Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a molded product where decoration is performed only partly, by a method wherein a planar shape of a mold release film to be used is selected appropriately and a part from which a mold release film is removed is kept unprovided. CONSTITUTION:At the time of heating-pressure molding of a thermosetting molding material, a mold release film is loaded so that the surface of a base of a molded product is covered with the thermosetting molding material at a stage where the thermosetting molding material is cured or semi-cured. Then pressure molding is performed by casting a coating material and the mold release film is removed finally.

Molded articles obtained by molding MC or BMC in a mold by heating and pressurizing tend to have surface defects such as pores, microcracks, sink marks, or undulations on the surface. When such surface defects occur, it is difficult to provide a satisfactory coating layer even if a coating layer such as a coating film is formed on the molded article by a conventional method.

[0003] Therefore, a so-called in-mold coating method has been proposed as a method for concealing the above-mentioned surface defects. For example, JP-A-53-71167 discloses a method of semi-curing SMC by heating and pressurizing it in a mold, and then opening the mold and injecting a coating material to form a coating layer on the surface of the molded product. No. 273,921 discloses a method of injecting and curing a coating material during compression molding at an injection pressure exceeding the molding pressure, thereby forming a coating layer on a molded article.

In the above-described in-mold coating molding method, it is possible to coat the entire surface of one side of a molded article made of a thermosetting molding material with the coating material. However, depending on the application, a molded article partially provided with a coating layer was required, but such a molded article could not be provided by the above-mentioned in-mold coating molding method. In other words, the conventional in-mold coating molding method is only a method with a considerably small degree of freedom from the viewpoint of decoration.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention involves injecting a coating material when the thermosetting molding material is semi-cured or hardened when the thermosetting molding material is heated and pressure molded in a mold. In the molding method, prior to injecting the above-mentioned coating material, a release film is introduced so as to partially cover the base material of the molded product, and after the release film is introduced, the coating material is injected and pressure molded, and then the mold is released. This is an in-mold decorative molding method characterized by removing the film.

The thermosetting resins used in the thermosetting molding material or coating material may be used alone or in combination. Further, as the release film used in the present invention, fluororesins such as polytetrafluoroethylene, polyester resins such as polyethylene terephthalate, synthetic resins such as silicone resins or olefin resins such as polypropylene, and paper subjected to release treatment are used. Those made of various materials can be used. However, it is desirable that the release film used be heat resistant enough to withstand the molding temperature, and the thickness should be 500 μm or less, preferably 100 μm or less in order to obtain a favorable surface condition of the molded product. It is desirable that When using a release film with a thickness exceeding 500 μm,
There is a considerable height difference between the decorated part and the non-decorated part,
This is because the appearance properties deteriorate.

[0010] The release film is placed into a mold before the coating material is injected. In this case, a mold release film of a size that partially covers the molded product base material is introduced, but by selecting the size and shape of this mold release film, it can be made up of the coating material injected in a later process. The size and planar shape of the coating layer forming portion can be adjusted. That is, by placing a release film on a part of the surface of the molded product, injecting the coating material and removing the molding film after molding, a partially decorated molded product can be obtained. .

[Operation] In the present invention, the coating material is injected after the mold release film is introduced, and the mold release film is removed after molding, so that the coating layer can not be formed on the part where the mold release film is provided. Therefore, by simply peeling off the release film, it is possible to obtain a molded product that is partially free of the coating layer, that is, that is partially decorated.

[0013] The dimensions of this molded product are 300 x 30 on the bottom.
The height is 30 mm, and the thickness is 3 mm. A mold having an upper mold and a lower mold is set in a 300t press, and heated with an electric heater to heat the upper mold to 150°C.
Molding was performed with the lower mold set at 145°C. First, in the mold, place SMC (polymer mat 689-350WBR)
After charging about 650 g of fluorine resin release film (Tedlar film, 50 mm ×50mm×thickness approx. 30μm
) was added to the area where no coating layer was provided. Next, the press pressure was set to 30 kg/cm2, and after repressing for about 10 seconds,
13 ml of the following coating material was injected from the center of the upper mold using a commercially available injection machine, then the press pressure was increased to 80 kg/cm2, and heated and pressurized for 120 seconds to obtain a molded product coated with the coating material. . After the obtained molded product was taken out of the mold, the release film was peeled off to obtain a partially decorated molded product (see FIG. 1).

A coating material was obtained by thoroughly stirring and mixing the coating material composition having the above composition. In the molded product obtained as described above, no coating layer was provided on the part where the release film was peeled off, and therefore a molded product partially decorated could be obtained. The appearance of the portion provided with the coating layer was good, and no surface defects such as cracks or sink marks were observed.

As described above, according to the present invention, when the thermosetting molding material is semi-hardened or hardened in the mold,
First, a release film is put in, then a covering material is injected and molded, and finally the release film is removed, so it is possible to obtain a partially decorated molded product. In other words, the present invention can produce a molded product that has a decorative layer that is partially decorated on the surface of the molded product and that is firmly attached to the base material of the molded product, which could not be obtained by conventional in-mold coating molding methods.
