Description
Claims (7)
- ロータリーバルブ内燃機関であって、
クランクシャフトに接続され、燃焼端を有するシリンダ内を往復動するピストンと、
前記ピストン及び前記シリンダの燃焼端によって部分的に画定される燃焼室と、
前記シリンダの燃焼端の外側部分に固定され、且つボアを画定するバルブハウジングと、
前記バルブハウジングのボア内に隙間嵌めされてロータリーバルブ軸周りに回転可能な略円筒形状のロータリーバルブとを備え、
前記ロータリーバルブは、前記燃焼室の一部を形成する内部容積を有する凹状のバルブ本体を有し、
前記バルブ本体の内部容積は、燃焼行程全体を通して燃焼ガスに晒され、
前記バルブ本体は更に、その壁部において、前記ロータリーバルブの回転中に前記バルブハウジングの吸気ポート及び排気ポートを介して前記燃焼室との間で逐次的に流体流通をもたらすポートを有し、
前記バルブ本体の表面と、それに隣接する前記バルブハウジングのボアの表面との間でシール機能が実現され、
前記シール機能は、動作中の前記バルブ本体の軸方向長さに沿った温度勾配によって定められる前記バルブハウジングと前記バルブ本体との間の不均一プロファイルによって実現され、動作中の前記バルブ本体の変形により前記バルブ本体と前記バルブハウジングとの間で実質的に一定の隙間を前記バルブ本体の隣接する長さに亘って維持する、ロータリーバルブ内燃機関。 - 請求項1に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃機関であって、
前記バルブ本体は、前記バルブ本体の軸方向に沿ってテーパ状であり、前記燃焼室側の開放端部での前記バルブ本体の直径は、室温において、前記燃焼室とは反対側の端部での直径よりも小さいことにより、動作中に前記バルブ本体のプロファイルの変化に対応する、ロータリーバルブ内燃機関。 - 請求項1又は2に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃機関であって、
前記バルブ本体は、前記バルブ本体の長さの少なくとも一部において円錐台形状である、ロータリーバルブ内燃機関。 - 請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃機関であって、
前記ロータリーバルブは、前記ロータリーバルブがアクティブシールバルブとして機能するための前記バルブハウジング内における径方向移動を許容するように前記バルブハウジング内に取り付けられた同軸の駆動シャフトを有する、ロータリーバルブ内燃機関。 - 請求項4に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃機関であって、
前記バルブ本体に隣接する前記駆動シャフトの端部は、前記バルブハウジング内の前記ロータリーバルブの前記径方向移動を許容するように、より小さい直径を有する、ロータリーバルブ内燃機関。 - 請求項1に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃機関であって、前記バルブ本体は軸方向の長さに沿って均一な径方向プロファイルを有し、前記バルブハウジングのボアは、前記バルブ本体の長さに沿って不均一な径方向プロファイルを有する、ロータリーバルブ内燃機関。
- 請求項1に記載のロータリーバルブ内燃機関であって、前記バルブ本体は軸方向の長さに沿って不均一な径方向プロファイルを有し、前記バルブハウジングのボアは、前記バルブ本体の長さに沿って均一な径方向プロファイルを有する、ロータリーバルブ内燃機関。
