The inner surface becomes brownish (so-called browning) and the transmittance of the glass decreases. In addition, in order to increase the brightness (brightness) of a cathode ray tube, the electron acceleration voltage (anode voltage), current, and current density are increased, and for this reason the temperature of the face plate is 100 degrees Celsius.

となる。When browning occurs, the clarity of the screen and images of the cathode ray tube is impaired and at the same time the brightness is reduced. Additionally, as the temperature of the faceplate increases, the luminous efficiency of the phosphor applied to the inner surface of the faceplate due to electron beams decreases (
This results in so-called temperature quenching), which reduces the brightness of the cathode ray tube. In either case, the performance of the cathode ray tube will be greatly impaired and this will pose a major problem in terms of product quality assurance.

The characteristics that face plate glass must have (thermal expansion coefficient, X-ray absorption coefficient, refractive index, transmittance,
This limits the level of improvement and makes it almost impossible to obtain a glass material with sufficient performance.

The maximum distance (Le) that an electron beam accelerated by the anode voltage collides with an object (solid) and penetrates into the object while gradually losing energy is given by the following equation.

Therefore, the above object is to coat the inner surface of the face plate with a transparent film that will not be damaged or colored by electron beam impact.

I did it. The thermal conductivity of the currently commonly used face plate glass for cathode ray tubes is approximately 5.5 to 7.5×IQ-'(W-m-'・K-°)
Therefore, it is expected that it is effective to form a transparent film having a thermal conductivity greater than this value. As a result of experimentally examining substances that satisfy this condition, suitable substances were found to be AI, 0. (21CIXIO-'W-m-

It can be seen that while the temperature reaches about 100° C., the temperature rise is 5 to 15% lower in the case of the II triode ray tube of the present invention. It can also be seen that the coloring of the face plate is much less in the case of the cathode ray tube of the present invention, and that the effects of AI, O, and g are particularly large.
