Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing printed matter, an ink set, and a method for deinking ink.
The inkjet recording method is a method of ejecting ink droplets from extremely fine nozzles directly onto a recording medium, causing them to adhere to the recording medium, resulting in characters and images. This method has the advantages of low noise and good operability of the equipment used, as well as the ease of use, and it is easy to make it into a color printer. For this reason, it is used not only as an output device in the office or at home, but also for industrial purposes.
Inks for inkjet recording (inkjet inks) include solvent inks, UV inks, and water-based inks. Among these, there is an increasing demand for water-based inks due to environmental considerations, etc. (See, for example, Patent Document 1).
In addition, in response to the problem of marine plastic waste, there is a movement to change product packaging materials from plastic to paper for sustainability reasons. As a result, demand for paper recycling is expected to increase in the future.
When recycling paper, the ink is removed. One known method for removing ink is the flotation method. The flotation method involves a disintegration process to remove the ink from the paper, and a flotation treatment process to remove the removed ink by adsorbing it into air bubbles (see, for example,
In aqueous inks for inkjet recording, the pigment is finely dispersed from the viewpoint of ejection properties. Therefore, when the substrate of a printed matter obtained using such aqueous ink is an ink-absorbent substrate (recording medium) such as paper, the pigment in the ink is likely to adhere to the substrate. In addition, in the flotation process, the ink (particularly the pigment) that has been detached from the substrate disperses finely and colors the dissociation water (washing water), and is likely to reattach to the substrate via the colored dissociation water (washing water), making it difficult to obtain sufficient deinking properties using the flotation method.
Therefore, one object of the present invention is to obtain a printed matter that has excellent deinking properties using the flotation method in a method of printing on an ink-absorbent substrate using an inkjet recording system.

However, the present invention is in no way limited to the following embodiments. In addition, the same or corresponding parts in the drawings will be given the same reference numerals.
<Method of manufacturing printed matter>
A method for producing a printed matter according to one embodiment includes the steps of: (A) preparing an ink-absorbent substrate; (B) applying one of a first liquid composition and a second liquid composition to the substrate, and then applying the other liquid composition to the substrate so as to come into contact with the first liquid composition; and (C) drying the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition to obtain a printed matter. The first liquid composition used in this method includes a crosslinking agent and water, and optionally further includes a pigment and a resin capable of reacting with the crosslinking agent (hereinafter also referred to as a "first reactive resin"). The second liquid composition includes a pigment, a resin capable of reacting with the crosslinking agent contained in the first liquid composition (hereinafter also referred to as a "second reactive resin"), and water.
The step of applying the second liquid composition in step (B) is a step of ejecting the second liquid composition by an inkjet recording method. In step (B), a mixed region of the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition is formed in which the ratio (X/Y) of the mass X of the crosslinking agent present in a unit volume to the total mass Y of the first reactive resin and the second reactive resin is 0.05 to 0.6.
According to the manufacturing method of this embodiment, a printed matter having excellent deinking properties by the flotation method can be obtained. The present inventors speculate that the cause of this is as follows. First, in the conventional inkjet aqueous ink composition, fine pigments easily penetrate into the substrate, and in the flotation process, the ink (particularly the pigment) detached from the substrate disperses finely and colors the dissociation water (washing water), and is easily reattached to the substrate via the colored dissociation water (washing water), so it is considered that sufficient deinking properties are difficult to obtain by the flotation method. In contrast, in the manufacturing method of this embodiment, as the drying progresses in step (C), the crosslinking agent and the reactive resin in the mixed region react to form a crosslinked body, and the crosslinked body coarsens the pigment. Therefore, it is speculated that the problem of the pigment penetrating the substrate and reattaching becomes less likely to occur. In addition, if the crosslinking of the crosslinked body becomes too dense, the crosslinked body will adhere to the substrate and the deinking properties will decrease, but in the manufacturing method of this embodiment, such a problem is less likely to occur because the ratio of the crosslinking agent to the reactive resin in the mixed region is within the above-mentioned specific range. It is believed that these factors are the cause of the above effects.
