Description

This invention relates to a vehicle interior component that is constructed by combining a component with a skin material and a decorative component.

The design of an instrument panel is improved by edging the ends of the garnish that constitutes part of the instrument panel with an edging member that is a separate member from the garnish (see, for example, Patent Document 1). The instrument panel of Patent Document 1 has a mounting surface that is lowered from the design surface to the rear below the reverse step that extends in the vehicle width direction of the upper panel, and the upper edge of the garnish is attached to this mounting surface. In addition, the upper edge of the garnish forms a step that is lowered from the design surface to the rear, and a edging member is installed between the upper panel and the garnish by fitting into this step.

In the embodiment, an instrument mid panel 10 that constitutes the middle section of an instrument panel will be described as the vehicle interior member. The instrument mid panel 10 in the embodiment is a part that forms the area around the meter on the driver's side. In the following description, the design surface side of the instrument mid panel 10 that faces the passenger compartment R will be referred to as the front, and the side that faces the vehicle body to which the instrument mid panel 10 is attached will be referred to as the rear.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the instrument midpanel 10 includes a lower member (first member) 12 that constitutes the lower design surface of the instrument midpanel 10, and an upper member (second member) 14 that constitutes the upper design surface of the instrument midpanel 10. The instrument midpanel 10 also includes a decorative member 16 between the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 that constitutes a design surface with a different texture from the design surfaces of the lower member 12 and the upper member 14. In the instrument midpanel 10, the front surface (design surface) of the decorative member 16 is exposed between the design surface of the lower member 12 and the design surface of the upper member 14, extending in the left-right direction.

As shown in FIG. 4, the lower member 12 is a plate-like body formed by laminating multiple materials, and includes a lower base material (first base material) 18 and a lower skin material (first skin material) 20 that is placed on the vehicle interior R side and overlaps the lower base material 18. The shape of the lower member 12 is three-dimensional, with a lower design part (first design part) 22 that faces the vehicle interior R, and a lower retaining part (first retaining part) 24 that is formed to be continuous with the lower design part 22 and extends rearward on the opposite side of the vehicle interior R so as to intersect with the lower design part 22. In the embodiment, the lower member 12 is formed so that the lower retaining part 24 bends rearward from the upper part of the lower design part 22, which has a plate surface that extends up and down and left and right while gently curving, and the lower retaining part 24 extends in the front-rear direction.

As shown in FIG. 4, the lower base material 18 has a design portion that constitutes the lower design portion 22, whose plate surface extends vertically and horizontally while gently curving, and a retaining portion that constitutes the lower retaining portion 24, which is formed to be continuous with the upper portion of the design portion and extends rearward from the lower design portion 22. The lower skin material 20 is attached to the lower base material 18 so as to cover the front surface of the design portion of the lower base material 18 and to bend from the upper edge of the design portion to cover the upper surface of the retaining portion. The lower skin material 20 is disposed halfway from the front side to the rear side of the lower retaining portion 24. Therefore, the rear portion of the lower retaining portion 24 is not covered by the lower skin material 20, and the lower base material 18 is exposed. The lower skin material 20 is also wrapped around the rear surface of the design portion from the lower edge and the left and right side edges of the design portion of the lower base material 18, and is terminally treated so as to be attached to the rear surface.

As shown in FIG. 4, the upper member 14 is a plate-like body formed by laminating a plurality of materials, including an upper base material (second base material) 28 and an upper skin material (second skin material) 30 that is placed on the vehicle interior R side and overlaps the upper base material 28. The shape of the upper member 14 is basically three-dimensional, including an upper design portion (second design portion) 32 that faces the vehicle interior R, and an upper retaining portion (second retaining portion) 34 that is formed in connection with the upper design portion 32 and extends rearward on the opposite side of the vehicle interior R so as to intersect with the upper design portion 32. In the embodiment, the upper member 14 is formed so that the upper retaining portion 34 bends rearward from the lower portion of the upper design portion 32, which has a plate surface that extends up and down and left and right while gently curving, and the upper retaining portion 34 extends in the front-rear direction. In the instrument mid panel 10, the lower retaining portion 24 and the upper retaining portion 34 are arranged facing each other with a gap between them (see Figure 5).

