Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly polish the polished surface of a polished body by installing a supporting means in soft structure which supports a plurality of free pulleys arranged at the position where a polishing belt is pressed onto the polished body, in shiftable ways according to the shape of the polished surface of the polished body. CONSTITUTION:A polishing belt 5 is pressed onto the polished surface of a polished body 14 such as metal mold. In this case, a plurality of free pulleys 16 arranged at the pressing part of the polishing belt 5 are supported onto the supporting frame 17 in soft structure which is fixed onto an air pack 15. Therefore, according to the shape of the polished surface of the polished body 14, these free pulleys 16 are shift-adjusted by the internal pressure and the inclination of the air pack 15, and the polishing belt 5 is always brought into surface contact with the polished surface of the polished body 14, and the whole polished surface is uniformly polishing-worked by the polishing belt 5 without accompanying undulation.

Therefore, if the radius of curvature of the concave part of the mold or the like in the object to be polished (14) does not match the radius of the floating pulley (9), the polishing belt (5) and the object to be polished (14>) It was in line contact (see Figure 4).For this reason, the tip is easily affected by vibrations, etc. For example, if this type of belt-type '6J1 polishing tool is used alone in a machine robot, etc. ,
There was a problem in that the polishing process progressed while creating wave-like undulations on the surface to be polished of the object to be polished (14). In addition, there was also the problem that local over-polishing occurred at the tip, and the entire surface to be polished could not be finished in a uniform state.

Note that as a means to increase this contact surface,
Contactor 1~Wheel described in Publication No. 37292 has also been used, but in this method, the amount of increase in the contact surface is also a step, and the object to be polished (14) having a large radius of curvature cannot be uniformly polished. It was not necessarily a suitable method.

In this surface-contact polishing process, the tip portion is hardly affected by disturbances, etc., and no wave-like undulations are generated on the polished surface of the polished object (14). Therefore, for example, it can be installed in a machine robot or the like and used for automatic polishing, expanding the scope of use. Furthermore, there is no need for local excessive polishing by the tip as in the prior art, and the entire surface to be polished can be finished in a uniform state.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the belt-type polishing tool of the present invention has the following advantages:
A plurality of floating pulleys are arranged at a portion where a polishing belt having a polishing surface covered with abrasive grains is pressed against an object to be polished, and the plurality of floating pulleys are controlled by a flexible support means to adjust the shape of the pressing surface of the object to be polished. Because it supports movably according to
Even when the arc of the abrasive belt at the tip and the radius of curvature of the polished surface of the object to be polished do not match, polishing can be performed while maintaining surface contact between the abrasive belt and the object to be polished. The part is hardly affected by vibrations, etc., and no wave-shaped undulations are generated on the polished surface of the polished object. Therefore, local excessive polishing by the tip is eliminated, the entire surface to be polished is finished in a uniform state, and processing accuracy is improved.