In addition, in the manufacturing method of this embodiment, since the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition are used, it is possible to prevent problems that occur with so-called one-liquid inks, such as excessive reaction between the crosslinking agent and the reactive resin in the ink, causing the ink to thicken over time, and clogging of the head due to reaction products.
Below, we will first explain the first and second liquid compositions used in the manufacturing method of this embodiment.
The first liquid composition contains a crosslinking agent and water, and optionally further contains a pigment and a first reactive resin. The crosslinking agent, pigment, and first reactive resin in the first liquid composition may each be one type or a mixture of multiple types.
The crosslinking agent is a compound having a crosslinkable group (or a crosslinkable structure). Examples of the crosslinkable group include a carbodiimide group, a glycidyl group, an oxazoline group, an isocyanate group, an aldehyde group, an N-methylol group, an acryloyl group, a vinyl sulfone group, an active halogen group, an ethyleneimino group, and a glyoxal group. Among these, a compound having two or more groups selected from the group consisting of a carbodiimide group and a glycidyl group is preferred because it has excellent storage stability after mixing and is highly safe.
Examples of crosslinking agents include polycarbodiimide compounds to which hydrophilic segments have been added, glycidyl ethers of polyhydric alcohols, etc. More specifically, examples include Carbodilite SV-02, Carbodilite V-02, Carbodilite V-02-L2, Carbodilite V-10, Carbodilite SW-12G, Carbodilite E-02, Carbodilite E-05 (all trade names) from Nisshinbo Chemical Inc., and Denacol EX-321 (trade name) from Nagase ChemteX Corporation.
The crosslinkable group equivalent of the crosslinking agent may be 100 g/mol or more, 200 g/mol or more, or 300 g/mol or more, and may be 800 g/mol or less, 600 g/mol or less, or 300 g/mol or less. The crosslinkable group equivalent is determined, for example, in accordance with JIS K 7236. When the first liquid composition contains multiple types of crosslinking agents, the crosslinkable group equivalent of the crosslinking agent is the crosslinkable group equivalent of the crosslinking agents as a whole.
The content of the crosslinking agent may be, for example, 0.15% by mass or more, 0.25% by mass or more, or 0.5% by mass or more, and 10% by mass or less, 8% by mass or less, or 2% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition.
Usually, the crosslinking agent is stable in water. However, when the first liquid composition contains the first reactive resin, the reaction between the crosslinking agent and the first reactive resin may partially proceed before the first liquid composition is dried. Therefore, when the application process of the first liquid composition is a process of ejecting the first liquid composition by an inkjet recording method, the content of the crosslinking agent is preferably 10 to 600 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the first reactive resin. When the content of the crosslinking agent is within the above range, excellent ejection stability tends to be obtained. From the viewpoint of excellent ejection stability, the content of the crosslinking agent relative to 100 parts by mass of the first reactive resin is more preferably 30 parts by mass or more, and even more preferably 50 parts by mass or more. From the viewpoint of excellent ejection stability, the content of the crosslinking agent relative to 100 parts by mass of the first reactive resin is more preferably 400 parts by mass or less, and even more preferably 200 parts by mass or less.

The pigment may be formulated as a pigment dispersion containing, for example, a pigment, water, and a pigment dispersant. Examples of pigment dispersants include polyvinyl alcohols, polyvinylpyrrolidones, acrylic resins such as acrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymers, styrene-acrylic acid copolymers, styrene-methacrylic acid copolymers, styrene-methacrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymers, styrene-α-methylstyrene-acrylic acid copolymers, styrene-α-methylstyrene-acrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymers, and other styrene-acrylic resins such as styrene-maleic acid copolymers, styrene-maleic anhydride copolymers, and vinylnaphthalene-acrylic acid copolymers, as well as salts of the aqueous resins. Examples of pigment dispersants that can be used include the Ajisper PB series manufactured by Ajinomoto Fine-Techno Co., Ltd., the Disperbyk series manufactured by BYK Japan Co., Ltd., the EFKA series manufactured by BASF, the SOLSPERSE series manufactured by Lubrizol Japan Co., Ltd., and the TEGO series manufactured by Evonik. In addition, a compound exemplified as polymer (G) in WO2018/190139 can also be used as a pigment dispersant.
