Description
本発明は、セラミック電子部品およびその製造方法に関する。 The present invention relates to a ceramic electronic component and a method for manufacturing the same.
携帯電話を代表とする高周波通信用システムにおいて、更なる機能性付与のために小型大容量の積層セラミックコンデンサなどのセラミック電子部品が用いられている(例えば、特許文献1,2参照)。 BACKGROUND ART Ceramic electronic components such as small and large-capacity multilayer ceramic capacitors are used in high-frequency communication systems, typified by mobile phones, to provide additional functionality (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).
このようなセラミック電子部品では、誘電体層および内部電極層を薄層化することによって、高容量化を実現することができる。しかしながら、内部電極層を薄層化すると、内部電極層と外部電極との接触面積が低下し、外部電極に剥がれが生じるおそれがある。 In such ceramic electronic components, high capacitance can be achieved by thinning the dielectric layer and the internal electrode layer. However, when the internal electrode layer is made thinner, the contact area between the internal electrode layer and the external electrode decreases, and there is a risk that the external electrode may peel off.
本発明は、上記課題に鑑みなされたものであり、外部電極の剥がれを抑制することができるセラミック電子部品およびその製造方法を提供することを目的とする。 The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a ceramic electronic component that can suppress peeling of external electrodes and a method for manufacturing the same.
A ceramic electronic component according to the present invention includes a plurality of dielectric layers mainly made of ceramic and a plurality of internal electrode layers, which are alternately stacked, and the plurality of stacked internal electrode layers alternately face two layers. A dielectric comprising: a laminated chip formed to be exposed on an end face and having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape; and a pair of external electrodes formed on the two end faces, the dielectric being in contact with at least one of the pair of external electrodes.

FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of the
積層セラミックコンデンサ100には、小型化・大容量化が求められている。そこで、誘電体層11および内部電極層12を薄層化し、積層数を多くすることが考えられる。この場合、小型化・大容量化が可能となる。しかしながら、内部電極層12が薄層化すると、1層当たりの内部電極層12と外部電極20a,20bとの接触面積が低下し、外部電極20a,20bに剥がれが生じるおそれがある。
The multilayer
In particular, when the
ここで、外部電極20a,20bと接触する誘電体部分(誘電体層11および逆パターン層17)の結晶粒子径と、外部電極20a,20bとの接合強度について検討する。図6(a)~図6(c)は、外部電極20aの近傍の拡大断面図である。誘電体部分の結晶粒子のハッチは省略してある。
Here, the crystal grain size of the dielectric portions (
図6(a)の例では、外部電極20aと接触する誘電体部分の結晶粒子径が比較的大きくなっている。この場合、当該誘電体部分と外部電極20aとの界面の隙間が大きくなるため、当該誘電体部分と外部電極20aとの接触面積が比較的小さくなる。したがって、外部電極20aの接合強度が小さくなり、外部電極20aに剥がれが生じるおそれがある。
In the example of FIG. 6(a), the crystal grain size of the dielectric portion that contacts the
図6(b)の例では、外部電極20aと接触する誘電体部分の結晶粒子の平均粒径が比較的小さいが、粒径分布がブロードで大粒子も含まれている。この場合、大粒子が外部電極20aと接触する場合には、当該誘電体部分と外部電極20aとの界面の隙間が大きくなるため、当該誘電体部分と外部電極20aとの接触面積が比較的小さくなる。したがって、外部電極20aの接合強度が小さくなり、外部電極20aに剥がれが生じるおそれがある。
In the example of FIG. 6(b), the average grain size of the crystal grains in the dielectric portion that contacts the
図6(c)の例では、外部電極20aと接触する誘電体部分の結晶粒子の平均粒径が比較的小さいとともに、粒径分布がシャープになっている。この場合、大粒子数が少なくなるため、当該誘電体部分と外部電極20aとの接触面積が大きくなる。したがって、外部電極20aの接合強度が大きくなり、外部電極20aの剥がれが抑制される。
In the example of FIG. 6C, the average grain size of the crystal grains in the dielectric portion that contacts the
Therefore, in the multilayer
外部電極20a,20bと接触する誘電体部分の範囲は、外部電極20a,20bの近傍であれば特に限定されない。一例として、外部電極20a,20bと接触する誘電体部分の範囲は、エンドマージン15における誘電体層11および逆パターン層17のことである。
The range of the dielectric portion that comes into contact with the
外部電極20a,20bと接触する誘電体部分の厚みは、例えば、1.0μm以下であり、0.8μm以下であり、0.5μm以下である。
The thickness of the dielectric portion in contact with the
なお、逆パターン層17が設けられていない積層セラミックコンデンサ100においては、外部電極20a,20bと接触する誘電体部分は、外部電極20a,20bの近傍の誘電体層11のことであり、例えばエンドマージン15における誘電体層11のことである。
