Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the retentiveness of caps by a fitting of the caps, which are respectively fitted in each end pat of a porcelain base body, by a method wherein the diameter of the inner surface of the side part of each metallic cap is formed in such a way that the nearer the diameter goes to the outer end of the side part, the smaller it becomes. CONSTITUTION:Each cap 1 is constituted of a bottom 2 of a cylindrical side part 3 with an opened outer end 5. The diameter of an inner surface 4 of the part 3 is formed in such a way that the nearer the diameter goes to the end 5, the smaller it becomes. An inner diameter W2 at the end 5 is formed smaller than an inner diameter W1 at the bottom 2. When the cap 1 is made to fit in one end part 7 of a base body 6, the inner surface 4 of the side part 3 of the cap 1 comes into contact into a planar form to the outer periphery of the part 7. By this contact, the contact areas of the cap 1 and the body 6 become wide and the retentiveness of the cap is increased by the fitting of the cap.

(Prior Art) Cylindrical electronic components, such as small resistors, especially small resistors with 100% resistance, are 1. It is constructed by forming a resistive film around a base made of a round porcelain rod, fitting metal caps on both ends, and coating the entire body with insulating paint.

- Generally, the base material is made by cutting raw porcelain into short lengths and then firing them, so both ends of the material bulge out. In order to reduce the swelling, it is usually polished after firing. However, in the conventional method, a certain amount of swelling remains.

On the other hand, when the conventional gee V-tube 1 that fits into the end of the base is composed of a bottom fllt 2 and a cylindrical side *++:3, as shown in FIG. 4, the inner surface 4 of the side part 3 is flat. 4. (Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, when a cap with such a shape is fitted to the end of the base body where bulges remain at both ends, the ends and cap 1
The contact points on the inner surface 4 of the IFflS3 are point-like, and the contact area is extremely small1, so the holding force due to fitting is weak, and in the worst case, the cap may be pulled out from the base body.

(Function) When the cap formed as described above is fitted to the end of the base, the inner surface of the side part of the cap comes into contact with the surface of the end of the base. Therefore, the contact area becomes wider and the holding force due to fitting increases.

That is, if the inner diameter at the bottom portion 2 is Wl and the inner diameter at the outer end is W2, then the inner diameter W2 is smaller than the inner diameter W1. Further, when the inner surface is formed into an arc shape, the cap 1 having a shape similar to that shown in FIG. FIG. 2 shows the fitted state. 7 is an end portion of the base body 6.

When the cap 1 is fitted onto the end portion 7 of the base body 6, the inner surface 4 of the side portion 3 of the cap 1 comes into planar contact with the outer periphery of the end portion 7. This contact widens the contact area, and the holding force due to fitting is increased compared to the conventional structure.

The end portion 7 of the base body 6 shown in FIG. It can also be used for a base body 6 having an end portion 7 formed of a bulge whose diameter increases toward the center of the base body 6.

In this case, as the cap 1 is fitted to the end 7,
The outer end 5 of the cap 1 will be pushed out,
Due to the restoring elasticity, the inner surface 4 and the outer periphery of the end portion 7 come into planar contact. This increases the holding force due to fitting.

Although the embodiments described above relate to resistors, it goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to this and can be applied to other electronic components such as capacitors and diodes.

(Effects of the Invention) As described in detail in 1-1 below, according to the present invention, since a cap is used whose diameter decreases toward the outer end, the fit of the cap becomes smaller when it is fitted to the base constituting the resistor. This has the effect that the holding force due to the coupling can be sufficiently balanced.