It is preferable that the pigment is provided with a means for dispersing well in the aqueous medium so that it is present stably in the ink. For example, a dispersibility-imparting group (hydrophilic functional group and/or its salt) or an active species having a dispersibility-imparting group may be bonded (grafted) to the surface of the pigment directly or indirectly via an alkyl group, an alkyl ether group, an aryl group, or the like. Such self-dispersing pigments can be produced, for example, by methods such as vacuum plasma treatment, oxidation treatment with hypohalous acid and/or hypohalous acid salts, oxidation treatment with ozone, a wet oxidation method in which the pigment surface is oxidized with an oxidizing agent in water, or a method in which a carboxy group is bonded via a phenyl group by bonding p-aminobenzoic acid to the pigment surface.
When using a self-dispersing pigment, there is no need to include a pigment dispersant, so foaming caused by the pigment dispersant can be suppressed, and excellent ejection stability is easily obtained. In addition, when using a self-dispersing pigment, a significant increase in viscosity caused by the pigment dispersant is suppressed, making it possible to include more pigment, making it easier to produce printed matter with high print density. Commercially available self-dispersing pigments can also be used. Examples of commercially available products include Microjet CW-1 (product name: manufactured by Orient Chemical Industries Co., Ltd.), CAB-O-JET 200, and CAB-O-JET 300 (all product names: manufactured by CABOT Corporation).
The average particle diameter of the pigment is not particularly limited, but in the case where the application process of the first liquid composition is a process of ejecting the first liquid composition by an inkjet recording method, it is preferable that the average particle diameter is 200 nm or less from the viewpoint of ejection properties. When the average particle diameter of the pigment in the ink is equal to or less than the above value, the pigment tends to adhere to the inside of the substrate, and therefore, when the average particle diameter of the pigment is equal to or less than the above value, the effect of improving the deinking properties by the manufacturing method of this embodiment is easily obtained. The average particle diameter of the pigment may be, for example, 50 nm or more. The average particle diameter of the pigment is the d50 diameter in the volume-based particle size distribution measured by the laser scattering method using a laser scattering type particle size measuring device (e.g., Microtrack).
The pigment content in the first liquid composition may be, for example, 0% by mass or more, and may be 1% by mass or more, or 2% by mass or more, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition, from the viewpoint of ensuring sufficient print density. The pigment content may be, for example, 15% by mass or less, and may be 10% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition, from the viewpoint of ensuring sufficient ejection properties.
The first reactive resin is a resin that can react with the crosslinking agent contained in the first liquid composition, and has a reactive group that is reactive with the crosslinking group of the crosslinking agent. When the first liquid composition contains the first reactive resin, the pigment is less likely to penetrate into the substrate, and the particles are more likely to become coarse in the flotation treatment process, which tends to improve the deinking properties of the resulting printed matter. On the other hand, when the first liquid composition contains the first reactive resin, a crosslinking reaction may progress in the first liquid composition, causing the viscosity to increase over time. In this specification, the term "resin" refers to a compound having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 or more.
Examples of reactive groups include carboxyl groups, amino groups, and hydroxyl groups. A preferred combination of a reactive group and a crosslinkable group is one in which the reactive group is a carboxyl group and the crosslinkable group is a carbodiimide group or a glycidyl group.
The first reactive resin may be, for example, a resin contained as a binder component (binder resin), or a resin contained as a pigment dispersant.
Examples of binder resins having reactive groups include polyvinyl alcohol, acrylic resins, urethane resins, acid-modified polypropylene resins, and acid-modified polyethylene resins. These can be used alone or in combination with one another. Of these, it is preferable to use acrylic resins.
Examples of pigment dispersants having reactive groups include polyvinyl alcohols, acrylic resins such as acrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymers, styrene-acrylic resins such as styrene-acrylic acid copolymers, styrene-methacrylic acid copolymers, styrene-methacrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymers, styrene-α-methylstyrene-acrylic acid copolymers, and styrene-α-methylstyrene-acrylic acid-acrylic acid ester copolymers, styrene-maleic acid copolymers, styrene-maleic anhydride copolymers, and vinylnaphthalene-acrylic acid copolymers, as well as salts of the above aqueous resins.
