Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain suitable noise eliminating effect corresponding to engine operating condition by providing control valves to two exhaust pipes, which penetrate a muffler shell as branched pipes, one at the front of the shell and the other at the rear of the shell, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust pipe 5 penetrates a shell 4 in the form of branched exhaust pipes 6 and 7. The exhaust pipes 6 and 7 are provided with plenty of small holes 8 within the shell 4 and covered with a small, noise eliminator 10 filled with sound absorbing material 9. 数本の排気管のうち少なくとも1本は前記小消音器より
出た部分に、他の少なくとも1本は前記小消音器へ入る
手前部分にエンジン運転状態により開閉する制御バルブ
をそれぞれ設けて制御型消音器を構成する。
