Description

This invention relates to a structure for packaging items such as gate valves in cardboard boxes.

Packaging boxes containing heavy items are generally stacked for transportation, and in such cases, they are often stacked on a pallet and the pallet is then lifted by a forklift or crane. One such cardboard box device that can be lifted by a forklift or similar device is one that consists of a packaging box with claw holes in the lower part of the side panels into which forklift claws or chains (ropes) can be inserted (hung), and a cardboard pallet that is placed at the bottom of the packaging box together with the packaged items. This packaging box device allows the packaged items to be lifted in their packaged state by forklift claws or the like that are inserted below the pallet through the claw holes (see Patent Document 1, claim 1, figure 1, etc.).

For example, a heavy object may be a GX type soft seal gate valve V, and as shown in Fig. 9, there are gate valves V1 (Fig. 9(a), SE-25 type) which have a socket 2 on one side of the valve body 1 and a spigot 3 on the other side, and V2 (Fig. 9 (b), SE-20 type, SF-20 type) which have a socket 2 on one side of the valve body 1 and a socket 2 on the other side (see Patent Document 2, etc.). In the figure, 4 is a flange-shaped leg, and 5 is a valve cap that is placed on the tip of the valve stem.

Conventionally, these gate valves V ( V1 , V2 ) are also packed in square cardboard boxes. As shown in Fig. 10, first, the gate valve V moving on a roller conveyor or the like is visually inspected (Fig. 10(a)), then it is lifted by an electric chain block or the like and placed on a pallet (geta) 7 (Fig. 10(b)). Next, in this state, a square cardboard box 8 with a lid and an opening at the bottom is placed over the gate valve V (Fig. 10(c)), and the box 8 and the pallet 7 are wrapped around and fastened with a plastic band 9 for packaging (Fig. 10(d)). After packaging, it is lifted by an electric chain block or the like and placed on a transport pallet P (Fig. 10(e)).

The packaging of the gate valve V in the cardboard box 8 has an opening at the bottom, which allows dirt and dust to get inside the packaging (inside the box), contaminating the packaged item (the gate valve V), thereby reducing the product value.
In addition, the boxes 8 have low shape retention strength due to their open bottoms, and even if the boxes 8 and pallets 7 are integrated together with bands 9, the openings on the bottoms, etc., mean that the boxes 8 and pallets 7 cannot be sufficiently strong, making them unable to be stacked, which creates problems in terms of transportation costs.
Furthermore, winding and fastening the band 9 is cumbersome and requires a complicated packaging process.

Under the above circumstances, the objective of this invention is to improve workability, prevent dirt and dust from getting into the packaging, and reduce transportation costs.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention employs a packing box device described in Patent Document 1.
Specifically, it comprises a square cardboard packaging box with a lid and a bottom, and a pallet which is placed at the bottom of the packaging box together with the items to be packed, and the lower surface of the packaging box has perforations formed therein into which forklift tines can be inserted, and the pallet is positioned below the items to be packed and has girders on its underside which are long in the direction in which the forklift tines are inserted so as not to block the tine holes.

In this configuration, the nail holes of the packaging box device described in Patent Document 1 are formed in advance, whereas the nail holes of this invention are formed by perforations, so the position of the nail holes can be easily confirmed by the perforations. Also, unless the inner piece is cut off or raised through the perforations to open the nail holes, it is difficult for dirt or dust to get into the package through the nail holes. Therefore, there is little risk of the packaged item becoming dirty, and the product value is not reduced.
Furthermore, since the claw hole parts are connected via perforations before the holes are formed (before opening), the strength of the claw hole parts is not significantly reduced, and the packaged items are placed on the pallet inside the packaging box, and the pallet has a beam on its underside, making it strong. Also, the packaging box is rectangular with a lid and bottom, has good shape retention, and the pallet inside supports the packaged items, so the overall strength of the packaging box structure is high, and stacking is possible without wrapping and fastening with bands 9 as in the past, and the forklift claws can be inserted into the pallet through the claw holes of the packaging box to lift and transport the packaged items through the pallet, which reduces transportation costs.