As shown in FIG. 4, the upper base material 28 has a design part that constitutes the upper design part 32, whose plate surface extends up and down and left and right while gently curving, and a retaining part that is formed to be connected to the lower part of the design part and constitutes the upper retaining part 34 that extends rearward from the upper design part 32. The upper skin material 30 is attached to the upper base material 28 so as to cover the front surface of the design part of the upper base material 28 and to bend from the lower edge of the design part to cover the lower surface of the retaining part. The upper skin material 30 is arranged from the front side to a midway position toward the rear side of the upper retaining part 34. Therefore, the rear part of the upper retaining part 34 is not covered by the upper skin material 30, and the upper base material 28 is exposed. In addition, the upper skin material 30 is wrapped around the rear surface of the design part from the upper edge and the left and right side edges of the design part of the upper base material 28, and is terminal-processed so that it is attached to the rear surface.

The lower base material 18 and the upper base material 28 are resin molded products in which each part, such as the design part and the holding part, is integrally formed. For the lower base material 18 and the upper base material 28, for example, hard synthetic resins such as polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) are used. The lower base material 18 and the upper base material 28 are designed to support the load applied to the lower member 12 or the upper member 14. The lower skin material 20 and the upper skin material 30 are laminates that combine a flexible outer material 20a, 30a such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with an elastic lining material 20b, 30b such as a soft foam such as polyurethane foam or polyolefin foam. The lower skin material 20 and the upper skin material 30 can be compressed and deformed when pressed in the thickness direction, and have elasticity that causes them to return to their original shape from a compressed state, giving a soft texture to the design surface of the lower member 12 or the upper member 14.

4 and 5, the lower base material 18 is provided with a lower protrusion (first protrusion) 26 that protrudes forward toward the vehicle interior R on the side of the lower design portion 22 at the corner formed by the lower design portion 22 and the lower retaining portion 24. The lower protrusion 26 is formed in the left-right direction on the upper edge of the design portion of the lower base material 18. The lower member 12 is attached to the lower base material 18 from the lower design portion 22 side to the lower retaining portion 24 side with the lining (soft foam) 20b of the lower skin material 20 compressed by the lower protrusion 26. The lower member 12 is attached in a state in which the lining 20b of the lower skin material 20 is compressed not only on the front side (design surface side) of the lower protrusion 26 in the lower design portion 22, but also in the front portion 24a of the lower retaining portion 24. In this way, the lower member 12 has the lining 20b of the lower skin material 20 compressed at the corner where the lower design portion 22 and the lower holding portion 24 join.

4 and 5, the upper base material 28 is provided with an upper protrusion (second protrusion) 36 that protrudes forward toward the vehicle interior R on the upper design part 32 side at the corner formed by the upper design part 32 and the upper retaining part 34. The upper protrusion 36 is formed in the left-right direction on the lower edge of the design part of the upper base material 28. The upper member 14 is attached from the upper design part 32 side to the upper retaining part 34 side of the upper base material 28 with the lining (soft foam) 30b of the upper skin material 30 compressed by the upper protrusion 36. The upper member 14 is attached not only to the front side (design surface side) of the upper protrusion 36 in the upper design part 32 of the upper protrusion 36, but also to the front part 34a of the upper retaining part 34 with the lining 30b of the upper skin material 30 compressed. In this way, the upper member 14 has the lining 30b of the upper skin material 30 compressed at the corner where the upper design portion 32 and the upper holding portion 34 are connected.

As shown in Figures 3 to 5, the decorative member 16 has a decorative design portion 16a whose front surface faces the vehicle interior R in a molding-like manner, and a decorative fixing portion 16b formed to extend rearward from the decorative design portion 16a. The decorative design portion 16a has a front surface facing the vehicle interior R and a side surface that contacts the lower retaining portion 24 and the upper retaining portion 34. The decorative design portion 16a is formed so that the lower surface that contacts the lower retaining portion 24 protrudes downward beyond the decorative fixing portion 16b, and the upper surface that contacts the upper retaining portion 34 protrudes upward beyond the decorative fixing portion 16b. The decorative design portion 16a is covered with a decorative film (film) F from the front surface facing the vehicle interior R to the side surface connected to the front surface. The decorative film F has its ends extending from the lower and upper surfaces of the decorative design part 16a toward the decorative fixing part 16b (rearward) and away from the decorative design part 16a. In the embodiment, the sides of the decorative design part 16a covered by the decorative film F are the lower surface that contacts the lower retaining part 24 and the upper surface that contacts the upper retaining part 34. The decorative film F is, for example, a synthetic resin film that adds a predetermined function to the decorative design part 16a, such as a plating-like finish that gives gloss to the front surface of the decorative design part 16a. The decorative film F is molded to fit the shape of the decorative design part 16a by three-dimensional surface decoration molding (TOM molding) or the like, and is attached to the decorative design part 16a.

