に、通気停止時には膨張したシールキヤツプが水
圧とその弾性復帰力のバランスを保ちながら収縮
して空気室内の空気を外部に排出するので、汚水
の多孔性散気板内への侵入を防止でき、従つて、
多孔性散気板の気孔内にゴミや汚物が侵入して目
詰まりを起こしたりすることがない等の効果を有
するものである。
