Generally, a supply reel and a take-up reel are disposed within a case main body formed by combining an upper half and a lower half made of plastic, and between the supply reel and the take-up reel. A magnetic tape is stretched over a predetermined path, and a guide member is placed in the middle of this path to ensure stable running of the magnetic tape.

It is attached to a magnetic head via guide rollers, guide pins, etc. provided on the recording/reproducing device side, and recording/reproducing operations are performed. As the recording/reproducing operation progresses, the magnetic tape is fed out, and is wound from the supply reel to the take-up reel via the guide member, each of the guide rollers on the recording/reproducing device side, the guide pin, the magnetic head, and the guide member in the tape cassette. taken.

Due to this effect, dust and dirt tend to adhere to the recording medium, resulting in deterioration of recording and reproduction characteristics such as dropouts. In particular, when the thickness of the magnetic tape itself is made thin for long-term recording, and when the tape running speed is increased to increase the recording density, charging is more likely to occur. That is, in magnetic tapes such as high-density vapor-deposited tapes and metal tapes, charging easily occurs, and this effect is much greater than in conventional tapes.

The object of the present invention is to provide a case main body, a supply reel and a take-up reel disposed within the case main body, and a reel disposed in a predetermined path between the supply reel and the take-up reel. A tape cassette comprising a tape and a guide member for guiding the tape, wherein the guide member is made of a conductive material, and when the tape cassette is installed in a recording and/or reproducing device. This is achieved by a tape cassette characterized in that the conductive member of the recording and/or reproducing device is configured to come into contact with the guide member.

Because it is
Static electricity accumulated during recording and reproducing operations can be eliminated via the conductive member having a grounding function. Therefore, it is effectively possible to prevent the tape from becoming entangled with various members of the recording/reproducing device due to static electricity, which reduces running performance, and also solves the problem of dust and dust adhesion caused by static electricity. , dropouts, etc. are less likely to occur.

The guide member is hollow and made of a conductive material, and when the tape cassette is installed in the recording and reproducing device, the conductive member of the recording and reproducing device enters into the guide member and comes into contact with it. The contact between the guide member and the conductive member of the recording/reproducing device is reliable, so that static electricity removal is more reliable, and the tape cassette can be positioned more reliably.
