【発明の詳細な説明】
〔産業上の利用分野〕
本発明は、電気炉、ホットプレス、ＨＩＰなど高温不活
性雰囲気下で高度の断熱性能を発揮するカーボンブラッ
ク系の断熱構造体を量産性よく製造するための方法に関
する。

する。
カーボンブラックを基材とする高温断熱材としては、カ
ーボンブラックベレットの表層部にガラス質炭素を形成
被着した粒状断熱材が出願人により開発されている（特
開昭６２−１４１０８号）。このカーボンブラック系断
熱材は、軽量で１０００°Ｃを越える高温域の断熱性能
に優れるうえに流動性に冨むため充填式の断熱材料とし
て有用されているが、反面、自己成形性を持たない関係
で自由に賦形することができない欠点がある。
ーボンブラックベレットの表層部にガラス質炭素を形成
被着した粒状断熱材が出願人により開発されている（特
開昭６２−１４１０８号）。このカーボンブラック系断
熱材は、軽量で１０００°Ｃを越える高温域の断熱性能
に優れるうえに流動性に冨むため充填式の断熱材料とし
て有用されているが、反面、自己成形性を持たない関係
で自由に賦形することができない欠点がある。
カーボンブラックは、本来、直径１０〜２００ｎ−の極
めて微細な球形粒子が融着結合ないし二次的に凝集した
鎖状構造を呈しているため、それ自体が固有の断熱性を
備えている。したがって、これを熱硬化性樹脂またはタ
ール・ピッチのようなバインダーで賦形したのち焼成す
ることによって成形比することも可能であるが、ハンド
リングに耐える強度を保有させるためには多量のバイン
ダー添加が必要となり、したがってカーボンブラック固
有の断熱性能が大幅に損なわれる問題点がある。

（発明が解決しようとする課題〕
Claims (3)
- １．フラフィー状のカーボンブラックに、５〜２０重量
％の炭素繊維チョップ、前記カーボンブラックと炭素繊
維チョップの１００重量部に対し３０〜２００重量部に
相当する熱揮散性物質、およびバインダーを混練し、混
練物を押出成形したのち焼成炭化処理することを特徴と
するカーボンブラック系断熱構造体の製造方法。 - ２．熱揮散性物質として、パラフィンワックス、ポリエ
チレン、ポリメタクリル酸メチルおよびポリビニルアル
コールから選ばれた１種または２種以上の粉末を用いる
請求項１記載のカーボンブラック系断熱構造体の製造方
法。 - ３．バインダーとして、ピッチ、タール、フラン系樹脂
またはフェノール系樹脂からなる炭化性バインダーとポ
リスチレンまたはポリビニルアルコールの樹脂溶液から
なる粘結性バインダーを併用する請求項１記載のカーボ
ンブラック系断熱構造体の製造方法。