The weight average molecular weight of the first reactive resin may be 10,000 or more, or 20,000 or more, and may be 100,000 or less. The weight average molecular weight is a value measured by gel permeation chromatography (standard substance: polystyrene).
The acid value of the first reactive resin may be, for example, 10 mgKOH/g or more and 200 mgKOH/g or less. The acid value is a value measured by an acid value measurement method based on JIS test method K 0070-1992.
The reactive group equivalent of the first reactive resin may be 10 g/mol or more and 200 g/mol or less. The reactive group equivalent is determined in the same manner as in the measurement of the acid value described above. When the first liquid composition contains multiple types of reactive resins, the reactive group equivalent is the reactive group equivalent of the entire reactive resin.
The content of the first reactive resin is, for example, 0 mass% or more, and may be 0.25 mass% or more, or 0.5 mass% or more, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition. The content of the first reactive resin is, for example, 10 mass% or less, and may be 5 mass% or less, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition.
When the first liquid composition contains a pigment and/or a first reactive resin, the total amount of the pigment and the first reactive resin in the first liquid composition is preferably more than 0% by mass and not more than 15% by mass, and more preferably more than 0% by mass and not more than 14.5% by mass, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition, from the viewpoint of ejection stability.
The water contained in the first liquid composition may be pure water or ultrapure water, such as ion-exchanged water, ultrafiltered water, reverse osmosis water, or distilled water. The water content may be 30% by mass or more or 40% by mass or more, and 90% by mass or less or 80% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition.
The first liquid composition may further contain a cationic compound. A cationic compound is a compound that is positively charged in water. When the first liquid composition contains a cationic compound, the pigment is more easily aggregated, and the deinking property in the flotation method is more easily improved. However, when the step of applying the first liquid composition is a step of ejecting the first liquid composition by an inkjet recording method, it is preferable not to use the pigment and the cationic compound in combination from the viewpoint of ejection property.
Examples of cationic compounds include calcium acetate, calcium lactate, and calcium nitrate. Examples of cationic compounds that can be used include functional cationic polymers whose main component is a primary amine (e.g., PAA series from Nitbo Medical Co., Ltd.) and ammonium titanium lactate (e.g., Orgatix TC-300 from Matsumoto Fine Chemical Co., Ltd.). One type of cationic compound may be used alone, or multiple types may be used in combination.
The content of the cationic compound is, for example, 0% by mass or more, and may be 0.5% by mass or more, or 1% by mass or more, and may be 20% by mass or less, or 10% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the first liquid composition.

The second liquid composition is an inkjet ink used in an inkjet recording method. The second liquid composition contains at least a pigment, a second reactive resin, and water. The pigment and the second reactive resin in the second liquid composition may each be one type or a mixture of multiple types.
The details of the pigment contained in the second liquid composition (type of pigment, average particle size, etc.) are the same as the details of the pigment that can be contained in the first liquid composition. The second reactive resin and the first reactive resin may be the same or different.
The content of the second reactive resin is, for example, 0 mass% or more, and may be 0.25 mass% or more, or 0.5 mass% or more, based on the total mass of the second liquid composition. The content of the second reactive resin is, for example, 10 mass% or less, and may be 5 mass% or less, based on the total mass of the second liquid composition.
From the viewpoint of ejection stability, the total amount of the pigment and the second reactive resin in the second liquid composition is preferably more than 0% by mass and not more than 15% by mass, and more preferably more than 0% by mass and not more than 14.5% by mass, based on the total mass of the second liquid composition.
The details of the water contained in the second liquid composition are the same as those of the water contained in the first liquid composition. The viscosity of the second liquid composition is, for example, 2 mPa·s or more and less than 10 mPa·s at 32°C. The above viscosity is a value measured in the same manner as the viscosity of the first liquid composition.
The surface tension of the second liquid composition is, for example, 20 to 40 mN/m at 25°C.
