader or numeric keypad. In addition to the above-mentioned input mechanism, this terminal has a built-in personal recognition card reading mechanism, rewriting/updating mechanism, and other necessary mechanisms as in the case of the automatic terminal 4, and is under the control of the workstation 1. It is programmed to calculate the difference between the recorded balance of the personal recognition card and the sales amount, and rewrite and update the recorded balance of the personal recognition card with the difference. In this embodiment, the card reader/writer 10 is used as a reading mechanism and a rewriting/updating mechanism for personal recognition cards. The automatic terminal 4 and the PO8 terminal 5 are terminal devices that are known per se.The former is often used, for example, when serving food and drinks in a cafeteria style, and the latter is used when selling a wide variety of products at a cash register, etc. It is often used when entering amounts in bulk. The vending machine 6 is an automatic dispensing device for food, etc. that uses a personal recognition card instead of cash, and although not shown in detail,
Personal recognition card loading mechanism, automatic sales amount input mechanism,
It incorporates a personal recognition card reading mechanism, a rewriting/updating mechanism, and other necessary mechanisms, and is configured to function as a sales terminal similar to the automatic terminal 4. This vending machine. When a user purchases food, etc. using a personal recognition card, the difference between the recorded balance of the personal recognition card and the sales amount is calculated under the control of workstation 1, and the difference is used to purchase food etc. from the personal recognition card. is programmed to rewrite and update record balances. [Effects of the Invention] The present invention has been explained above using examples of employee cafeterias and in-house shops, but the present invention can also be applied to cafeterias and shops of members-only clubs, for example. This is not limited to employee cafeterias and company stores. The effects of the present invention are listed below. ■ Since it is a prepaid sales method similar to that of prepaid cards, there is no need to accurately grasp the usage history of the card and collect the sales price later, unlike the deferred payment sales method using ordinary personal recognition cards. System development and maintenance become easier. ■ Users can purchase products by using their personal recognition cards just like prepaid cards, and there is less possibility that questions will arise about the amount of each purchase. - By inserting additional cash into the currency exchange terminal, the recorded balance of the card can be easily updated at any time, making it possible to use - cards as many times as needed. ■ Since we use a personal recognition card that makes it easy to confirm the user's identity, even if the card has a deficit balance, it is possible to provide products on credit, and there is no need to worry if the card balance is insufficient. It is possible to prevent a situation in which a product cannot be purchased.
