That is, if we take a surface acoustic wave filter as an example,
As shown in FIG. 1, a shield pattern 4 is provided on the substrate between the input/output interdigital transducer electrodes 2 and 3 provided on the piezoelectric substrate 1, and this is grounded, or as shown in FIG. Either minimize the gap h between the surface of the base 6 to which the barrel filter 5 is fixed and the ceiling of the cap 7, or
As shown in the figure, a method was used in which a conductor block or plate 8 for blocking direct waves was fixed to the ceiling of the cap 7.

However, the first method described above is ineffective unless there is sufficient spacing between the input and output interdigital transducer electrodes 2 and 3, and the second method requires consideration of input/output terminal tips, wiring, etc. For example, the gap h between the ceiling of the case 7 and the surface of the base 6 naturally has a limit.

Furthermore, a third method is to attach the shield member 8 to the cap 7.
The defect was that the man-hours required to attach the case to the ceiling were extremely high compared to the overall cost of the case.

The present invention was made to eliminate the defects of the conventional shielding method as described above, and between the input and output terminals provided through the base, a grounded cap of good conductivity is used to seal the base. By recessing the ceiling during the manufacturing process, it becomes a barrier to prevent direct waves between the input and output terminals, and provides a case for high frequency devices that has a sufficient shielding effect and is suitable for mass production and is inexpensive. The purpose is to do.

In this figure, the base 6 is a metal plate formed by compression molding or the like, and the input/output terminals 9 and 10 are connected to the base by cover glass 13 filled in the through holes 11 and 12 of the base 6. 6. On the surface of the base 6, the input/output terminal 9
A high frequency device, for example a surface acoustic wave filter 5, is fixed between the terminals 9 and 10, and is connected to the tips of the terminals 9 and 10 by bonding wires 14 and 15, respectively.

By doing so, the input/output terminals 9 and 10
A direct wave propagating between the cap and the cap is absorbed by the recess of the cap, and the current generated here is dropped to the ground via, for example, the case ground, so that a sufficient shielding effect can be obtained.

In order to further increase the shielding effect, as shown in FIG. 5, a recess 17 is provided in the high frequency device installation part of the base 6, and the recess 16 on the ceiling of the cap 7 is fitted into this recess. The line of sight between the input/output terminals 9 and 10 may be completely blocked.
