Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve positive understanding of a ground contact condition and increase in a ground contact area and so fourth at the time of cornering by forming a protruding part which protrudes in a particular height and extends in a particular width in a circumferential direction of a tire at both edges in a tire axial direction of tread parts. CONSTITUTION:A tire 1 is provided with tread parts 2, a pair of side wall parts 3 extending inward in a radial direction from both the edges of the tread parts and a bead part 4 positioned at the inner edge parts in a radial direction of the side wall parts 3. With this constitution, at both the edges in the tire axial direction of the thread parts 2, protruding parts 5 which protrude outward from tread outlined curved surfaces PL which layer the surfaces of the tread parts 2 from a tire equator C are formed. Besides the heights (h) of the protruding parts 5 from the above outlined curved surfaces PL are set within the region of 1.0mm-5.0mm, and their widths W are set within the region of 1.0mm-10.0mm. It is thus possible to achieve positive understanding of a ground contact condition and increase in a ground contact area at the time of cornering.

Detailed Description of the Invention (Field of Industrial Application) The present invention relates to tires for motorcycles, and is capable of easily determining the ground contact state of the tire especially during cornering, and improving cornering force and camber thrust. Regarding motorcycle tires.

[Prior Art and Problems to be Solved by the Invention] When a motorcycle is traveling straight, it travels almost perpendicular to the road surface, but when cornering, it travels at an angle to the road surface.

The angle of inclination increases as the radius of curvature during cornering becomes smaller and as the speed increases, but it varies depending on the driving conditions. Knowing the degree of inclination of the motorcycle's body during cornering is useful in order to safely try to ride to the limit of the tire's capacity, and also to guide the modification of the body and to select a body according to the rider's skill. It is preferable as a guide, but what is also necessary is cornering force and camber in order to obtain relatively free turning.
The goal is to improve the thrust itself.

In addition, in order to know the boundary between the contact area of the tire with the road surface and the non-contact area during cornering, for example,
-2801, a method has been proposed in which a display symbol is provided near a part of the shoulder of the tread portion, and the ground contact state of the tire can be ascertained based on the wear state of the symbol. However, this proposal is limited to knowing the degree of tire inclination during cornering, and is not intended to improve driving safety itself when the degree of tire inclination reaches its limit.

The present invention can accurately and easily determine the degree of tire inclination during cornering, and when the inclination reaches its limit, it increases the contact area and ground pressure to maintain cornering force and camber trust, resulting in safety. The aim is to propose a motorcycle that enables comfortable driving.

Motorcycle tires have protrusions formed on both sides of the tread surface, so if the tire slopes during cornering, the state of wear will become clearer as it makes contact with the ground, and the protrusions will reduce the wear rate during cornering. Ground contact area and ground pressure are increased, higher cornering force and camber thrust are obtained, and stable maneuverability is achieved.

01 is formed with a height Q, l mn~Q, 5*x, and the present invention makes the wear state even clearer by making it higher than this. Also, the radius W of the protrusion is 1.0
u to I O, OIII, but in order to increase ground contact pressure and ground contact area during cornering, a range of 3 mm to 10 peaks is more preferable. Further, the protrusion 5 may extend continuously in the circumferential direction of the tire as shown in FIG. 2, or may have a block shape that extends intermittently in the circumferential direction of the tire. Even when continuing, the protrusions 5 are relatively long, and the amount of discontinuity is 15 mm or less, preferably 10 mm or less, more preferably 5 mm or less, and at least one protrusion per pattern of the tread pattern. Section 5 is provided. Note that in order to increase ground contact pressure and ground contact area, a continuous shape in the circumferential direction is desirable. Furthermore, it is also possible to form one or more narrow grooves 6 extending in the circumferential direction on the surface of the protrusion 5 and divide the protrusion into a plurality of strips. In this case, the depth d of the narrow groove 6 is Part 5
The height h of the protrusion 6 is set to approximately half of the height h of the protrusion 6, thereby preventing a decrease in the rigidity of the protrusion 6.

Tire size 100/90. -16 Tires with the basic structure shown in Figure 1 and with protrusions of each specification shown in Table 1 were prototyped, and the performance of the tires was measured, and the results are shown in Table 1. It is shown in Note that although the figure shows a protrusion with a thin groove formed in it, the example
In the comparative examples, those without narrow grooves were used. Although Comparative Example 1 has excellent properties, the protrusion 5 swells excessively, resulting in poor appearance and increased cost, and tends to make contact with the road surface unstable. Comparative Example 4 is a conventional tire. In addition, camber thrust and cornering force were measured using a 6-minute tire tester and comparing Comparative Example 4 with 100
It is displayed as an index. The larger the numerical value is, the better it is, and a preferable range for both is 105 or more. Further, straight-line stability and cornering stability are evaluations of driver feeling, and a preferable range is 3.0 or more.