4 and 5, the decorative member 16 is assembled in such a manner that the decorative fixing portion 16b is fixed to the lower holding portion 24, and the side surface of the decorative design portion 16a covered with the decorative film F is sandwiched between the lower holding portion 24 and the upper holding portion 34. The lower holding portion 24 is integrally formed with an attachment piece 38 that protrudes from the lower base material 18 constituting the lower holding portion 24 toward the upper holding portion 34 (upward). The decorative member 16 is formed with an attachment hole 40 through which the attachment piece 38 can be inserted, penetrating the decorative fixing portion 16b in the vertical direction. The decorative member 16 is attached to the lower holding portion 24 by passing the attachment piece 38 protruding upward from the lower base material 18 through the attachment hole 40 formed in the decorative member 16. As shown in FIG. 5, the decorative member 16 is prevented from coming off by melting and crushing the attachment piece 38 that has passed through the attachment hole 40 with heat, and then crimping it like a rivet. In this way, the decorative member 16 is fixed to the lower holding portion 24 of the lower member 12 and only comes into contact with the upper holding portion 34 of the upper member 14.

5, the decorative member 16 is installed so that the lower surface of the decorative design portion 16a, covered with the decorative film F, contacts the front portion 24a of the lower retaining portion 24, which is covered with the lower skin material 20. The decorative member 16 is also installed so that the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a, covered with the decorative film F, contacts the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34, which is covered with the upper skin material 30. The front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 is formed at an angle so as to move away from the lower retaining portion 24 as it moves from the rear to the front. The instrument mid panel 10 is configured so that the distance between the front portion 24a of the lower retaining portion 24 and the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 becomes wider as it moves from the rear to the front. Therefore, the top and bottom surfaces of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 are sandwiched in the widened portion between the front portion 24a of the lower holding portion 24 and the front portion 34a of the upper holding portion 34.

As shown in FIG. 4, the lower base material 18 has an engagement rib 42 that protrudes rearward from the rear surface (rear surface of the design portion of the lower base material 18) that constitutes the lower design portion 22. An engagement clip (engagement portion) 44 is attached to the tip of the engagement rib 42. The upper base material 28 has an installation portion 46 that extends from the rear end of the upper retaining portion 34 (rear end of the retaining portion of the upper base material 28) to face the rear surface of the lower base material 18 that constitutes the lower design portion 22 (rear surface of the design portion of the lower base material 18). The installation portion 46 has an engagement receiving portion 48 into which the engagement clip 44 can be fitted, which is formed so as to penetrate the installation portion 46 in the front-rear direction. The lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are assembled to each other by arranging the lower design portion 22 and the installation portion 46 in a front-rear overlapping manner and fitting the engagement clip 44 into the engagement receiving portion 48. In this way, the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are assembled by moving the engagement clip 44 and the engagement receiving portion 48 relatively in the front-rear direction (imaginary line L along the assembly direction). At this time, the decoration member 16 fixed to the lower holding portion 24 of the lower member 12 moves relatively so that its rear end overlaps with the upper holding portion 34.

4, the front part 24a of the lower holding part 24 is formed so that the tangent line S1 passing through the part contacting the lower surface of the decorative design part 16a of the decorative member 16 is inclined slightly upward toward the front side with respect to the imaginary line L along the assembly direction when the engagement clip 44 is inserted into the engagement receiving part 48. The front part 34a of the upper holding part 34 is formed so that the tangent line S2 passing through the part contacting the upper surface of the decorative design part 16a of the decorative member 16 is inclined upward at a steeper angle toward the front side than the tangent line S1 with respect to the imaginary line L along the assembly direction when the engagement clip 44 is inserted into the engagement receiving part 48. In this way, the front part 24a of the lower holding part 24 is formed to extend on a line with an inclination close to the imaginary line L. In contrast, the front part 34a of the upper holding part 34 is formed on an oblique line that intersects with the imaginary line L so as to move away from the front part 24a of the lower holding part 24 as it moves from the rear to the front. The decorative member 16 is formed so that the vertical dimension of the decorative design portion 16a is larger than that of the decorative fixing portion 16b.

