However, since styrenic polymers do not have sufficient adhesion to inorganic fillers, additives and surface treatment agents for inorganic fillers have been investigated to improve this adhesion. As a result, combinations of various aminosilane compounds and polyester-based urethane-based, epoxy-based acrylic-based, and vinyl acetate-based resins have been developed as surface treatment agents, and maleic anhydride styrene copolymers have been developed as additives. . Specifically, a styrene/maleic anhydride-styrene/glass fiber composition (Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 55-161E136, JP-A-55-161E136; (Kokai No. 4919097) and the like are known. However, even with these, the improvement effects were still not sufficient.

Specification No. 4923 discloses a resin composition having excellent heat resistance and mechanical properties by adding an inorganic filler to syndiotactic polystyrene, a thermoplastic resin to syndiotactic polystyrene, and/or an inorganic filler to rubber. Proposed. However, even in these compositions, the adhesion between the syndiotactic polystyrene and the inorganic filler was insufficient, and there was room for improvement.

The impact resistance was low, and none had an Izot impact value (with a non-touch) exceeding 6.0 kg-cm/cm, and an improvement in impact resistance was desired.

It has a three-dimensional structure in which phenyl groups and substituted phenyl groups are alternately positioned in opposite directions, and its toughness is determined by nuclear magnetic resonance (C3C-NMR) using carbon isotopes.

First, as styrene polymers without functional groups, in addition to the styrene polymers shown in component (A) above, the styrenic polymers shown in component (A) include acrylonitrile 5-methyl methacrylate, methachloronitrile, etc. Examples include styrenic polymers into which at least one of the following compounds is introduced. The amount of this styrene polymer added to polyphenylene ether is preferably 80% by weight or less.

Reference may be made to the specifications of No. 7 and No. 3,257,358. Polyphenylene ethers are usually prepared by oxidative coupling reactions to form homopolymers or copolymers in the presence of a copper amine complex, one or more tri- or tri-substituted phenols. Here, as the copper amine complex, a copper amine complex derived from a primary, secondary, and/or tertiary amine can be used. Examples of suitable polyphenylene ethers are poly(2,3-dimethyl-6-nitylphenylene=1,4-ether) poly(2-methyl-6-chloromethyl-1,4phenylene)ether poly(2-methyl-6 - hydroxydiethyl].

Examples include a method of melt-kneading and reacting at a temperature of 0° C., and a method of heating and reacting polyphenylene ether with a compound having both a polar group and an unsaturated group in a solvent such as Hensen, toluene, or xylene. Furthermore, in order to facilitate these reactions, organic peroxides such as hensyl peroxide, di-t-butyl peroxide, dicumyl peroxide, L-butyl peroxyhenzoate, and azobisisobutyroyl peroxide are added to the reaction system. It is effective to have a radical initiator represented by an azo compound such as nitrile or azobisisovaleronitrile. A more effective method is melt-kneading in the presence of a radical initiator.
