However, such epoxy adhesives have a problem in heat resistance and have the disadvantage of peeling off during use of the sheet heating element. If such peeling occurs, there is a risk that the heating resistor will be exposed, which is also a problem in terms of safety. Further, the work of bonding the heat generating resistor and the insulating sheet using an adhesive is troublesome and has the drawback of increasing costs.

First and second insulating sheets 2 and 3 made of thermoplastic polyimide are thermocompression bonded to both surfaces of a planar heating resistor 1. The thermoplastic polyimide used in the planar heating element of the present invention preferably has an imide structure in its skeleton and is a polymer with a glass transition temperature of 160"C or higher and 300"C or lower. If the temperature is below 160°C, the high temperature reliability will be poor, and if the temperature is above 300°C, the adhesive strength will be poor. This can be easily done using a thermal laminating roll.

First, as shown in FIG. 2A, a stainless steel sheet 12 constituting a planar heating resistor is placed on the entire surface of a first insulating sheet 11 made of thermoplastic polyimide, and the whole is heated to a temperature of 210 to 270°C. Heat to a certain temperature and bond with thermocompression. The thickness of the insulating sheet 11 made of thermoplastic polyimide can be, for example, 0.025 to 10 m+s, and the thickness of the stainless steel sheet 12 can be, for example, 5 to 10 m+s.
It can be set to 500 μm. Next, as shown in FIG. 2B, the stainless steel is selectively patterned by etching to form a planar heating resistor 13. moreover,
As shown in FIG. 2C, after placing the second insulating sheet 14 made of thermoplastic polyimide on the heating resistor 13, the second insulating sheet 14 is heated and pressurized as a whole.
4 is bonded to the heating resistor 13 and the first insulating sheet 11 to form a single unit, and the heating resistor I3 is embedded inside the thermoplastic polyimide sheet 15 as shown in the second diagram. You can get a body.