As shown in FIG. 5, the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 and the top surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 that contacts the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 are assembled in a front-to-rear overlapping manner. The upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 is assembled so as to press the upper skin material 30 that covers the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34. The decorative member 16 and the upper retaining portion 34 are assembled so that the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 presses the upper skin material 30 that covers the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34, compressing the upper skin material 30. When the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are moved relatively in the assembly direction, the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 that slopes upward from the rear to the front and the top surface of the decorative design portion 16a are overlapped in the front-to-rear direction.

Next, the assembly of the decorative member 16, the lower member 12, and the upper member 14 will be described. First, the decorative film F is attached to the decorative member 16 obtained by injection molding or the like. The sheet-like decorative film F is attached from the front of the decorative design part 16a to the sides including the top and bottom while being molded to fit the shape of the decorative design part 16a by TOM molding, vacuum molding, compressed air molding, or the like (see FIG. 6(a)). The excess part of the decorative film F that protrudes from the decorative design part 16a is cut and removed with a cutter or the like (see FIGS. 6(b) and (c)). In the embodiment, the end of the decorative film F is directed toward the decorative fixing part 16b side (rear) from the decorative design part 16a formed to protrude above and below the decorative fixing part 16b, and is extended away from the decorative design part 16a. In the embodiment of the instrument mid panel 10, the decorative design portion 16a is sandwiched between the upper member 14 and the lower member 12, so strict processing precision is not required for cutting the ends of the decorative film F.

The lower skin material 20 is attached to the lower base material 18 obtained by injection molding or the like. At this time, the lining 20b of the lower skin material 20 is pressed and compressed by the lower protrusion 26 at the corner where the design part and the holding part of the lower base material 18 are connected, and the lining 20b of the lower skin material 20 is attached in a compressed state at the corner. Similarly, the upper skin material 30 is attached to the upper base material 28 obtained by injection molding or the like. At this time, the lining 30b of the upper skin material 30 is pressed and compressed by the upper protrusion 36 at the corner where the design part and the holding part of the upper base material 28 are connected, and the lining 30b of the upper skin material 30 is attached in a compressed state at the corner.

Next, the decorative member 16 with the decorative film F attached is attached to the lower member 12. Specifically, the attachment piece 38 extending upward from the lower holding portion 24 is passed through the attachment hole 40 that penetrates vertically through the decorative fixing portion 16b of the decorative member 16, and the decorative member 16 is positioned above the lower holding portion 24 (see FIG. 7(a)). The attachment piece 38 protruding upward from the attachment hole 40 is melted, and the decorative fixing portion 16b is prevented from coming off by the melted attachment piece 38, thereby fixing the decorative member 16 to the lower holding portion 24 (see FIG. 7(b)). At this time, the decorative design portion 16a, with its underside to which the decorative film F is attached, is placed on the lower skin material 20 that covers the front portion 24a of the lower holding portion 24. In the embodiment, the decorative design part 16a is assembled so that the lower skin material 20 that covers the front part 24a of the lower holding part 24 is compressed by the underside on which the decorative film F is attached.

Next, the lower member 12 to which the decorative member 16 is attached is assembled to the upper member 14. The lower member 12 is placed in front of the installation portion 46 of the upper member 14, and is moved in the front-rear direction so as to bring the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 closer to each other, and the engagement clip 44 of the lower member 12 is fitted into the engagement receiving portion 48 of the installation portion 46 (see FIG. 8). The lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are assembled by fitting the engagement clip 44 of the lower member 12 into the engagement receiving portion 48 of the installation portion 46 (see FIG. 4). As a result, the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 is in contact with the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34, and the front surface of the decorative design portion 16a is exposed between the lower design portion 22 of the lower member 12 and the upper design portion 32 of the upper member 14 (see FIG. 5).

The relationship between the upper member 14 and the decorative member 16 when the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are assembled will be explained. When the lower member 12 is placed in front of the installation portion 46 in the upper member 14 and moved in the fore-and-aft direction to bring the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 closer together, the decorative fixing portion 16b of the decorative member 16 overlaps with the underside of the upper holding portion 34 (see Figure 9(a)). Here, the front portion 34a of the upper holding portion 34 is inclined so that it widens toward the vehicle interior R, so that it does not rub against the decorative fixing portion 16b of the decorative member 16. Furthermore, even if the decorative member 16 moves below the upper holding portion 34, the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a, which protrudes upward from the decorative fixing portion 16b, approaches the front portion 34a, which slopes upward as it moves from the rear to the front of the upper holding portion 34, from the front side, so that the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a does not rub against the front portion 34a of the upper holding portion 34 (see FIG. 9(b)). Then, when the engaging clip 44 fits into the engaging receiving portion 48, the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 comes into contact with the front portion 34a of the upper holding portion 34 and presses and compresses the upper skin material 30 that covers the front portion 34a of the upper holding portion 34 (see FIG. 5), but during the assembly of the lower member 12 and the upper member 14, the front portion 34a of the upper holding portion 34 and the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a covered with the decorative film F do not rub against each other.