The first liquid composition and the second liquid composition may further contain other components in addition to the above components. The first liquid composition and the second liquid composition may further contain, for example, a binder resin or a pigment dispersion resin that does not have a reactive group, and may further contain a surfactant, a wetting agent (a drying inhibitor), a penetrating agent, a preservative, a viscosity adjuster, a pH adjuster, a chelating agent, a plasticizer, an antioxidant, an ultraviolet absorber, and the like. The first liquid composition and the second liquid composition may contain a solvent component other than water (e.g., an organic solvent) for the purpose of adjusting the viscosity, etc. However, when a mixed solvent of water and a solvent component other than water (e.g., an organic solvent) is used, the content of water in the entire solvent is, for example, 40 mass% or more, and may be 50 mass% or more. As the organic solvent, a known organic solvent used in inkjet inks can be used.
In this embodiment, when the amount of the crosslinker per unit volume of the first liquid composition is X 1 [g/m 3 ], the amount of the first reactive resin per unit volume of the first liquid composition is Y 1 [g/m 3 ], and the amount of the second reactive resin per unit volume of the second liquid composition is Y 2 [g/m 3 ], it is preferable that X 1 /(Y 1 +Y 2 ) is 0.05 to 0.6. By selecting and using a combination of the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition in which X 1 /(Y 1 +Y 2 ) satisfies such a range, a mixed region that satisfies the above ratio (X/Y) can be easily formed in step (B). X 1 /(Y 1 +Y 2 ) may be 0.1 or more or 0.2 or more, and may be 0.5 or less, 0.4 or less, or 0.3 or less.
The first liquid composition and the second liquid composition described above can be produced by mixing the above-mentioned components. The above-mentioned components may be mixed all at once or sequentially. When mixing, a dispersing machine such as a bead mill, ultrasonic homogenizer, high-pressure homogenizer, paint shaker, ball mill, roll mill, sand mill, sand grinder, Dyno Mill, Dispermat, SC Mill, Nanomizer, etc. can be used. After mixing, centrifugation, filtration, etc. may be performed as necessary.
Next, steps (A) to (C) of this embodiment will be described.

There are no particular limitations on the ink-absorbent substrate, so long as it can be deinked by the flotation method after printing. Examples include paper substrates such as copy paper (PPC paper) commonly used in copiers, substrates with an ink-absorbing layer, etc.
In step (B), a step of applying the first liquid composition and a step of applying the second composition are carried out, and a mixed region of the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition is formed in which the ratio (X/Y) of the mass X of the crosslinking agent present in a unit volume to the total mass Y of the first reactive resin and the second reactive resin is 0.05 to 0.6.
The order in which the first liquid composition application step and the second composition application step are carried out is not particularly limited, but from the viewpoint of preventing the ink (particularly the pigment) from penetrating the substrate and improving the deinking properties, it is preferable to carry out the first liquid composition application step before the second liquid composition application step, as shown in FIG. 1. In other words, it is preferable to use the first liquid composition as one liquid composition (the liquid composition applied first) and the second liquid composition as the other liquid composition (the liquid composition applied later).
Specifically, first, the first
The step of applying the first liquid composition may be a step of applying the first liquid composition by a roll coater method, a blade coater method, an air knife coater method, a gate roll coater method, a bar coater method, a size press method, a spray coat method, or a gravure coater method, a curtain coater method, a flexographic printing method, a screen printing method, a dispenser printing method, or the like, or may be a step of ejecting the first liquid composition by an inkjet recording method. The step of ejecting the first liquid composition by an inkjet recording method may be, for example, a step of ejecting the first liquid composition and printing it on a substrate, with the distance from a surface (x) having an ink ejection port of an inkjet head to a position (y) where a perpendicular line to the surface (x) intersects with a substrate (a recording medium) being 1 mm or more.
The step of applying the second liquid composition is a step of ejecting the second liquid composition by an inkjet recording method. This step may be, for example, a step of ejecting the second liquid composition and printing it onto a substrate, with the distance from a surface (x) having an ink ejection port of an inkjet head to a position (y) where a perpendicular line to the surface (x) intersects with the substrate (recording medium) being 1 mm or more.
