First, when the operation starts, necessary devices are initialized (steps S1 and S2), and the CPU 100 causes the motor M3 to operate in normal rotation at high speed via the interface 105 (step S3). This results in
The belt 24 of the conveyance mechanism 20 is driven in the M direction shown in the figure. Then, the motor M1 is similarly driven (step S4), and the transport mechanisms 1, 4, and 9 are operated, respectively. Thus, when the motor M1 is driven, the banknotes from the deposit slot are transferred to the transport mechanism 1 and the rollers 2.
The banknotes are conveyed to the recognition device 3 via the banknotes, and the type and authenticity of the banknotes are identified in the recognition device 3 (step S
5), these data are transferred via data bus DB
It is recorded in RAM102. Then, it is determined whether or not it is necessary to reject the banknote (step S6), and if there is no need to reject the banknote, the number of inserted banknotes is sequentially counted using a separate RAM (counter) 102 (step S7). ). On the other hand, if redirection is necessary, the motor M2 is driven via the interface 105 (step S30), the passage switching piece 6 is rotated counterclockwise as shown in the figure, and the transfer mechanism 4 is switched. The transported banknotes to be rejected are sent to a transport mechanism 9 via rollers 8. When the banknotes are conveyed in the conveyance mechanism 9, the sensor PS10 detects the passage of the banknotes (step S31), and the banknotes are further conveyed and rejected to the reject port. In this way, when the reject banknote is conveyed by the conveyance mechanism 9, the sensor PS

By the way, the banknote depositing device of this invention is capable of processing up to 200 banknotes at once, and the number of banknotes to be processed at a time can be set to 3 types: 100 or less, 100 or more but 150 or less, and 150 or more but 200 or less. Separated into seeds.
However, the deposited banknotes counted by a counter etc.
1 sequentially by the conveyance mechanism 20 via the passage switching piece 6.
The banknotes are conveyed one by one to the temporary holding section 40, and the conveyance state at each position of the banknotes in this case is shown in FIGS. 4A to 4D.
As shown in FIG. 2, the endless belt 17 of the transport mechanism 10 ensures that the sheets are aligned and piled up in the temporary storage section 40. In this way, the banknotes are stacked one after another in the temporary storage section 40, but if the number of banknotes is up to 100, the pressing means 50 remains as it is, and 100 banknotes are piled up in the temporary storage section 40. Then (step S8), the CPU 100 is increased according to the count value of the counter.
drives the motor M4 in normal rotation to move the banknote pressing means 50 backward in the direction B (step S9), and the sensor PS4
When the press plate 51 is detected (step S10), the drive of the motor M4 is stopped (step S11),
As a result, the space in the temporary storage section 40 is freed up for banknotes.
The amount is for up to 150 sheets. Also, when 150 banknotes are conveyed, the motor M4 is similarly driven in normal rotation (steps S40, S41), and when the sensor PS5 detects the pressing plate 51, the motor M4 is stopped and the banknotes are transferred.
Prepare space for up to 200 sheets (Step S4)
2, S43). When the drive of the motor M4 is stopped in this way, it is determined whether or not there are banknotes in the deposit slot using a separate sensor (step S12). If there are banknotes, the above-mentioned operation is further repeated and the banknotes If not, motors M1 and M3 are stopped after a predetermined time period (step S13). As a result, subsequent deposits of banknotes are stopped.

When the driving of the motors M1 and M3 is stopped in this manner, the CPU 100 next determines whether the command from the command device 103 is "storage" or "return" (steps S14, S50).
In the case of "storing", the motor M4 is reversed to advance the press plate 51 in the F direction, and when the sensor PS6 detects the press plate 51 and turns on, the motor M4 is stopped (step S15,
S16, S17). The banknotes NT held in the temporary holding unit 40 by this pressing operation are transferred to the transport mechanism 20.
It is pressed and held between the rollers 52 and 53 of the pressing plate 51, and is ready for batch processing. That is, the temporarily reserved banknotes and the pressing plate 51,
Belt 24 is positioned. In this case, the pulley 23 of the banknote transport mechanism 20 is pushed by the pressure of the banknote NT,
Although it swings via the rotating piece 31, its range of swing is balanced by the elastic force of the spring 32 and the pressure of the banknote NT (see FIG. 5B).
Next, the CPU 100 reverses the motor M3 at low speed via the interface 105 (step S1).
8) By driving the belt 24 in the N direction, the banknotes NT stored in the temporary storage section 40 as shown in FIG. Money can be stored and deposited through the storage opening 71. In this case, the banknote transport mechanism 2

Similarly, the rollers 52 and 53 of the press plate 51 rotate to rotate, for example, 100 sheets.
Even for a large number of banknotes, such as 200 banknotes, the banknotes can be delivered between the conveyance mechanisms 10 and 20 and stored and deposited in bulk into the safe 70 from between the belts 14 and 24 without losing their shape. It is. In this way, when the banknotes NT held in the temporary holding unit 40 are deposited all at once into the safe 70, the sensor PS9 detects the deposited banknotes (step S9), and the CPU 100 thereby stops the motor M3 (step S9). S20). Further, by driving the motor M4 in normal rotation (step S21), the banknote pressing means 5
0 in the direction B, and the pressing plate 51 presses the sensor PS.
When the machine reaches position 3, the motor M4 is stopped (steps S22 to S24), and the temporary holding section 40 is prepared to hold up to 100 banknotes.

On the other hand, if the content of the command device 103 is "return", the return lid 60 is opened by driving the motor M5 in normal rotation, and when the sensor PS8 detects this opening operation, the drive of the motor M5 is stopped (step S50). ~S53). When the return lid 60 is opened in this way, the motor M4 is then reversed to advance the press plate 51 in the F direction (step S54), and when the sensor PS6 detects the press plate 51, the motor M5 is rotated forward at low speed. drive (step S5)
5, S56), the belt 24 of the conveyance mechanism 20 is moved in the M direction to facilitate the extraction of banknotes NT. In this way, as shown in FIG. 5B, an operator or the like can take out the banknotes NT stored in the temporary storage unit 40 from the return slot 61 all at once, and when the banknotes NT are pulled out, the sensor PS1 is detected (step S57), and as a result, the CPU 10
0 stops driving the motor M3 (step S5)
8). Further, when the banknote NT is removed from the temporary holding section 40, this is detected by the sensor PS2 (step S59), and the return lid 60 is closed by driving the motor M5 in normal rotation (step S60). In this way, when the return cover 60 is closed, this is the sensor PS.
7, so the motor M5 is stopped (steps S61 and S62). When the return lid 60 is closed in this way, the motor M4 is driven in the normal rotation as in the case of the storage operation described above.
Retract the pressing plate 51 to the position of the sensor PS3,
Waiting for the next bill to be deposited.

In addition, in the above-mentioned embodiment, the number of banknotes held in the temporary holding section is set to 200, and the capacity of the holding space is changed in units of 100 and 150 notes.
The number of these sheets is arbitrary. Furthermore, the structures of the banknote conveying mechanism 10 and the banknote pressing means 50 are not limited to the structure shown in FIG. 1, but may be any structure that can press and hold temporarily held banknotes or stored or cooled banknotes. Furthermore, in this invention, regarding the rotational directions of the first and second conveying means, the feeding direction to the temporary holding section is called normal rotation, and the opposite direction is called reverse rotation, but this is only for convenience. It goes without saying that it is not limited to words such as "existence", "normal rotation", and "reverse rotation".
