In the pot-type burner mentioned above, the inside of the pot below the inverted dish-shaped disc is mainly a mixing area of air and vaporized kerosene gas, and the combustion of the mixed gas is carried out from the gap between the inverted dish-shaped disc and the pot. This is done using air supplied from air holes that are concentrated in the upper part of the gap. The small holes provided in the inverted dish-shaped disk act as a pressure relief when the pressure in the mixing zone increases abnormally, and the mixed gas that escapes from the small holes is located close to the combustion zone so that it can be easily completely combusted. It is arranged around an inverted dish-shaped disc.

On the other hand, abnormal combustion in a burner occurs when the balance between the amount of air and the amount of kerosene is lost. The length of the burner flame changes depending on the amount of air, so when the amount of air is excessive and the flame becomes short. When the flame does not reach the flame detection electrode installed in the normal position, an abnormality is detected by the decrease in flame current. On the other hand, when the flame becomes longer due to lack of air, the flame reaches the position where the flame normally cannot reach during combustion. A method is known from Utility Model Application No. 58-31861 and others in which a detection electrode is attached and an abnormality is detected by an increase in the flame current of the flame detection electrode.

By the way, the flame during normal combustion flickers within a certain range, and even if this flickering occurs, the flame detection electrode is configured to judge it as normal combustion, so if the flame becomes short due to excessive air flow, it will cause an emergency. Since no flame was detected only after the flame became small, the delay in detection was noticeable.

This idea detects an abnormal state by using the configuration of a pot burner.
It is a cylindrical pot with a bottom attached inside. The upper part of the pot 2 is integrally attached to the wall of the wind barrel 1, and air holes 4 are bored in the side wall. 3 is an inverted dish-shaped disk placed in the upper center of pot 2, 8
is a mixing ring attached to the wall of pot 2 below disk 3. The air holes 4 formed in the pot 2 are concentrated particularly on the sides of the inverted dish-shaped disc 3,
The air supplied from the air holes 4 in this part is mainly used for combustion, and the air supplied from the air holes 4 on the side wall of the pot 2 corresponding to the lower part of the inverted dish-shaped disc 3 is mainly used for mixing with oil gas. . Reference numeral 5 denotes small holes drilled in the inverted dish-shaped disc 3, and a plurality of small holes are arranged in a ring shape around the periphery of the disc 3. Reference numeral 6 denotes an abnormality detection electrode that is placed into one of the small holes 5 from below the dish-shaped disc 3, and when the abnormality detection electrode 6 detects flame current, combustion of the burner is stopped.

9 is a fuel supply device consisting of an electromagnetic pump that supplies fuel to the pot 2; 10 is an ignition heater that also serves as preheating of the pot 2; and 11 is a flame detection electrode. The flame detection electrode 11 is designed so that the burner continues to burn when a flame current is detected.

The continuation of combustion from ignition of the pot type burner is the same as in the conventional one, and when the ignition heater 10 and the blower 7 are energized and fuel is supplied to the pot 2 by the fuel supply device 9, ignition combustion starts. The main combustion is carried out by air supplied from the air holes 4 on the sides of the inverted dish-shaped disc 3, and the flame detection electrode 11 detects the flame current to continue combustion in the burner.

By the way, the fuel sent into the pot 2 is vaporized by the heat of combustion, and a mixed gas is created with the air supplied into the pot 2 from the air hole 4 corresponding to the lower part of the disk 3.
Since the flame flows upward through the gap between the flame and the wall of the pot 2 and burns, ionization due to combustion does not occur to the extent that a large flame current flows below the inverted dish-shaped disk 3. In addition, when the mixed gas escapes upward from the small hole 5 of the inverted dish-shaped disk 3, air is difficult to reach this part, and ionization of combustion does not occur to the extent that a large flame current flows in this part as well.

When an over-air condition occurs, air is removed from air hole 4 to pot 2.
The amount of air supplied to the interior of the disk increases, and combustion also takes place in the pot 2 at the bottom of the inverted dish-shaped inner plate 3 (partial combustion occurs in the mixing area, making it difficult to obtain a good mixed gas). Since the amount of air supplied from the side air holes 4 increases, combustion can be completed with a small flame, and the flame is blown off, making it easier to discharge incomplete combustion gas.

When this abnormal state is detected by the flame current in the mixing region, ionization due to combustion progresses and an increase in the flame current is observed, but it is not a major change. However, if we focus on the small holes 5 of the inverted dish-shaped disk 3, we can see that the upper part of the disk 3 has an excess of air, making it easier for fresh air to reach, and the combustion of the air that escapes upward from the small holes 5 is different from normal combustion. Since the flame current is greatly accelerated in comparison, a large flame current can now be detected when the abnormality detection electrode 6 is looked into the small hole 5 from below the dish-shaped disk 3.

As described above, in this invention, the abnormality detection electrode 6 is inserted into the mixing area at the bottom of the inverted dish-shaped disk 3, and its tip is made to look into the small hole 5 of the disk 3, so that ionization due to combustion when there is excess air is prevented. As time progressed, it became possible to reliably detect an increase in flame current. Therefore, by setting the burner to stop combustion when the flame current is detected by the abnormality detection electrode 6, abnormal combustion caused by excess air can be quickly dealt with, and the safety of the pot burner can be improved.