The amount of the first liquid composition applied and the amount of the second liquid composition applied (discharge amount) in step (B) are not particularly limited. For example, the first liquid composition may be applied to a wide area on the substrate (for example, the entire surface of the substrate) to form a region consisting of the first liquid composition, and then the second liquid composition may be applied to the substrate so that a part of the region consisting of the first liquid composition becomes a mixed region. In addition, as long as the mixed region is formed, the position to which the first liquid composition is applied and the position to which the second liquid composition is applied are not particularly limited. For example, in FIG. 1, the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition are applied to the substrate so as to be in contact with each other in a direction perpendicular to the substrate surface, but the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition may be applied to the substrate so as to be in contact with each other in a direction parallel to the substrate surface.
It is preferable that the application step of the first liquid composition and the application step of the second liquid composition are performed consecutively. When the application step of the first liquid composition is performed before the application step of the second liquid composition, it is preferable that the first liquid composition is not dried before contacting with the second liquid composition. Similarly, when the application step of the second liquid composition is performed before the application step of the first liquid composition, it is preferable that the second liquid composition is not dried before contacting with the first liquid composition.
In step (B), it is sufficient if a portion of the ejected second liquid composition is contained in the mixed region, but it is preferable that 50% by mass or more of the ejected second liquid composition is contained in the mixed region, more preferable that 70% by mass or more is contained in the mixed region, and even more preferable that 90% by mass or more is contained in the mixed region.
The ratio (X/Y) in the mixed region is preferably 0.1 or more, and may be 0.2 or more, from the viewpoint of further improving the deinking properties. The ratio (X/Y) is preferably 0.5 or less, more preferably 0.4 or less, and may be 0.3 or less, from the viewpoint of further improving the deinking properties. The mass X of the crosslinking agent may be 0.15 or more, and may be 10 or less. In addition, the total mass Y of the first reactive resin and the second reactive resin may be 0.25 or more, and may be 20 or less.
The content of the crosslinking agent in the mixed region may be 0.075% by mass or more, 0.125% by mass or more, or 0.25% by mass or more, and may be 5% by mass or less, 4% by mass or less, or 1% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the mixed region.
The total content of the first reactive resin and the second reactive resin contained in the mixed region may be 0 mass% or more, 0.25 mass% or more, or 0.5 mass% or more, and may be 20 mass% or less, 10 mass% or less, or 5 mass% or less, based on the total mass of the mixed region.
The content of the pigment contained in the mixed region may be 0 mass% or more, 1 mass% or more, or 2 mass% or more, and may be 30 mass% or less, 20 mass% or less, or 15 mass% or less, based on the total mass of the mixed region. Note that when the first reactive resin contains a pigment, the above content is the total content of the pigment contained in the first reactive resin and the pigment contained in the second reactive resin.
The content of the cationic compound in the mixed region may be 0% by mass or more, 0.25% by mass or more, or 0.5% by mass or more, and may be 20% by mass or less, 10% by mass or less, or 5% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the mixed region.
In step (C), the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition are dried. This results in a printed matter having an ink-absorbent substrate and ink applied to the substrate. In this embodiment, as the drying progresses, the crosslinking agent and the reactive resin in the mixed region react to form a crosslinked product. Therefore, the ink contains a crosslinked product that is a reaction product between the crosslinking agent and the reactive resin.
The first liquid composition and the second liquid composition may be dried at room temperature (e.g., 25°C) without heating, or may be dried with heating. The drying temperature is, for example, 40 to 200°C. Drying may be performed under reduced pressure.
The drying time is not particularly limited, but it is preferable to dry the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition until the moisture content in the ink is 1% by mass or less. The moisture content after drying is more preferably 0.5% by mass or less, and even more preferably 0.1% by mass or less.
The printed matter obtained by the above steps (A) to (C) has an ink-absorbent substrate and ink applied to the substrate, and has excellent deinking properties using the flotation method.

