ール状の自在継手2、4はボール部Aとソケット部Bと
からなり、このソケット部Bは分岐管6の先端及び取付
管7の先端にそれぞれ形成されている。ソケット部Bは
図2に示す様に、ボール部Aを押さえる袋ナット11と
ボール部Aを支持する受部12と、ボール部Aと受部1
2との間に介在せしめたパッキン13とからなる。巻き
出し管1には長さ調節のために、伸縮継手10が設けら
れている。16は外管P2の雄ねじ20と螺合する袋ナ
ット、17は内管P1に嵌着したロックリング、18は
ワッシャ、19はパッキンである。次に、本実施例の作
動について説明する。まず、分岐管6を配水管3に接続
すると共に取付管7を天井27のCチャンネル等の固定
部材28にU字金具29等により固定する。次に、伸縮
継手10の袋ナット16を緩めて巻き出し管1を伸縮可
能状態にした後、該管1の一端1aのボール部Aをパッ
キン13を介して分岐管6のソケット部Bに当接せしめ
るとともに、袋ナット11を回転させてボール部Aを締
め付ける。次に天井27に突設したスプリンクラヘッド
5の取付管7のソケット部Bに、前記管1の他端1bの
ボール部Aをパッキン13を介して当接せしめるととも
