Oil pan membrane vibration occurs when pressure fluctuations within the oil pan due to vibrations of the engine body or vertical movement of the piston are transmitted to the side wall of the oil pan, which is flat and has a relatively wide area, and this resonates. In order to reduce this membrane vibration of the oil pan, it has been proposed that a reinforcing metal plate is fixed to the side wall of the oil pan to give rigidity to the side wall of the oil pan (see, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application No. 55-28778). ), it has been experimentally confirmed that the reinforcing metal plate itself resonates in the high-speed range of the engine (for example, 3000 rpm or higher), resulting in an adverse effect.

Also, as shown in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 55-28779,
It has also been proposed to suppress membrane vibration of the oil pan by extending a plurality of rod-shaped reinforcing members between both side walls of the oil pan. However, according to this method, multiple rod-shaped reinforcing members are required, which not only increases the number of parts but also complicates the work of fixing each rod-shaped reinforcing member to the side walls by welding or the like. A problem arises. Furthermore, as will be described later, the points on the side wall that effectively suppress the membrane vibration are limited to some extent, but fixing the ends of the rod-shaped reinforcing members to the side wall at these multiple points is
This is difficult due to structural restrictions, restrictions on the number of parts, and restrictions on workability, and it is difficult to fully demonstrate the membrane vibration reduction effect.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides an oil pan which is arranged in an inclined manner and whose lower side wall is covered with oil, has flanges at both ends, and the middle part of both flanges has a large section modulus and a flat part. A stiffener formed in a small shape is fixed to the inner surface of the upper and lower side walls of the oil pan by spot welding at a plurality of locations on both flanges thereof, and at least the upper flanges of both the flanges are fixed to the inner surfaces of the upper and lower side walls of the oil pan. It is characterized in that the portion is formed in a size that covers a plurality of antinodes of membrane vibration of the upper side wall.

The oil pan A of this embodiment is arranged in an inclined manner as shown in FIG. 1, and has a lower member 8 welded to an upper member 7. In this oil pan A,
Membrane vibration is a problem in the opposing side walls 5 and 6 of the lower member 6, but the lower side wall (hereinafter referred to as the lower wall) 6 is covered with oil in the oil pan A. Because of this, the occurrence of membrane vibration is slight, so the side wall 5 located on the upper side (hereinafter referred to as the upper side wall) is particularly problematic in terms of membrane vibration generation. In consideration of this, the size of the flange portion (hereinafter referred to as the upper flange portion) 2 located on the inner upper side of both flange portions 2 and 3 of the stiffener 1 is determined to be equal to the number of antinodes of the membrane vibration of the upper wall 5. It is formed to a size that can cover the next belly and the secondary belly. Flange part located on the lower side (hereinafter referred to as the lower flange part) 3
is formed smaller than the upper flange portion 2.

The upper flange portion 2 and the lower flange portion 3 are spot welded at a plurality of locations (spot welding points are indicated by a) approximately at the center of the inner surface of the upper wall 5 and approximately at the center of the inner surface of the lower wall 6, respectively. It is twisted and fixed.

As shown in FIG. 3, the upper flange portion 2 is fixed to the inner surface of the upper wall 5 by spot welding at three locations. It has been experimentally confirmed that the first-order antinode and the second-order antinode in the membrane vibration of the upper wall 5 appear at the positions indicated by p, q, q, q, q in FIG. If the size of the upper flange portion 2 is determined to cover all of these, and spot welding points a, a... are determined at locations corresponding to the antinodes p, q, q, q, q of the membrane vibration, the membrane The vibration reduction effect is maximum (it is also possible to configure the present invention in this way), but due to space constraints, work constraints, cost constraints, etc., in this embodiment, 1. the next antinode p and the two quadratic antinodes q,
The size and shape of the upper flange portion 2 are determined so as to be able to cover the points q, and the three spot welding points a, a, and a are determined near the points p, q, and q. As described above, the present embodiment has a slightly inferior effect of reducing membrane vibration compared to the above-mentioned ideal case, but is configured to effectively suppress the vibrations of the plurality of antinodes p, q, and q of membrane vibration. Therefore, it has a remarkable effect of reducing membrane vibration compared to the conventional example.

In this embodiment, the stiffener 1 also plays the role of a buffle plate that dampens oil waves. Therefore, in the conventional example, generally a pair of buttful plates were required at the front and rear, but
In this embodiment, the configuration can be such that the buff-full plate on the rear side is omitted, and only the buff-full plate 9 on the front side is provided. In addition, 10 is an oil strainer.

The present invention can be configured in various ways other than those shown in the above embodiments. For example, in the above embodiment, 1
The stiffener 1 is formed by pressing two steel plates, and both flange parts 2 and 3
The stiffener 1 may be constructed by welding the intermediate portions 4 and 4 separately, respectively, and welding them together to form the stiffener 1. In this case, the intermediate portion 4 may be a metal tube. Note that the cross-sectional shape of the intermediate portion 4 is not limited to a square shape or a circle, but it is preferable that it has a larger cross-sectional modulus and a smaller flat surface compared to a flat plate-like shape such as a semicircular, square, or dog-shaped shape. Of course.

The slanted oil pan of this invention has a lower side wall that is almost entirely covered with oil and where membrane vibration is least likely to occur, and a larger area compared to a normal oil pan so that almost the entire surface is exposed to air. By using a stiffener to connect the upper side wall, which is exposed to the upper side wall and where membrane vibration is most likely to occur, membrane vibration on the upper side wall can be reduced, and at the same time, membrane vibration that occurs slightly on the lower side wall can also be reduced. . Moreover, since the upper flange portion of the stiffener is formed in a size that covers the plurality of antinodes of the membrane vibration on the upper side wall, it is possible to restrain the points on the upper side wall (the plurality of antinodes of the membrane vibration). Moreover, the middle part of both flanges of the stiffener is formed in a shape with a large section modulus and few flat parts, and as a result, the membrane vibration suppressing effect of the flange parts can be ensured, which is much more effective than in the conventional example. The membrane vibration of the side wall of the oil pan can be reduced, and the noise caused by the membrane vibration can also be reduced. Furthermore, this noise reduction effect is maintained even in the high speed range of the engine.

Also, according to the present invention, one stiffener is used,
In addition, since an oil pan that achieves the above effects can be constructed simply by spot welding both flanges, the number of parts can be reduced and , the stiffener fixing work can be performed efficiently.