In this configuration, the item to be packaged is a GX type soft seal gate valve, which has a receiving port on one side of the valve box and an insertion port or receiving port on the other side, as well as a flange-shaped leg extending downward from the opening edge of the receiving port and a leg extending downward from the underside of the insertion port side of the valve box, and a retaining material to which both legs engage is provided on the upper surface of the pallet, and by engaging this retaining material with the legs, movement of the gate valve relative to the packaging box can be suppressed.
In this case, a plate-shaped pressure pad is fitted above the gate valve inside the packaging box, and a through hole is formed in the pressure pad through which the valve cap of the gate valve passes, thereby allowing the valve cap to pass through the through hole, thereby suppressing the swinging of the gate valve.

As this invention is constructed as described above, it is easy to use and prevents dirt and dust from getting into the packaging.

One embodiment of the packaging box structure according to the present invention is shown in Figures 1 to 5. This embodiment relates to a packaging box structure for a GX type soft seal gate valve V1 having a valve box 1 with a receiving port 2 on one side and a plug port 3 on the other side, as shown in Figure 9(a), and is composed of a cardboard packaging box 10 shown in Figures 1 and 2, a wooden pallet (geta) 20 shown in Figure 4, and a cardboard pressing pad 30 shown in Figure 5.

The packaging box 10 is made of a cardboard blank consisting of a box body 11 with a front panel 11a, side panels 11b, rear panels 11c, side panels 11d, and glue strip 11e connected via fold line r, and a bottom panel 12 and a cover panel 13 connected to the upper and lower edges of the front panel 11a, side panels 11b, rear panels 11c, and side panels 11d via fold line r. This blank packaging box 10 can be folded inward along the fold line r between the side panels 11b and rear panels 11c, and transported in a flat state with glue strip 11e attached to the back surface (inner surface) of the side panel 11d.

As shown in Figures 1 and 3, the flattened packaging box 10 has the front plate 11a and side plate 11b standing inward along the crease line r between them, and the rear plate 11c and side plate 11d standing inward along the crease line r between them to form a rectangular cylindrical box body 11, and the bottom plate 12 and lid plate 13 are folded inward, so that the box has the same structure as a conventional cardboard box.

When assembled into a square box with a bottom as shown in Fig. 3, the packaging box 10 is large enough to accommodate a pallet 20 at the bottom, place a gate valve V1 on the pallet 20, and fit a pressing pad 30 into the valve cap 5 of the gate valve. In this embodiment, the height H is 693 mm, the width (front-to-back direction in Fig. 1) B is 310 mm, and the left-to-right width (left-to-right direction in Fig. 1) W is 700 mm. K6W-474 cardboard is used, and the following perforations 15 and the like are formed by Thomson processing.

On both sides of the lower part of the front and rear panels 11a, 11c of this packaging box 10, claw holes 14 are formed by horizontal L-shaped perforations 15, and the cardboard piece (inner piece) 14a inside this claw hole 14 is cut off or raised outward or inward via the perforations 15 to form an opening into which the claws of a forklift can be inserted (see the dashed line state in Figure 1). The perforations 15 are in the shape of a square frame and extend around the entire periphery of the claw hole 14, so that the inner piece 14a can be cut off.
The distance between the claw holes 14 corresponds to the distance between the claws (forks) of the forklift to be used. In this embodiment, the horizontal perforations 15 reach the edges of the side surfaces (side panels 11b, 11d) and the vertical inner perforations 15 reach the bottom panel 12.

The pallet 20 is made of wood, and as shown in Figure 4, consists of upper and lower boards 21, 22 that are long in the left-right direction, a beam 23 that is long in the front-rear direction fixed between them, a load member (retaining plate) 24 fixed to the upper board 21, and a retaining member 25 fixed to one of the load members 24 (the left side in Figure 4 (a)). The boards (materials) 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 can be fixed to each other by any means such as screws, nails, adhesives, etc., as long as sufficient fixing strength is obtained.

