Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure specific abutting force by providing a 1st holding member which holds a rotary body for coating rotatably and a 2nd holding member which holds the 1st holding member rotatably. CONSTITUTION:The rotary body 3 which applies a releasing agent is supported rotatably on a holder 14, which is supported rotatably on a guide member 17; and the guide member 17 is moved to bring the coating rotary body 3 into contact. Therefore, the attitude of the holder based upon the elastic force of a leaf spring 20 is correctly obtained unless the attitude of the guide member 17 is determined, so that the specific abutting force is obtained. Further, the fixed end of the leaf spring 20 is arranged nearby the center 17A of rotation of a holding guide 17, so the reaction force of the force pressing a oil coating roller 3 against a fixing roller 1 is applied to this fixed end, but never rotates the holding guide 17, so the pressing force can further be stabilized.

The conventional release agent applicator shown in FIG. 4 has a structure in which a felt 15 impregnated with silicone oil is supported by a support member 20 so as to be in contact with the fixing roller 1. The structure is as follows. Although this device is effective because it can simultaneously apply oil as a mold release agent and clean the surface of the fixing roller 1, the absolute amount of silicone oil contained in the felt 15 is small, which may cause an oil shortage early on. The part of the felt 15 that comes into contact with the fixing roller becomes dirty, which also causes early cleaning failure and requires the felt 15 to be replaced. In contrast, the fifth
A release agent application roller as shown in the figure has been proposed. For example, there is a silicone rubber layer 8 as an intermediate layer on a core made of stainless steel, and a felt layer 9 made of heat-resistant felt is formed on the surface layer, and this felt layer 9 has a viscosity of 1 (1 loOcs silicone oil is uniformly impregnated in the longitudinal direction of the release agent application roller. The release agent application roller contacts the fixing roller 1 and rotates as a result of the application, applying silicone oil to the fixing roller 1. However, in the case of this mold release agent application roller as well, if the silicone oil impregnated into the felt layer is insufficient, it must be replaced, or the replacement interval must be adjusted as much as possible. In order to make the length as long as possible, as shown in Fig. 6, a release agent application roller 3 is made to be able to come into contact with and separate from the fixing roller 1 freely. During times when fixing is not required, such as during standby or during pre-rotation of a copying operation, the release agent application roller 3 is separated from the fixing roller 1, so the amount of release agent discharged is reduced accordingly. This has increased the time it takes to replace them.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, in the case of the configuration in which the release agent application roller is brought into contact with and separated from the release agent application roller in this way, the posture of the member that holds the release agent application roller is changed when the release agent application roller is brought into contact with the fixing roller. There was a problem in that the contact force was not determined and a predetermined contact force could not be ensured, resulting in variations in the amount of mold release agent applied.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention, which solves the above-mentioned problems, includes a fixing rotary body for nipping and conveying a recording material and fixing it, and a coating rotary body for applying a release liquid to the fixing rotary body. A fixing device comprising: a first holding member that rotatably holds the coating rotor; and a second holding member that rotatably holds the first holding member. The present invention is characterized in that the coating rotor is brought into contact with and separated from the fixing rotor by moving the second holding member.

In addition, the heat-resistant felt layer 9 contains 10,000 yen as a mold release agent.
Approximately 15 g of cS silicone oil is uniformly impregnated in the longitudinal direction. This oil application roller has a holding member (holder) at the shaft portion 9A that protrudes from both ends in the longitudinal direction.
It is rotatably held by 14. As shown in Figure 1, one of the bearings on both sides of the holder that holds the core metal of the oil application roller has a slit on the right side of the drawing, and this slit is used to hold the member. The oil coating roller can be expanded from this portion by pushing and pulling the shaft 9A.

As shown in FIG. 1, the holder 14 has a hook-shaped protrusion 14B on the opposite side (right side in the drawing) of a handle 14A for attaching and detaching from the main body, and the oil application roller comes into contact with the fixing roller. The structure is such that there is no risk of the oil application roller jumping out of the holder when the oil application roller is removed.

Furthermore, a pressure contact spring 20 is provided between the holder 14 and the guide 17 that holds it, in order to ensure a predetermined contact pressure when they come into contact. The spring 20 is a leaf spring bent into a "J" shape to facilitate attachment and detachment of the holder I4.

As shown in FIG. 2, the oil application roller receives a reaction force in the direction shown by the arrow a during contact. At this time, the hook 14B is in a state of being pressed against the cut-and-raised portion because a force is applied to the holder from the leaf spring 20 at a position closer to the hook. Therefore, the force exerts on the oil application roller 3 including the holder in the direction of the arrow, but in order to prevent this, the holder 14 is provided with a hook-shaped protrusion (14-B). Two locations are provided and these are hooked onto the cut and raised portions of the guide member 7.

The photosensitive tram (not shown) and the fixing roller rotate simultaneously when the user turns on the copy signal. After the pre-rotation is completed, an optical system (not shown) begins to scan the document and exposes an image onto the photoreceptor drum. Thereafter, the developed image is transferred to a transfer material, which is a recording material, conveyed from a cassette or the like. Then, the transfer material carrying the undetermined image is sent to a fixing device by a conveyance system.

At this time, at least at a certain point when the fixing roller starts rotating and the transfer material does not enter the nip formed by the fixing roller and the pressure roller, a signal is sent from the DC controller 12, the solenoid is energized, and the iron core is The lever 18 rotates due to the suction and pushes the end of the guide 17.

As described above, in this embodiment, the coating rotary body for applying a mold release agent is rotatably supported by a holder, and furthermore, this holder is rotatably supported by a guide member, and this guide is moved. Even if the posture of the guide member is not fixed, the elastic force of the leaf spring 20 can maintain the correct posture of the holder and provide a predetermined contact pressure.

Furthermore, since the fixed end of the leaf spring 20 is arranged near the rotation center 17A of the holding guide 17 when viewed in cross section, the reaction force of the force that presses the oil application roller 3 against the fixing roller 1 is applied to this fixed end. Since it does not become a force that is applied or rotates the holding guide 17, the pressing force can be further stabilized.

Further, in this embodiment, the coating rotor is supported by a strong support member, and the force for moving the coating rotor toward and away, that is, the force by the solenoid and the force by the spring 21, acts only on one side of the support member. Therefore, there is no unevenness in the contact force in the longitudinal direction of the coating rotor.
