に固着されている。26はリングと称されるエアバッグ
取付部材であり、該リング26と平板部14の開口24
の縁部との間でエアバッグ12の開口縁部を挟持し、こ
れによってエアバッグ12がリテーナ10に固定されて
いる。28は前記モジュールカバー18に設けられたテ

力が軽減されるため、エアバッグの展開は安定したもの
じなる。また、モジュールカバーの開裂変形時Cリテー
ナに加えられる応力は低曲げ剛性部に集中するようにな
り、リテーナのその他の部分の必要強度を低減すること