The upper plates 21 are located at both ends in the front-rear direction and in the center, making a total of three plates, and the lower plates 22 are located at both ends in the front-rear direction and making a total of two plates. The number of the upper and lower plates 21, 22 can be any number, such as four, as long as there is no problem in consideration of strength. In this embodiment, the upper and lower plates 21, 22 have a left-right length (left-right direction in FIG. 4(a)) L2 of 695 mm, a width (up-down direction in FIG. 4(a)) w2 of 75 mm, and a height (thickness) t2 of 14 mm.

The beams 23 are located on the left and right and in the center, making a total of three beams (pieces). The spacing between the beams 23 is set so that when the pallet 20 is placed in the packaging box 10, the beams 23 on both sides do not block the claw holes 14, allowing the forklift claws to be inserted (the beams 23 are provided long in the insertion direction a of the forklift claws). The number of beams 23 can be any number, such as four, as long as there is no problem in consideration of the strength and the claw holes 14. In this embodiment, the length L3 of the beams 23 in the front-rear direction is 305 mm, the width w3 in the left-right direction is 50 mm, the height (thickness) t3 is 50 mm, and the spacing T3 between the beams 23 is 152.5 mm.

The number of the load members 24 can be any number as long as it does not cause any problems in consideration of strength. In this embodiment, the load members 24 have a front-rear length L4 of 305 mm, a left-right width w4 of 85 mm, a height (thickness) t4 of 20 mm, a spacing T4 of 225 mm, and a spacing T1 from the girder 23 to the ends of the upper and lower plates 21, 22 (the left and right ends in FIG. 4(a)) of 120 mm.

The retaining material 25 is positioned on top of the end load material 24, and this position is set so that when the check valve V1 is placed, the leg 4 on the receiving port 2 side engages with its front side (left side in Figure 4 (a)).In this embodiment, the retaining material 25 has a front-to-back length L5 : 305 mm, a left-to-right width w5 : 27 mm, a height (thickness) t5 : 20 mm, and a distance T5 : 25 mm from the left end of the load material 24.

The pressing pad 30 is made of cardboard, and as shown in Fig. 5, a hole 31 is formed in the approximate center, and side panels 33 are provided on both front-rear sides with creases 32 between them, and as shown in Fig. 5(b) and the dashed line in Fig. 1, when the pressing pad 30 is fitted into the packaging box 10, the side panels 33 are elastically bent upwards through the creases 32 and pressed against the inner surfaces of the front and rear panels 11a, 11b of the packaging box 10 to be positioned. In this embodiment, the spacing w6 of the creases 32 of the pressing pad 30 is 300 mm, the length L6 in the left-right direction is 515 mm, and the width (front-rear direction) h6 of the side panels 33 is 48 mm. K6W-640 cardboard is used, and the creases 32 and the like are formed by Thomson processing.

The packaging box structure of this embodiment is configured as described above. Next, the operation of packaging the GX type soft seal gate valve V1 using the above-mentioned packaging box 10 etc. will be described with reference to FIG.
First, as shown in Fig. 6(a), the packaging box 10 is assembled in an open state with the lid plate 13 standing upright. At this time, the bottom plates 12, 12 are folded inward and their leading edges are attached with tape 16. A pallet 20 is loaded into the lower part of the packaging box 10 with the bottom.

When the assembly of the packaging box 10 and the loading of the pallet 20 are completed, or before the assembly, as shown in Fig. 6(b), a visual inspection of the gate valve V1 transported by a roller conveyor or the like is performed, and then, as shown in Fig. 6(c), the gate valve V1 is lifted by an electric chain block or the like and loaded into the packaging box 10. At this time, the gate valve V1 is placed on the pallet 20 so that the leg 4 of the receiving port 2 of the gate valve V1 engages with the stopper 25 of the pallet 20 at its front side (left side in Fig. 4(a)).

Once the gate valve V1 is loaded into the packaging box 10, the pressing pad 30 is fitted into the packaging box 10. At this time, the valve cap 5 is inserted into the central hole 31 of the pressing pad 30. Once the gate valve V1 is stored in the packaging box 10, the cover plates 13, 13 are folded inward and their leading edges are attached with tape 16 to complete the packaging (FIG. 6(d)).

