Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the weight and prevent the generation of crack and peeling an insert off a molded body section by providing a hollow section on the molded body section covering a part of the insert or the whole surface. CONSTITUTION:An injection molded body with an insert is provided with a molded body section 2 covering the whole surface of the insert 1. Also, the molded body section 2 is provided with a hollow section 3. The injection molded body can be manufactured by disposing the insert 1 in a mold, closing the mold and then feeding forcibly molten resin and pressurized gas into the mold and solidifying therein, and then exhausting the pressurized gas and releasing therefrom. The molded body section 2 is thick in its wall in appearance, but actually it is composed of comparatively thin wall thickness as the hollow section 2 is formed. Cooling in the injection molding process, therefore, can be performed uniformly and quickly, and the heat shrinkage volume is small.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, in the injection molded article having the conventional insert described in F, the molded article part is solid and thick. There is a disadvantage that the shrinkage ink becomes large and it is easy to cause appearance defects such as sink marks. Especially when the insert is made of metal, the cooling rate difference between the resin that makes up the molded part and the insert becomes large, causing cracks to occur in the resin debris in the molded part, and haze between the resin debris and the insert. There are some easy problems.

[Function] As in the present invention, when the molded body part 2 is assumed to be located on the right side of the hollow part 3, the molded body part 2 has a thick wall in appearance E, but the hollow part 3 is actually formed in the molded body part 2. Therefore, it is constructed with relatively thin wall thickness. Therefore, uniform and rapid cooling is facilitated during cooling during the injection molding process, and the amount of thermal shrinkage is reduced.

In addition, the resin constituting the molded body part 2 is the same as the conventional one, and if it can be injection molded, it may be a thermoplastic resin, a thermoplastic elastomer, a thermosetting resin, or a mixture of these with additives or fillers. Any of the following is acceptable.

The wall thickness of the molded body part 2 depends on the use of the injection molded body having four inserts, but it is preferably 5 to 40 cm.
The size of the hollow part 3 is preferably 10 to 50% of the cross-sectional area of the molded body part 2 including the hollow part 3. If the molded body part 2 is too thin or the hollow part 3 is too large, If the strength of the molded body part 2 is likely to be insufficient, and if the molded body part 2 is too weak or the hollow part 3 is too small, the effect of providing the hollow part 3 will not be sufficiently obtained.

(2) Since the molded body part 2 is thin as shown in E, the entire body can be cooled uniformly and quickly during injection molding, reducing the difference in cooling rate between the molded body part 2 and the insert 1. Therefore, generation of cracks and peeling of the molded body portion 2 and the insert 1 can be prevented. Further, since large thermal contraction caused by cooling of the molded body portion 2 can be suppressed, it is also possible to prevent appearance defects due to sink marks.
