Abstract

PURPOSE:To make thin heat insulating material in a duct and widen a space in a refrigerator by a method wherein a heat insulating space is provided between a cover member, forming the surface of a cold air duct, and the heat insulating material. CONSTITUTION:A cold air duct 7, introducing cold air in a cooler chamber 5 into the upper part of a refrigerating chamber, is provided with heat insulating material 11 on the surface of the inner box 2 side of a tubular body formed of the inner box 2 and a duct cover 10 and a heat insulating space 12 between the inner box 2 and the heat insulating material 11. The inner box 2 is made of plastics having the thickness of about 1mm. When the heat insulating material 11 is made of foamed styrol having the thickness of about 4mm and the thickness of the heat insulating space is about 4mm, an adiabatic effect, equivalent to the same so far, can be obtained. According to this method, the thickness of the heat insulating material can be thinned and a space in a refrigerator can be widened by an amount corresponding to the thinned thickness of the heat insulating material.

A conventional example of a cold air ventilation duct structure for sending cold air from a cooler room of a refrigerator-freezer, etc. to a refrigerator room, etc.
There is a publication No. 389. This is a cold air duct 7 that guides the cold air from the cooler compartment 5 to the upper part of the refrigerator compartment 3, as shown in Figures 2 and 4.
However, on the surface of the cylindrical body formed by the inner box 2 and the duct cover 10 on the inner box 2 side, a separate heat insulating body 11 made of foamed polystyrene or the like is arranged. However, in order to prevent the low-temperature cold air cooled in the cooler chamber 5 passing through the cold air duct 7 from being conducted to the surface side of the inner box 2, it is necessary to increase the thickness of the heat insulating material 11 made of polystyrene foam or the like. This increases the thickness of the insulation wall in that part of the insulation box 1 formed by the outer box and the inner box of the refrigerator. As a result, there was a drawback that the inside of the refrigerator became narrow.

The above conventional technology does not take into account the fact that the insulation material of the cold air duct through which low-temperature cold air passes becomes thicker, and the insulation wall of the insulation box formed by the outer box and the inner box of the refrigerator becomes thicker. There was a problem in that it made the inside of the refrigerator too small.
