Most conventional headrests in reclining rear seats of automobiles are of a fixed type integrated with the seatback, so when the seatback is reclined, the headrest also rotates largely around the center of rotation of the seatback. As a result, the seat occupant is forced to gradually shift from a posture looking toward the front of the vehicle to a posture looking toward the ceiling as the headrest rotates, and is forced to experience the unpleasant sensation of a change in the angle of his or her line of sight.

Among conventional rear seats, there were some that were able to adjust the inclination angle of the headrest, but in all of them, the angle was adjusted by the passenger himself, making the adjustment extremely complicated and troublesome. Ta.

The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned problems, and is a reclining system that is characterized by minimizing changes in the head posture of the seated occupant due to the rotation of the seat back, as well as changes in the angle of the line of sight. Provides a headrest device for a rear seat.

In the above, the headrest 8 is a mounting plate 1 which is pivotally supported on the upper side end surface of the seat back 7 by a pin 16.
It is attached via 5. The headrest 8 has an inverted L-shaped cross section with an upper portion bent rearward, and the tip of the bent portion 8a and the tip of the rear shelf 9 are connected by a bellows 11 that can be expanded and contracted. The bellows 11 covers the gap between the tip of the headrest bent portion 8a and the tip of the rear shelf 9 over the width of the vehicle body. Reference numeral 12 denotes sliders which are pivotally mounted in pairs on the left and right sides of the lower surface of the headrest bending portion 8a. Reference numeral 13 denotes a guide rail for slidingly guiding the slider 12, one end of which is located below the tip of the rear shelf 9, and the other end. The headrest bending portion 8a gradually increases in height and extends in a gentle curve toward the bottom of the headrest bending portion 8a, and both ends thereof are supported by brackets 14, 14 fixed to the side plates of the vehicle body. The engagement relationship between the slider 12 and the guide rail 13 may be of a slidable dovetail groove type as shown in FIG. 2, or may be of other types. Therefore, the engaging sliding members 12, 1
The assembly members according to No. 3 are not limited to being provided as a left and right pair, but may be provided at one location in the center if the function is sufficient.

Next, the curvature of the guide rail 13 will be explained. The position of the pin 16 due to the reclining rotation of the seat bag 7, in other words, the rotation radius of the pivot point of the headrest 8 is constant. Further, the posture of the headrest 8 in the longitudinal direction with respect to the vehicle body can be expressed by the degree of inclination of a straight line (hereinafter referred to as a headrest posture line) connecting the pivot point of the headrest and the pivot point of the slider 12 with respect to the vehicle body. Therefore, in order to keep the posture of the headrest 8 substantially constant with respect to the vehicle body regardless of the reclining rotation of the seatback 7, it is necessary to use mathematical formulas of analytical geometry.
Since the movement trajectory of the pivot point of the slider with the headrest attitude line having a constant inclination with respect to the movement trajectory of the pivot point can be easily obtained by drawing, the guide rail 1 can be easily determined by drawing the movement trajectory of the pivot point.
The radius of curvature is 3, and the curvature that is its reciprocal can be found. The guide rail 13 of this embodiment is formed as described above, and its curvature is set smaller than the curvature of the pivot point movement locus of the headrest 8, needless to say.

In the above configuration, when the lever 10a of the mechanical lock 10 is operated to tilt the seat back 7 forward or backward, the headrest 8 will move forward or backward toward the guide rail 1.
3 and moves via the slider 12, but it goes without saying that in this case some displacement in the vertical direction is involved. Considering the case where the seat back 7 is tilted backward while it is in the forward position, the tilting position of the pin 16 at the top of the seat back transmits only rearward displacement and some downward displacement to the pivot point of the headrest 8; It is not directly related to the displacement of the posture (specifically, the headrest posture line). The posture of the headrest described above is exclusively for the slider 1 guided by the guide rail 13.
The curvature of the guide rail is designed so that the headrest posture line maintains a substantially constant inclination, so the headrest posture remains unchanged regardless of the tilting of the seatback. This is substantially constant, and the head of the seated occupant who is leaning against it, and by extension, for example, the line of sight angle of the seated occupant looking toward the front of the vehicle can be kept constant with almost no change.

A telescopic bellows 11 provided in the gap between the headrest 8 and the rear shelf 9 is located at the front and back of the headrest.
Even when moving in the vertical direction, the gap is always covered, giving a good appearance and preventing small items placed on the rear shelf from falling into the gap.