(Preparation Example 1-1)
As the black pigment, carbon black "#960" (trade name) manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation was prepared, and pigment dispersion K (pigment concentration: 20% by mass, reactive resin concentration: 8% by mass) was prepared by the following method. First, 150 g of black pigment, 60 g of pigment dispersant, 75 g of propylene glycol, and 19.4 g of 34% by mass potassium hydroxide aqueous solution were charged into a 1.0 L intensive mixer (manufactured by Nippon Eirich Co., Ltd.), and kneaded for 25 minutes at a rotor peripheral speed of 2.94 m/s and a pan peripheral speed of 1 m/s. Next, 306 g of ion-exchanged water was gradually added to the kneaded material in the container of the intensive mixer while continuing stirring, and then 12 g of propylene glycol and 127.5 g of ion-exchanged water were further added and mixed so that the pigment concentration was 20% by mass, thereby obtaining an aqueous pigment dispersion (pigment dispersion K) with a pigment concentration of 20% by mass and a reactive resin concentration of 8% by mass. In addition, a reactive resin having a carboxyl group as a reactive group was used as the pigment dispersant. Specifically, DX-100 (acid value: 110, molecular weight: 18,000) manufactured by Seiko PMC Corporation was used.

<Production of printed matter>
(Examples 1 to 12 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5)
Ink sets 1 to 17 comprising a first liquid composition and a second liquid composition were obtained by combining two of
Using the ink set obtained above, 100% solid printing was performed on fine paper (npi fine paper manufactured by Nippon Paper Company, Limited, 64 g/ m2 per grammage, A4 size), which is an ink-absorbent substrate (recording medium). Specifically, the first liquid composition was first ejected using an inkjet printing device (OnePassJET manufactured by Tritec Corporation) and adhered to the substrate. At that time, the mass per unit area of the first liquid composition was set to 6.6 g/ m2 . This resulted in a coating film of the first liquid composition.
Next, 100% solid printing of the second liquid composition was performed using an inkjet printer (OnePassJET manufactured by Tritec) so that the second liquid composition would come into contact with the coating of the first liquid composition that was not completely dried and still had a tacky feel. In this case, the amount of the second liquid composition discharged was the same as that of the first liquid composition, and the mass per unit area of the second liquid composition was 6.6 g/ m2 . This resulted in a coating film (mixed coating film) having a mixed region in which the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition were uniformly mixed. The ratio (X/Y) of the mass X of the crosslinking agent and the mass Y of the reactive resin present in a unit volume of the mixed region is shown in Tables 3 to 4.
Next, a near-infrared heater (1 kW x 9 units) was used to irradiate the coated surface of the mixed coating with near-infrared rays for 1 second from a position at an irradiation distance of 10.5 cm, and the mixed coating was heated. This allowed the mixed coating consisting of the first liquid composition and the second liquid composition to dry, and a printed matter (printed pulp) comprising a substrate (high-quality paper) and ink provided on the substrate was obtained.
<Deinking evaluation>
First, the printed matter of the Examples and Comparative Examples was placed in a standard pulp disintegrator (product name, manufactured by Kumagai Riki Kogyo Co., Ltd.), and the printed matter was diluted with ion-exchanged water to a pulp concentration of 4%. Next, the printed matter was rotated in the disintegrator at 3,000 rpm at 60°C for 12 minutes, and then diluted with ion-exchanged water to a pulp concentration of 1%, and rotated in the disintegrator at 500 rpm at 60°C for 10 minutes (disintegration step). The pulp liquid thus obtained was washed with ion-exchanged water to peel off the pigment, polymeric substances (crosslinked bodies of crosslinking agents and reactive resins, etc.) and their aggregates from the printed pulp.
Next, a flotation process was carried out. For the flotation process, an experimental floatator manufactured by Kumagai Riki Kogyo Co., Ltd. was used. 7 mL of deinking agent (DI7027 (product name, manufactured by Kao Corporation) diluted to 1.5%) was added to 4.3 kg of a
Each evaluation sample (deinked pulp sample) obtained above was left to stand for 48 hours in an atmosphere of 25°C and 45%, and then the L * value (brightness) of the evaluation sample was measured using X-Rite 528. The deinking property was evaluated based on the following criteria. The higher the L * value, the better the deinking property. The results are shown in Tables 3 and 4.
A: L * value is 80 or more B: L * value is 70 or more and less than 80 C: L * value is 60 or more and less than 70 D: L * value is less than 60