Note that in the multilayer
Next, attention will be paid to the intraparticle pores of the main component ceramic of the
図7は、誘電体層11におけるセラミック粒子30を例示する図である。図7で例示するように、誘電体層11は、1以上のセラミック粒子30を主成分として含んでいる。また、セラミック粒子30は、内部に粒子内ポア40を含んでいる。
FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating
If the ratio of
On the other hand, if the ratio of the intraparticle pores 40 of the

(analysis)
The multilayer ceramic capacitors of Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 were checked for peeling of the external electrodes. If no peeling was observed on the external electrode, it was determined to be a pass "〇", and if peeling was confirmed, it was determined to be a fail "x". The results are shown in FIG. 10(a). As shown in FIG. 10(a), no peeling was observed in the external electrodes in any of Examples 1 to 4. This is because the average crystal grain size of the dielectric part that contacts the external electrode is 200 nm or less, and the CV value of the crystal grain size distribution is less than 38%, which increases the bonding strength of the external electrode. It is thought that.
これに対して、比較例2~4では、外部電極に剥がれが確認された。比較例2では、外部電極と接触する誘電体部分の平均結晶粒子径が200nmを上回り、当該誘電体部分と外部電極との接触面積が低下したからであると考えられる。比較例3,4では、当該誘電体部分の粒度分布のCV値が38%以上となり、粒度分布がブロードになったからであると考えられる。なお、比較例1で剥がれが確認されなかったのは、内部電極層12を厚く形成したからであると考えられる。
On the other hand, in Comparative Examples 2 to 4, peeling was observed on the external electrodes. This is considered to be because in Comparative Example 2, the average crystal grain size of the dielectric portion in contact with the external electrode exceeded 200 nm, reducing the contact area between the dielectric portion and the external electrode. This is considered to be because in Comparative Examples 3 and 4, the CV value of the particle size distribution of the dielectric portion was 38% or more, and the particle size distribution became broad. Note that the reason why no peeling was observed in Comparative Example 1 is considered to be because the
Next, a moisture resistance test was conducted on the multilayer ceramic capacitors of Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 2 to 4. In the humidity resistance test, it was determined whether or not failure was observed when 4V was applied for 1000 hours or more in an environment of 85° C. and 85% RH. If no failure was confirmed, it was determined to be a pass “〇”, and if a failure was confirmed, it was determined to be a failure “×”. The results are shown in FIG. 10(a). As shown in FIG. 10(a), all of Examples 1 to 4 were judged to have passed the moisture resistance test. This is considered to be because the external electrode did not peel off. On the other hand, in Comparative Examples 2 to 4, the moisture resistance test was determined to fail. This is thought to be due to peeling of the external electrode.
次に、実施例1~4および比較例1~4の積層セラミックコンデンサについて、容量(μF)を測定した。容量は、LCRメータにて、1kHz-1Vrmsで測定を行った。図10(a)に結果を示す。図10(a)に示すように、比較例1,3,4では、高い容量が得られなかった。比較例1では、内部電極層12を厚く形成したために積層数が減少したからであると考えられる。比較例3,4では、誘電体部分の平均結晶粒子径が小さくなったからであると考えられる。
Next, the capacitance (μF) of the multilayer ceramic capacitors of Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 was measured. The capacity was measured using an LCR meter at 1 kHz-1 Vrms. The results are shown in FIG. 10(a). As shown in FIG. 10(a), high capacity was not obtained in Comparative Examples 1, 3, and 4. This is considered to be because in Comparative Example 1, the number of laminated layers was reduced because the
Next, for the multilayer ceramic capacitors of Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 2 to 4, the pore ratio in the crystal grains in the
