Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent any faulty operation of a relay by connecting the collector- emitter of a transistor between the relay and the output terminal of a relay drive circuit, and connecting a time constant circuit consisted of a capacitor and a resistor to a base. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a drive circuit 1 for driving a relay 2, a transistor 3 for connecting a collector and an emitter to the drive winding of the relay 2 and the output terminal of the drive circuit 1, respectively, a capacitor 4 connected between the base of the transistor 3 and the earth, and a resistor 5 connected between the base of the transistor 3 and a power source terminal 7 adapted to supply a voltage required for driving the relay 2. Each time constant of the resistor 5 and a capacitor 4 is determined in such a manner that the transistor 3 is kept to be turned off during a time longer than an earth potential output time even if the drive circuit 1 temporarily outputs an earth potential upon turning-on a power source. Therefore, any faulty operation of the relay 2 upon turning-on the power source can be prevented.

In FIG. 1, this embodiment includes a relay 2, a drive circuit 1 that drives the relay 2, a transistor 3 whose collector is connected to the drive winding of the relay 2, and whose emitter is connected to the output terminal of the drive circuit 1; It has a capacitor 4 connected between the base and the ground, and a resistor 5 connected between the base of the transistor 3 and a power supply terminal 7 that supplies voltage (+■) for driving the relay 2. In normal use, a positive voltage is applied to the base of transistor 3 by resistor 5, so transistor 3
is in the on state. Therefore, when a drive signal is input to the input terminal 6 of the drive circuit 1 and the output terminal of the drive circuit 1 becomes the earth's potential, a predetermined drive current flows through the relay 2, and the relay 2 becomes operational.

However, in a transient state such as when the power is turned on from off, the base of transistor 3 remains at a voltage close to earth potential for a certain period of time due to the charging characteristics of capacitor 4 and resistor 5, and transistor 3 It stays off for a certain period of time. Therefore, even if the drive circuit 1 temporarily outputs the ground potential when the power is turned on, the time constants of the resistor 5 and the capacitor 4 are set so that the transistor 3 is turned off only for a period that exceeds the ground potential output period. By selecting this, it is possible to prevent the relay 2 from malfunctioning when the power is turned on.

As explained above, the present invention connects the collector emitter of the transistor between the relay and the output terminal of the relay drive circuit, and connects the time constant of the capacitor and resistor to the base, so that when the power is turned on, the transistor Since the circuit is turned off for a certain period of time determined by a time constant, it is possible to prevent malfunction of the relay even if the earth's potential is temporarily output from the output terminal of the relay drive circuit when the power is turned on.
