Conventionally, artificial heathered decorative veneers have been made by using veneers of the same or different wood species as raw material veneers using an adhesive, aligning the main fiber directions of the veneers in the same way, and then attaching them between a pair of templates of the desired shape. The materials were laminated and pressed to form a flitch, and then the flitch was peeled off so that the adhesive layer became a woodgrain pattern to produce an artificial heathered decorative veneer with a desired woodgrain pattern.

However, compared to the decorative veneer obtained from natural wood, the artificial heathered decorative veneer obtained by the above method reproduces the changes in the texture of natural wood and the vessels that follow the wood grain pattern seen in ring-pored wood. I couldn't do it. Therefore, a method of reproducing vessel grooves by combining veneers with different textures, such as veneers with small grooves and veneers with large grooves, has been implemented, and some progress has been made technically, but the raw materials for laminating Since the main fiber directions of the veneers are the same, the texture of the decorative veneer is only slightly felt due to the slight texture of the raw veneer.
It lacked a sense of nature. Note that wood texture is seen in areas where wood fibers are intricately intertwined and densely packed together, as well as in cut surfaces of wood fibers, and is thought to be a phenomenon that occurs because these areas reflect light, and is directional. It is a characteristic. The present invention has been made to solve the above problems.
That is, the present invention is an artificial wood grain method in which raw material veneers are laminated and pressed between a pair of templates of a desired shape via an adhesive to form a flitch, and then the flitch is peeled off so that the adhesive layer forms a wood grain pattern. In the method for manufacturing decorative veneers, after the raw veneers are laminated in succession according to the direction of the main fibers of the raw veneers, the layers are laminated in a direction that intersects at an angle of 30° to 90° with respect to the direction of the main fibers of the raw veneers. The present invention relates to a method for producing artificial heathered decorative veneers, which is characterized by laminating and bonding a required number of raw material veneers. The present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to the drawings.

The raw material veneer 1 is preferably a veneer whose main fiber direction matches the direction of development of the desired wood grain pattern, and which has no or almost inconspicuous channel grooves. The raw material veneer 2 is a veneer that is laminated in appropriate combinations in a direction that intersects the main fiber direction of the veneer 1, and may be of the same wood species as the veneer 1 or a different wood species, but When trying to express a ring-hole material such as veneer 2, it is better to use a veneer of a tree species that is thinner than veneer 1 and has many or large vessel grooves.
Note that the raw material veneers 1 and 2 may be subjected to appropriate treatments such as dyeing or bleaching, if necessary. Next, as shown in Fig. 2, several or more than ten pieces of the raw material veneer 1 are glued between a pair of templates created to express the desired wood grain pattern using a commonly used appropriately colored wood adhesive. After laminating continuously so that the fiber directions are almost the same, the raw material veneer 2 is laminated in a direction that intersects the main fiber direction of the raw material veneer 1 at an angle of 30° to 90° to form a whole.
Approximately 200 to 300 raw material veneers are laminated in a predetermined order of assembly and pressed together to create a frit as shown in Figure 3.

Note that the main fiber direction of a veneer as used in the present invention is considered to be the same as the growth direction of the log from which the veneer was obtained. Also, the angle that intersects with the direction of the main fibers of the veneer is preferably large.
In other words, an angle of 90° is best, but in practice, the desired effect can be obtained with an angle of 30° or more.

As described above, according to the method of the present invention, unlike the conventional method, the main fiber direction of the raw material veneer is crossed at a predetermined position, and then this is peeled off in the same manner as in the conventional method. The cut plane of the fibers where the running directions of the wood fibers intersect appears, and if the raw material veneer has pipe grooves, they appear in pipe grooves in different directions, so the wood grain pattern can be clearly seen depending on the direction in which it is viewed. It is possible to create an artificial heathered decorative veneer that has the same natural appearance as natural decorative veneers, with a direction of appearance and disappearance.