In this packed state, the leg 4 of the receiving port 2 of the gate valve V1 is engaged with the stopper 25 of the pallet 20 at its front side (left side in FIG. 4(a)), the leg 4 on the insertion port 3 side is engaged with the upper surface of the load material 24 on the right side, and the up/down and left/right movement of the gate valve V1 is restricted by the holding pad 30. Therefore, the gate valve V1 is packed stably, and in this packed state it can be stacked.

During this packaging, if the receiving port 2 and the insertion port 3 are placed on the pallet 20 with the left and right reversed, as shown in Fig. 6(e), the leg 4 on the insertion port 3 side will rest on the load material 24, and the gate valve V1 will tilt towards the receiving port 2. Therefore, even if the pressing pad 30 is fitted into the packaging box 10, the valve cap 5 will not penetrate (be inserted) into the central hole 31, and it will be apparent that the loading position of the gate valve V1 is incorrect.

The above embodiment is a gate valve V1 having a receiving port 2 on one side of the valve box 1 and a spigot 3 on the other side as shown in Figure 9(a). The packaging of a gate valve V2 having a receiving port 2 on one side of the valve box 1 and a receiving port 2 on the other side as shown in Figure 9(b) will be explained with reference to Figures 7 and 8.
The packaging box structure of this gate valve V2 also comprises a cardboard packaging box 60 shown in FIG. 7, a wooden pallet (geta) 70 shown in FIG. 8, and the cardboard pressing pad 30 shown in FIG.

Similarly, as shown in Figure 7, the packaging box 60 has the same structure as a conventional cardboard box, with a rectangular cylindrical box body 61 having a bottom plate 62 and a cover plate 63 foldably connected to the upper and lower edges, and can be transported in a flat state (see Figures 2 and 3).
When this packaging box 60 is assembled into a square shape as shown in Fig. 7, it is large enough to store a pallet 70 in the lower part, place a gate valve V2 on the pallet 70, and fit a pressing pad 30 into the valve cap 5 of the gate valve V2 . In this embodiment, the height H2 is 693 mm, the width (front-to-back direction in Fig. 7) B2 is 310 mm, the left-to-right width (left-to-right direction in Fig. 7) W2 is 530 mm, K6W-474 cardboard is used, and the following perforations 65 etc. are formed by Thomson processing.

Holes 64 are formed on both sides of the lower part of the front and rear side surfaces (side panels) of this packing box 60, each formed with a downward U-shaped perforation 65. By cutting the cardboard piece 64a inside this hole 64 outward or inward through the perforation 65, a claw hole 64 is formed into which the claws of a forklift can be inserted (see the dashed line state in Figure 7).
The distance between the two claw holes 64 corresponds to the distance between the claws (forks) of the forklift to be used. In this embodiment, compared to the above embodiment, the vertical perforations 65 are located inside the edge of the side surface (side plate) and reach the bottom plate.

As shown in FIG. 8, the pallet 70 is made up of upper and lower plates 71, 72 that are long in the left-right direction, a beam material 73 that is long in the front-back direction fixed between them, and a load material 74 fixed to the upper plate 71. The plates (materials) 71, 72, 73, 74 can be fixed to each other by any means such as screws, nails, adhesives, etc., as long as sufficient fixing strength is obtained.

The upper plates 71 are located at both ends in the front-rear direction and in the center, making a total of three, while the lower plates 72 are located at both ends in the front-rear direction and making a total of two. The number of upper and lower plates 71, 72 can be any number, such as five, as long as there is no problem in consideration of strength. In this embodiment, the upper and lower plates 71, 72 have a left-right length (left-right direction in FIG. 8(a)) L7 of 515 mm, a width (up-down direction in FIG. 8(a)) w7 of 75 mm, and a height (thickness) t7 of 14 mm.

