Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a dispersant for Bordeaux mixtures comprising a polymer of an ester of (meth)acrylic acid with an alkylene oxide adduct of a hydroxy compound having an alkyl, alkenyl or alkylphenyl group. CONSTITUTION:A dispersant used for Bordeaux mixtures containing uniform particles having fine particle sizes comprises a polymer of a compound of the formula (R<1> is H, CH3;R<2> is 1-20C alkyl, alkenyl, alkylphenyl; m is 2-4; n is 1-50). The Bordeaux mixture containing the above dispersant is excellent in the stability of the dispersed particles, and even when the concentration of the particles is high, the Bordeaux mixture is less viscous and exhibits a stable property. Examples of the above polymer include a homopolymer of the compound of the formula, a copolymer of at least two of them and besides a copolymer of the compound of the formula and a vinyl compound other than the same. The dispersant is added to the Bordeaux mixture in an amount of oil to 5wt.% based on the solid content thereof.

Traditionally, this Bordeaux liquid is prepared by separately making an aqueous solution or dispersion of the raw materials copper sulfate and quicklime, and then
For example, this has been done by mixing an aqueous copper sulfate solution with a lime emulsion while stirring in the cold. The mixing ratio of copper sulfate and quicklime varies depending on the purpose of preventing pests and bacteria, but in any case, the dispersion obtained by mixing and reacting as described above is sprayed onto agricultural crops.

As a result of intensive studies to achieve the above object, the present inventors found that when a specific compound is added and mixed as a dispersant during the preparation of Bordeaux liquid, a Bordeaux liquid containing uniform particles with a fine particle size can be obtained. Furthermore, it was discovered that this Bordeaux liquid has poor stability of dispersed particles, and exhibits stable properties with low viscosity even when the concentration is high, leading to the present invention.
