Polymerization was carried out in the same manner as in Example 3 except for this. The obtained syndiotactic polypropylene powder was 47.8 g, and the toluene soluble content was 0.
It was 1g. "η" of powder is 1.18 dl/g,
The syndiotactic pentad fraction was 0.881. Example 5 [Polymerization assay] 10 mg of 1-(p-methoxyphenyl)-2-propylidene (cyclopentadienylfluorenyl) zirconium dichloride synthesized in Example 2 was dissolved in 10 ml of toluene, and 0.25 g of triethylaluminum was added.
g was added. 50 mg of triphenylmethanetetra(pentafluorophenyl)boric acid was added to this solution to prepare a catalyst solution. A 2 liter autoclave was charged with 1 liter of toluene and the catalyst solution prepared above. Propylene was added and the system was kept at 3 kg/cm2 and polymerization was carried out at 20°C for 1 hour. The obtained syndiotactic polypropylene powder was 32.6 g, and the toluene soluble content was 0.2 g. The [η] of the powder was 1.02 dl/g, and the syndiotactic pentad fraction was 0.864. Comparative Example 1 The same procedure as in Example 3 was carried out except that 2.0 mg of isopropylidene (cyclopentadienylfluorenyl) zirconium dichloride synthesized according to the method described in JP-A-2-41303 was used as the transition metal compound component. Polymerization was carried out. The obtained syndiotactic polypropylene powder was 56.8 g, and the toluene soluble content was 0.1 g. The powder had an η of 1.36 dl/g and a syndiotactic pentad fraction of 0.902. In this way, poly-α-olefins with different physical properties can be produced by using different transition metal compounds.