The instrument mid panel 10 is attached to the vehicle body by fitting the engagement clips 44, which are formed to extend rearward from the upper design portion 32 and the installation portion 46 of the upper member 14, into engagement receiving portions (not shown) on the vehicle body. In the embodiment, the engagement clips 44 that attach the instrument mid panel 10 to the vehicle body are the same as the engagement clips 44 that attach the lower member 12 to the upper member 14.

In the lower member 12, the lower skin material 20 is attached from the lower design portion 22 side to the lower retaining portion 24 side of the lower base material 18 with the lining 20b (soft foam) of the lower skin material 20 compressed by the lower protrusion 26 at the corner between the lower design portion 22 and the lower retaining portion 24. This allows the lower skin material 20 covering the corner between the lower design portion 22 and the lower retaining portion 24 to form a sharp corner, allowing the upper edge of the lower design portion 22 to be finished neatly. In addition, because the lower skin material 20 forms a sharp corner at the corner between the lower design portion 22 and the lower retaining portion 24, it is possible to avoid a deterioration in appearance caused by hiding the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 with the lower skin material 20. Because the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are separate members, the degree of attachment of the lower skin material 20 can be easily adjusted during the process of attaching the lower skin material 20 from the lower design portion 22 to the lower holding portion 24.

Similarly, in the upper member 14, the upper skin material 30 is attached from the upper design part 32 side to the upper retaining part 34 side of the upper base material 28 in a state where the lining 30b (soft foam) of the upper skin material 30 is compressed by the upper protrusion 36 at the corner formed by the upper design part 32 and the upper retaining part 34. This allows the upper skin material 30 covering the corner formed by the upper design part 32 and the upper retaining part 34 to form a sharp corner, and the lower edge of the upper design part 32 can be finished neatly. In addition, because the upper skin material 30 forms a sharp corner at the corner formed by the upper design part 32 and the upper retaining part 34, it is possible to avoid a deterioration in appearance caused by hiding the decorative design part 16a of the decorative member 16 with the upper skin material 30. Because the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are separate members, the degree of attachment of the upper skin material 30 can be easily adjusted during the process of attaching the upper skin material 30 from the upper design portion 32 to the upper holding portion 34.

The instrument mid-panel 10 is configured such that the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 is inclined away from the lower retaining portion 24 as it moves from the rear to the front, and the distance between the front portion 24a of the lower retaining portion 24 and the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 becomes wider as it moves from the rear to the front. When assembling the upper member 14 and the lower member 12, it is possible to prevent the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 from rubbing against the top surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16, which is covered with the decorative film F. Therefore, before attaching the decorative member 16 to the instrument mid-panel 10, the decorative film F can be attached to the decorative design portion 16a in advance. In addition, since the upper surface of the decorative design portion 16a covered with the decorative film F is unlikely to rub against the upper retaining portion 34, the decorative film F can cover the front surface of the decorative design portion 16a to the upper surface hidden by the upper retaining portion 34, and the edge of the decorative film F is not exposed to the vehicle interior R, improving the appearance of the instrument mid panel 10. Moreover, since strict precision is not required for cutting the excess portion of the decorative film F when attaching the decorative film F to the decorative design portion 16a, the excess portion of the decorative film F can be easily cut.

The decorative member 16 is attached to the lower retaining portion 24 by passing the attachment piece 38 protruding from the lower base material 18 constituting the lower retaining portion 24 of the lower member 12 toward the upper retaining portion 34 of the upper member 14 through the attachment hole 40 formed in the decorative fixing portion 16b. In this way, when the decorative member 16 is attached to the lower member 12, it is not moved along the lower retaining portion 24, but is configured to be placed on top of the lower retaining portion 24, which prevents the decorative film F attached to the decorative design portion 16a from rubbing against the lower retaining portion 24 and peeling off. Therefore, the decorative film F can be attached to the decorative design portion 16a in advance before the decorative member 16 is attached to the instrument mid panel 10. In addition, since the decorative member 16 does not rub against the lower retaining portion 24 when it is attached, the decorative film F can be used to cover the front surface of the decorative design portion 16a to the underside hidden by the lower retaining portion 24, and the edge of the decorative film F is not exposed to the vehicle interior R, improving the appearance of the instrument mid panel 10.

