Hydrothermal synthesis is a method of synthesizing materials using an aqueous solution in an autoclave at a predetermined temperature and pressure. When growing artificial quartz, raw materials such as natural quartz are placed in the lower part of the autoclave, seed crystals are suspended in the upper part, and a temperature difference is created between the raw material part and the seed crystal part to grow the crystals. The aqueous solution used at this time is an alkaline aqueous solution such as NaOH or Na2CO3. Also, the growth temperature is 32
The temperature is 0 to 400°C.

Therefore, corrosion of the pressure vessel becomes a problem, and metal substances from the pressure vessel become mixed into the crystal. In addition, when an alkaline aqueous solution is used as a solvent, the growth temperature is 320°C to 400°C, and it is desirable to be able to grow at as low a temperature as possible, considering prevention of thermal distortion in the crystal, corrosion of the pressure vessel, etc. .

Crystals are crystallized or grown on a suitable substrate by transporting nutrients using temperature differences. It has the effect of reducing defects inside the crystal that occur due to the effects of strain, etc. In addition, corrosion of the pressure vessel is reduced, and impurities generated by corrosion are less likely to be mixed into the crystal. In any case, according to the present invention, optical grade artificial quartz crystal can be grown using the currently used autoclave for artificial quartz crystals, and the effect is extremely large. Moreover, it is effective in improving the characteristics of a single optical element component in general.
