There are known techniques to do this. Such a technique is disclosed in, for example, Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 62-220750.

Therefore, if the next shift determination occurs before the shift timer ends, the shift timer is restarted, so no shift occurs while the shift timer is operating.

The operating time of the shift timer could not be made too long because the feeling would deteriorate.

If the next gear change decision is made before the end of the shift, the gear change will be performed again only if the next gear change is in the same direction as the previous gear change. To explain with reference to Figure 3,
In FIG. 3(a), after upshifting from 2nd to 3rd, the shift from 3rd to 4th occurs before timer t1 ends.
If there is a decision to upshift to , the shift is executed. However, as shown in Figure 3(b), from 2nd to 3
Timer 1 after rd hair shift. If there is a decision to downshift from 3rd to 2nd before the end of the shift, the shift will not be executed. The same is true for downshifts; if downshifts occur consecutively as shown in Figure 3 (C), a gear change is performed, but if a downshift is followed by an upshift as shown in Figure 3 (d). When a judgment is made, no gear shifting is performed.

Therefore, since only a hunting state in which the gear is changed and then returned to the original gear is prohibited, the predetermined time can be set to be relatively long. Therefore, the number of gear shifts is reduced, and shift shock can be further reduced.
