Description
The present invention relates to a treatment liquid, an ink set, an inkjet printing device, and an inkjet printing method.
Inkjet printers have the advantages of being quiet, having low running costs, and being easy to print in color, and are widely used in ordinary households as digital signal output devices.
In recent years, an inkjet recording method has been disclosed that is capable of printing not only on household items, but also on fabrics such as woven fabrics and knitted fabrics (Patent Document 1).
In the so-called DTG (Direct to Garment) field, where printing is done directly on clothing such as T-shirts, there has been a rapid increase in demand for sportswear in addition to the conventional cotton and cotton-polyester blend media, and compatibility with polyester media is required. This trend is not only seen in the DTG field, but in the entire textile printing field, and even in inkjet printing machines equipped with a winding/unwinding mechanism, there is an ever-increasing demand for inkjet recording systems that can form images with excellent color development and various fastness properties on fabrics of various materials including cotton and polyester.
For example, Patent Document 2 discloses a textile printing method that includes a step of applying an ink composition containing a pigment to a fabric by an inkjet method, and a step of applying a treatment liquid containing a first resin to the fabric when the ink composition has a drying rate of less than 90%.
However, with conventional inkjet recording methods such as that disclosed in Patent Document 1, there was a problem that the image fastness was insufficient and the texture deteriorated when it came to fabrics made of chemical fibers such as polyester.
Therefore, the present invention aims to provide a treatment liquid that can improve the fastness of images on fabrics made of chemical fibers such as polyester and can impart a soft texture.

In the present invention, by using a treatment liquid having a surface tension (dynamic surface tension) of 20 mN/m or more and 50 mN/m or less at a lifetime of 150 ms at 25° C., the wetting and spreading of the treatment liquid on the fibers is promoted even in fabrics made of chemical fibers such as polyester, which is preferable in terms of improving the texture and fastness, and a surface tension of 25 mN/m or more and 40 mN/m or less is more preferable.

The dynamic surface tension can be measured by a known method, but in the present invention, it is preferable to measure by the maximum bubble pressure method. A dynamic surface tension measuring device using the maximum bubble pressure method is commercially available, for example, DynoTeter (manufactured by SITA).
The maximum bubble pressure method is a method in which bubbles are released from the tip of a probe immersed in the liquid to be measured, and the surface tension is calculated from the maximum pressure required to release the bubbles.
When the radius of the bubble is equal to the radius of the probe tip, the maximum pressure is reached, and the dynamic surface tension σ of the ink at this time is expressed by the following equation:
σ=(ΔP・r)/2
σ=(ΔP·r)/2
(where r is the radius of the probe tip, and ΔP is the difference between the maximum and minimum pressures on the bubble)
In addition, the lifetime in this invention refers to the time from when a bubble leaves the probe and a new surface is formed until the next maximum bubble pressure in the maximum bubble pressure method.

Methods for dispersing a pigment to obtain an ink include a method of introducing a hydrophilic functional group into the pigment to make it a self-dispersing pigment, a method of dispersing the pigment by coating the surface of the pigment with a resin, and a method of dispersing the pigment using a dispersant.

A method for dispersing a pigment by coating its surface with a resin includes a method for encapsulating the pigment in a microcapsule to make it dispersible in water. This can be called a resin-coated pigment. In this case, it is not necessary for all of the pigments blended in the ink to be coated with a resin, and uncoated or partially coated pigments may be dispersed in the ink as long as the effects of the present invention are not impaired.
Examples of the method for dispersing using a dispersant include a method for dispersing using a known low molecular weight dispersant or a polymeric dispersant, typified by a surfactant.
As the dispersant, for example, anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, nonionic surfactants, etc. can be used depending on the pigment.

The pigment dispersion is obtained by mixing and dispersing water, a pigment, a pigment dispersant, and other components as required, and adjusting the particle size. Dispersion is preferably performed using a dispersing machine.
The particle size of the pigment in the pigment dispersion is not particularly limited, but in terms of improving the dispersion stability of the pigment and improving the image quality such as ejection stability and image density, the maximum frequency in terms of the maximum number is preferably 20 nm or more and 500 nm or less, and more preferably 20 nm or more and 150 nm or less.
