Recently, labeling machines using a thermal printing method have been widely adopted, especially in the retail industry such as supermarkets, and the demand for thermal coloring adhesive labels is also rapidly increasing. This label has a heat-sensitive coloring layer provided on the printing surface of the support, and a desired character image can be easily formed by bringing it into contact with the thermal head of a printing device. This method not only allows retailers such as supermarkets to easily print large quantities of price tag labels, but also allows for the format of character images to be changed freely.
It also has many advantages such as no noise.

Conventionally, this type of heat-sensitive coloring adhesive label has used release paper to protect the adhesive surface. After an adhesive label is printed on this release paper by a labeling machine, it is peeled off from the label body and wound up, and is discarded when one roll of label material is used up.
However, the use of release paper causes the following problems.

In view of this current situation, the inventors of the present invention have carefully studied the structure of heat-sensitive color adhesive labels, and as a result, they have devised a heat-sensitive color adhesive label with a completely new structure that does not require a release paper, which is a completely different idea from conventional ones. I've reached it.
In other words, normal heat-sensitive coloring labels typically have a heat-sensitive coloring layer on a support, and a barrier layer on top of that to prevent the migration of plasticizers, etc. in the plastic film in which the product is packaged. In Although,
The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems at once by providing a release layer on top of the conventional label consisting of a support, a heat-sensitive coloring layer, and a barrier layer. This peeling layer protects the thermosensitive coloring layer together with the barrier layer, and at the same time comes into contact with the adhesive surface during winding up of the label to protect it, providing an extremely rational structure of the thermosensitive coloring adhesive label.

The structure of the thermosensitive color adhesive label according to the present invention is shown in cross-sectional views as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. In the figure, 1 is a support, 2 is a thermosensitive coloring layer, 3 is a barrier layer, 4 is a release layer, 5 is an undercoat layer, and 6 is an adhesive layer. Since the heat-sensitive coloring adhesive label having such a structure is supplied in a rolled form, a conceptual diagram thereof is shown in FIG. 3.

Paper or a paper-like material (hereinafter simply referred to as paper, etc.) is used as the support for the heat-sensitive color adhesive label. Suitable paper or the like is one that has sufficient strength to endure during label processing or use, is relatively dense, and has good smoothness and dimensional stability. This type of paper is not particularly limited as long as it has the above-mentioned suitability, but examples include general high-quality paper, medium-quality paper, synthetic paper, and even glassine paper. In particular, it is preferable that the surface of the paper is sealed to some extent by surface sizing or the like. Also, the basis weight is

The heat-sensitive coloring layer provided on the surface of the support can be formed using the known technology of heat-sensitive coloring recording paper, which is composed of a colorless or light-colored coloring dye and a color developer. The coating amount is desirably in the range of 2 to 20 g/m 2 , particularly 5 to 10 g/m 2 in terms of solid content.

Furthermore, a release layer is provided on the barrier layer instead of the conventional release paper to completely protect the heat-sensitive coloring layer together with the barrier layer as described above, and also to prevent contact with the adhesive layer during winding. to protect. As the release layer, any known material, whether silicone or non-silicone, can be used as long as it has release properties for the adhesive layer described below. The coating amount is preferably in the range of 0.2 to 5 g/m 2 as a solid content for silicone-based materials, and 0.5 to 10 g/m 2 for non-silicone materials.

An adhesive is applied to the back side of the support to form an adhesive layer, but the adhesive is prevented from penetrating into the support.
In order to obtain a sufficient adhesion effect, a subbing layer can be provided if necessary. As a component of the undercoat layer, it is preferable to use a film-forming water-soluble polymeric substance similar to that of the barrier layer. The heat-sensitive coloring adhesive label thus obtained, which does not require a release paper, not only provides a homogeneous and clear printed image using a labeling machine, but also has a release layer that protects the heat-sensitive coloring layer from plasticizers and the like, as well as a barrier layer. It is further strengthened, and a printed image with excellent storage stability can be obtained without the problem of printing disappearing due to plasticizers or the like.

Furthermore, since no release paper is required, the manufacturing cost of adhesive labels is reduced, the labeling machine can be made lighter and smaller, and the length of the adhesive label per roll loaded can be increased, which is beneficial for the user. It has become possible to provide heat-sensitive coloring adhesive labels that are extremely easy to handle.
