[Prior Art] The thermal transfer method, which is one of the output printing methods for computers and word processors, can print clearly on plain paper, but it has the disadvantage that the print is shiny and difficult to read. This is because a plastic film is used as the base film. Recently, polyester films that exhibit high strength even when the thickness is only about 1.6 μm are often used as base films, and there is a strong demand for thermal transfer sheets that can print mattely even in such cases. Furthermore, if the base film is a plastic film, it generates a lot of static electricity, which can cling to hands or attract dust, so it is desirable to apply antistatic treatment to the base film. In general, used thermal transfer sheets can handle the ink in the printed areas and are readable. For confidentiality reasons, it is preferable that the information is unreadable. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] An object of the present invention is to provide a thermal transfer sheet that can perform matte printing and has antistatic and confidentiality functions as required, in response to the above-mentioned demand for improvements to thermal transfer sheets. There is a particular thing. Structure of the Invention [Means for Solving the Problems] The thermal transfer sheet of the present invention comprises a base film and a matte layer and a heat-fusible ink layer provided in this order. For the base film, use a commonly used plastic film such as polyester, or paper such as condenser paper or paraffin paper. The matte layer is formed by applying mud ink. Mud ink is basically prepared by blending a matting material, a binder, and a solvent. Mat materials include silica, talc, calcium carbonate,
Powders of precipitated barium sulfate, alumina, acid clay, clay, magnesium carbonate, carbon black, tin oxide, titanium white, synthetic fluorinated micas, silicone resins, cross-linked acrylic resins, benzoguanamine, fluororesins and those selected from wood are used. As a binder for mud ink, chlorinated poly-4-
Synthetic resins with a certain degree of heat resistance, such as methyl-1-pentene or its derivatives, or amorphous linear saturated polyesters with a glass transition point of 50°C or higher, are generally suitable because they have good adhesion to the base film. It is. Commonly used solvents such as methyl ethyl ketone and toluene may be used. A heat release agent selected from waxes such as polyethylene wax and paraffin wax, amides, esters or salts of higher fatty acids, higher alcohols of phosphate esters, or lecithin may be added to the mud ink. The thermal release agent melts during thermal printing and facilitates separation of the matte layer and the thermally fusible ink layer. The amount of m added is 5 to 50% by weight in the mud ink. To obtain a high matte effect, the average depth of the matte layer should be 0.
.. It is desirable that the glossiness be approximately 30 or less in the range of 15 to 2μ. A shallow unevenness of less than 0.15 μm will have a poor matting effect, while a depth of more than 2 μm will cause uneven transfer and poor resolution. The thickness of the matte layer is preferably in the range of 0.2 to 3μ.
A thickness of 0.2 microns or more is necessary to ensure the above-mentioned preferred average mat depth of 0.15 to 2 microns, and if it exceeds 3 microns, thermal sensitivity decreases. The hot-melt ink is prepared by blending a colorant and a binder such as EVA, paraffin wax, or carnauba wax. As the coloring agent, various color pigments such as cyan, magenta, yellow, and black are used.
The appropriate amount of heat-melting ink to be applied is a thickness of 3 to 5 microns. A primer may be applied on the base film to increase the adhesion between the base film and the matte layer. As a primer, a combination of acrylic resin, polyester resin, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer or epoxy resin and diisocyanate, or chlorinated poly-4-methyl-1-pentene or its derivative and amorphous polyester with a TO of 50°C or higher is used. This combination is particularly effective when polyester is used as the base film. For antistatic purposes when the paste fill is a plastic film, powders of various metals or metal oxides, or conductive substances such as carbon are added to the mud ink. A surface resistance of 10 9 Ω/or less is sufficient for antistatic treatment of a thermal transfer sheet. If it is necessary to make the used thermal transfer sheet unreadable for confidentiality reasons, it is preferable to make the matte layer and the heat-melt ink layer the same color. When using a plastic base film, it is preferable to provide an anti-sticking layer on the surface in contact with the thermal head, similar to conventional thermal transfer sheets. [Function] When the thermal transfer sheet of the present invention is printed using a thermal head, the matte layer and the heat-fusible ink layer are separated, and only the heat-fusible ink layer is transferred to the surface of the transfer paper. Due to the presence of the matte material, the surface of the matte layer has minute irregularities, and the surface of the hot-melt ink layer transferred to the paper surface also has corresponding minute irregularities, so that matte printing is performed. It will be done. By adjusting the amount of matte material added, printing from matte to semi-matte can be obtained. When the base film is a plastic film, if a conductive material powder is added to the matte layer to lower the surface resistance, problems caused by static electricity will not occur. If the matte layer and the heat-fusible ink layer are made the same color, even if the heat-fusible ink layer in the heat-printed area is covered, it will be difficult to read the used heat transfer sheet.

代理人 弁理士 須 賀 総 夫Comparative Example 2 In Example 3, a thermal transfer sheet without a matte layer was produced. Printing was performed using the thermal transfer sheets of Examples 1 to 7 and Comparative Examples 1 to 2 described above under the following conditions. The results of the evaluation are shown in the table. 0 Printing conditions Thermal head Thin film type thermal head applied energy 1TrLJ/dot (4X10-4d) Transfer paper 46 format/72Kg "Tokuobishi" (Mitsubishi Paper Mills) 0 Evaluation criteria (1) Glossiness Glossiness of printed area was measured at a measurement angle of 60'' using Crossmeter rGM-3M'' (Murakami Color Research Institute).
When the gloss level is approximately 30 or less, it is easy to read without shining. (2) Average depth of mat layer Measured using a surface roughness meter rSEF-10AJ (Sokoita Research Institute). As mentioned above, the average depth is 0.15
~2μ is desirable. (3) Surface resistance Measure the resistance of the mat layer surface using a super insulation resistance meter rYHP4329.
Measurement was performed using A-16008AJ (Yokogawa Hewlett Buckard). In order to ensure the antistatic effect, it is desirable that the surface resistance value is 10 9 Ω/mouth or less. (4) Printing Sound During printing on a thermal transfer sheet, the worse the peelability between the matte layer and the heat-melting ink layer, the louder the printing sound. (5) The thermal transfer sheet after confidentiality printing was observed, and those where the heat-fusible ink layer was difficult to read were marked O, and those that were easily read were marked X. By using the thermal transfer sheet of the present invention for λ, matte printing is possible. The degree of matteness can be selected from matte to semi-matte as desired by adjusting the amount of matte material added. Even when a plastic film is used as the base film, static electricity can be prevented by containing a conductive substance powder in the mat layer. If necessary, the matte layer and the heat-fusible ink layer can be made the same color to make the used thermal transfer sheet unreadable and useful for confidential preservation.
