Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent previously printing inferiority such as a printing blur or the like from occurring by a method wherein a joint of an ink ribbon is detected, and printing near the joint is avoided. CONSTITUTION:A magnetized part 2 is provided near a joint 1b of an ink ribbon 1a. The magnetized part 2 is annexed to an end of the ink ribbon on a before stage of the ink ribbon before and after the joint. In the case where the magnetized part 2 of the ink ribbon 1a is detected by a magnetism detecting part 3, a control part 6 interrupts temporarily printing and besides, operates a ribbon feed mechanism 5. A constant distance of the ink ribbon 1a is sent by rotating a reel in a cassette 1, and the joint 1b of the ink ribbon 1a is forcibly made to pass a printing head part of an impact type printer, and an ink face other than the joint 1b of the ink ribbon 1a is made to face a front of the printing head. Printing at the joint 1b of the ink ribbon 1a is avoided thereby.

後のインクリボンのうち前段側のインクリボンの末端に
