機を結合したものにおいて、該発電機出力電力の
少なくとも一部を用いて駆動される電動機と、該
電動機により回わされる空気圧縮機と、該空気圧
縮機によりつくられる圧縮空気を貯える高圧空気
容器と、高圧空気容器に貯えられた高圧空気をエ
ンジンの給気管に供給する管路と、エンジンのカ
ム軸を高圧空気運転に適した給排気タイミングと
なるように切替える装置とを有してなる4サイク
ルエンジン。 (2) 前記高圧空気容器に貯えられた高圧空気を
エンジンの給気管に供給する管路内に排気熱交換
器を設け、エンジンへの高圧給気を排気ガスで加
熱するように構成した第1請求項記載の4サイク