The front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 and the top surface of the decorative member 16 that contacts the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 are assembled in a front-to-back stacked manner. The front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 is formed to extend in a direction intersecting the assembly direction of the lower member 12 and the upper member 14. This makes it possible to prevent the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 from rubbing against the top surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 that is covered with the decorative film F when the lower member 12 and the upper member 14 are assembled. Furthermore, the decorative member 16 and the upper retaining portion 34 are assembled so that the top surface of the decorative member 16 that contacts the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 presses down on the upper skin material 30 that covers the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34, thereby preventing the end of the decorative film F from peeling off.

The front part 24a of the lower retaining part 24 is attached to the lower base material 18 with the lining 20b compressed, so that the lower skin material 20 covering the corner between the lower design part 22 and the lower retaining part 24 can form a sharper corner, and the upper edge of the lower design part 22 can be finished neatly. This improves the appearance of the area around the decorative member 16 in the instrument mid panel 10. The front part 34a of the upper retaining part 34 is attached to the upper base material 28 with the lining 30b compressed, so that the upper skin material 30 covering the corner between the upper design part 32 and the upper retaining part 34 can form a sharper corner, and the lower edge of the upper design part 32 can be finished neatly. This improves the appearance of the area around the decorative member 16 in the instrument mid panel 10. In addition, friction between the front portion 34a of the upper retaining portion 34 and the top surface of the decorative design portion 16a of the decorative member 16 can be reduced, preventing problems such as peeling of the decorative film F during assembly.

(Example of change)
The configuration is not limited to the above, and may be, for example, as follows.
(1) In the embodiment, the lower skin material (first skin material) and the upper skin material (second skin material) have the same structure, but this is not limited to the above. Since the lower member (first member) and the upper member (second member) are separate members, the lower skin material (first skin material) and the upper skin material (second skin material) can have different structures, such as different layer structures or different colors.
(2) A stitch pattern formed by a seam sewn with thread may be provided near the decorative member on the design surface of the lower member (first member) so as to run along the decorative member. For example, in the embodiment, a stitch pattern formed by a seam sewn with thread to the lower skin material (first skin material) may be formed on the upper edge of the lower design part (first design part) of the lower member (first member) so that the seams line up in the left-right direction along the upper edge of the lower design part. Since the lower member is a member different from the upper member, it is easy to manage the attachment of the lower skin material, and the stitch pattern can be arranged to look good along the upper edge of the lower design part. More specifically, it is preferable to arrange the seam of the stitch pattern along the lower protrusion at a position adjacent to the lower protrusion that is removed from the top of the lower protrusion (first protrusion) on the opposite side to the corner formed by the lower design part and the lower holding part. In this way, the seams of the stitch pattern can be positioned by the lower protrusion, and the stitch pattern can be formed with a good appearance.
(3) A stitch pattern formed by a seam sewn with thread may be provided near the decorative member on the design surface of the upper member (second member) so as to run along the decorative member. For example, in the embodiment, a stitch pattern formed by a seam sewn with thread to the upper skin material (second skin material) may be formed on the lower edge of the upper design part (second design part) of the upper member (second member) so that the seams line up in the left-right direction along the lower edge of the upper design part. Since the upper member is a member different from the lower member, it is easy to manage the attachment of the upper skin material, and the stitch pattern can be arranged to look good along the lower edge of the upper design part. More specifically, it is preferable to arrange the seam of the stitch pattern along the upper protrusion at a position adjacent to the upper protrusion that is removed from the top of the upper protrusion (second protrusion) on the opposite side to the corner formed by the upper design part and the upper retaining part. In this way, the stitch lines of the stitch pattern can be positioned by the upper protrusion, and the stitch pattern can be formed with a good appearance.
(4) In the embodiment, an instrument mid panel is given as an example of a vehicle interior component, but the present invention can also be applied to other components that constitute the vehicle interior, such as pillars and trim.
(5) The arrangement of the first member and the second member is not limited to that of the embodiment. For example, the arrangement may be changed as appropriate, such as a configuration in which the first member and the second member are arranged upside down or side by side.
