Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply and stably obtain the subject wall paper having excellent scratch resistance, preservability, etc., without damaging the precise design and pattern thereof by employing a solvent type ink or aqueous ink as an ink for a wiping process. CONSTITUTION:When a thermoplastic resin layer 2 coated and formed on backing paper 1 is printed and embossed and the embossed depressions are wiped with an ink 3 to prepare the objective wall paper, a solvent type ink or aqueous ink is employed as the ink 3. After the ink 3 is wiped, a transparent or semitransparent protecting layer is preferably coated and formed on the wiped surface.

Conventionally, wallpaper subjected to wiping processing has been manufactured using a doubling sheet. Its production generally involves printing on a colored polyvinyl chloride sheet, laminating a transparent polyvinyl chloride film thereon and simultaneously embossing it, then applying ink to the recesses on the film and wiping it. It is done by.

However, when a transparent film made of the same material as the sheet is laminated as in the method described above, the wallpaper becomes too hard than necessary, the installation efficiency is poor, and the phenomenon of ear sagging often occurs. Shortcomings appear. In order to avoid this, even if the transparent film is not laminated to the sheet and is directly wiped onto the PVC sheet, the printed pattern will be dissolved due to the attack of the wiping ink on the solvent, which will hinder the wiping process. A solution to these problems has been desired.

First, the thermoplastic resin layer 2 is provided on the backing paper 1 (FIG. 1A). Next, the printing ink 3 is printed on the thermoplastic resin N2 to draw arbitrary patterns and patterns (Figure 1 opening)
. Various known methods can be applied to the above printing. In particular, the gravure printing method is common and preferably used. After printing is applied to the surface of the resin layer, embossing is performed to provide unevenness (FIG. 1C). Embossing can be done by any commonly used method, and is done while controlling temperature and pressure.

Next, ink for wiping is supplied to the recesses formed by the previous embossing process (FIG. 1-2). Wiping can be done by various known methods. In order to make the wiping ink 4 exist only in the recesses, the wiping ink applied to the convex parts is preferably collected by a doctor blade method so as to fill the recesses, or is scraped off to the outside of the surface of the resin layer.

Embossing was performed on the surface of the obtained sheet by hot pressing with a metal embossing roll (a chrome-plated etching plate). Next, a wiping ink having the following composition was applied to the surface, and then the wiping ink was left only in the concave portions of the surface using a doctor blade and dried and cured to obtain wallpaper. As a result, the obtained wallpaper retains a precise pattern, and even by using the simple method of directly wiping the pattern printed surface as in this example, it is possible to obtain wallpaper with excellent design. It was confirmed that
