This invention relates to an image and audio mixed information providing system that controls the interval independently of the transmission time of the information center and the speed of the transmission line. It is assumed that the images and sounds are each given an identification code and are digitized and stored.

For example, if the audio information is V (b/s)
When encoded at a data rate of V(b/s), the information center had to insert audio information at an appropriate time during the transmission of the image information at a data rate of V(b/s). This has resulted in the disadvantage that the information center requires a device for supplying information to the terminals at a constant data rate. Also, information provided with a single request from a terminal (hereinafter referred to as a page)
It is conceivable to make the data rate between the information center and the terminal arbitrary by equipping the terminal with a memory that can store all of the data, but this method has the disadvantage that the terminal requires memory for one page.

内に滞留されている。 To operate this, a read request is made from the input section 5 to the information center 1 through the uplink 3. The information center 1 retrieves the screen for which the read request has been made and outputs it to the communication buffer 6 of the terminal 2 via the downlink 4. The communication buffer 6 sends the received information to the image/audio information sorting section 7. If the speed at which the image/audio information sorting section 7 receives is slower than the speed at which the information center 1 sends out, it requests the information center 1 to stop sending information through the uplink 3 before the communication buffer 6 overflows. Thereafter, when the communication buffer becomes available, a request is made to the information center 1 via the uplink 3 to resume information transmission. In this way, the data rate of the downlink information can be controlled according to the reproduction speed of the image and audio. The image/audio information separation section 7 separates the image/audio mixed information into image information and audio information based on the respective control codes.
The separated audio information and delimiter code are sent to a prefix delimiter detection section 8, and after delimiter code A or B is detected, the audio information and delimiter code are sent to an audio buffer 9, respectively. Further, the contents of the audio buffer 9 are sent to the post-delimiter detection section 10 through the gate A12 while the gate A12 is on. At this time, after the delimiter codes A and B are detected again in the post-delimiter detecting section 10, the audio reproducing section 1
3 and the audio information is reproduced as audio. The delimiter counter A11 counts the difference between the delimiter A detected by the prefix delimiter detecting section 8 and the delimiter A detected by the postdelimiter detecting section 10. Indicates the number of delimiters A in the current state. Similarly, the delimiter counter B14 counts the difference between the delimiter B detected by the prefix delimiter detection section 8 and the delimiter B detected by the postdelimiter detection section 10, and exists in the audio buffer 9. Indicates the number of delimiters B in the current state. The gate A12 is for transferring audio information from the audio buffer 9 to the post-delimiter detecting section 10 only when the content of the delimiter counter A11 is 1 or more. That is, audio reproduction is performed only when one or more delimiters A exist in the audio buffer. The gate B15 is for transferring image information from the image/audio information sorting section 7 to the image information display section 16 only when the content of the delimiter counter B14 is 0. That is, when the delimiter B exists in the audio buffer, the display of a new image is inhibited, and the next image can be presented after a certain audio is played back. When the gate B15 is in the off state, the information is transferred to the communication buffer 6.
is retained within.

A series of information from delimiter A to delimiter A is called a block. After the block storage is completed, the terminal starts audio playback. Delimiter code B is a code that specifies that the display of the next image information should be started after all previous audio information has been reproduced, and is placed between the audio information and the image information, and is placed between the audio information and the image information. Used to save the order of image display. A series of information from delimiter B to delimiter B is called a segment. FIG. 2 is an explanatory diagram illustrating the effect of delimiter A, and FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram illustrating the effect of delimiter B. FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram showing the relationship between segments and blocks that make up one screen. Generally, one screen is composed of a plurality of segments that preserve the order of display playback. Each segment consists of multiple blocks that allow interruptions.