The beams 73 are located on the left and right and in the center, making a total of three beams (pieces). The spacing between the beams 73 is set so that when the pallet 70 is placed in the packaging box 60, the beams 63 on both sides do not block the claws 64 and the forklift claws can be inserted. The number of beams 73 can be any number, such as four, as long as there is no problem in consideration of the strength and the claw holes 64. In this embodiment, the beams 73 have a front-rear length L8 of 305 mm, a left-right width w8 of 50 mm, a height (thickness) t8 of 50 mm, and a spacing T8 of 182.5 mm.

The load members 74 are long plates in the front-rear direction, and are provided at both ends in the left-right direction (left and right ends in FIG. 8A). The number of the load members 74 is arbitrary as long as it does not cause any problems in consideration of strength. In this embodiment, the length L9 of the load member 74 in the front-rear direction is 305 mm, the width w9 in the left-right direction is 40 mm, and the height (thickness) t9 is 20 mm.

The packaging box structure of this embodiment is configured as described above, and its packaging action is the same as that of the GX type soft seal gate valve V1 of the above embodiment, but in this packaged state, the flange-like legs 4, 4 of both receiving ports 2 of the gate valve V2 engage with the upper surfaces of the left and right load materials 74, 74 of the pallet 70, suppressing the left and right movement of the gate valve V2 to a certain extent, and the up, down, left and right movement of the gate valve V2 is restricted by the pressing pad 30. Therefore, the gate valve V2 is packaged stably, and in this packaged state it can be stacked.

In addition, with the packaging box structure of each of the above-mentioned embodiments of the present invention, the packaging time was almost halved compared to the conventional packaging box structure shown in Figure 10, and the cost was also significantly reduced.

In each of the above embodiments, the claw holes 14, 64 may be formed by pushing and cutting down pieces of cardboard around the perforations 15, 65, or the cut down pieces of cardboard may be pulled outward. The bottom plates 22, 72 of the pallets 20, 70 may be omitted. The material of the pallet is not limited to wood, and plastic, cardboard, etc. may be used as long as it has the strength to withstand the weight of the valves.
Furthermore, the pressing pad 30 is not limited to being made of cardboard, but may be made of wood or plastic, and its shape is of course adapted to suit the size of the packaging boxes 10, 60 as appropriate.

Incidentally, in addition to inserting the fork (claw) of a forklift through the claw holes 14, 64, the packaging boxes 10, 60 may also be hoisted through a chain or rope. For this reason, it is preferable to draw the word "OPEN" or a picture of a chain or rope near the claw holes 14, 64 on the side panels (surfaces) of the packaging boxes 10, 60, as shown in FIG. 2, to indicate that the claw holes can be opened by cutting off or raising the parts surrounded by the perforations 15, 65, and that the claw holes can be hoisted through a chain or rope. These letters and pictures are not limited to the packaging boxes 10, 60 of the above embodiments, but can be used for various packaging boxes having the claw holes 14, 64, since they are intended to indicate the function of the claw holes 14, 64 surrounded by the perforations 15, 65. In addition, the form of the letters and pictures is novel in design, and can be used for packaging boxes of various sizes and forms, not limited to the packaging boxes of this embodiment.

In addition, in the above embodiment, for example, as shown in FIG. 2, two perforations 15 (65) can be formed in the upper part, and the inner pieces 14a, 64a can be cut outward by breaking through the gap between the perforations 15 and inserting a hand into the hole.

The above embodiments are directed to packaging of the SE-20 and SE-25 types of GX type soft seal gate valves V1 and V2 , but it goes without saying that the present invention can also be adopted for packaging other soft seal gate valves, such as the SE-1 type, SE-2 type, SE-40 type, SE-45 type, SE-E0 type, SE-E5 type, SE-85 type, SE-65 type, SE-70 type, etc.
Furthermore, the present invention can be employed for packaging various articles other than valves that can be lifted and transported by a forklift.
Thus, the present invention should be considered to be illustrative and not restrictive in all respects, and the scope of the present invention is defined by the claims, and it is intended to include all modifications within the scope and meaning equivalent to the claims.
