Description
The present invention relates to a storage container, and particularly to a storage container for storing objects to be stored such as vegetables and fruits.
Conventionally, when fresh produce such as vegetables and fruits is harvested and transported to processing plants, special storage containers are often used to prevent deterioration of freshness. It is known that fresh products such as vegetables and fruits reduce their freshness and promote spoilage due to the ethylene they produce. For this reason, storage containers have been known that have a function of using ozone to decompose ethylene generated from perishable products themselves during storage (see
However, the inventor's extensive research has revealed that the method of
The present inventor considers the reason why the technique of
The technique disclosed in
In addition, when multiple storage items are packed together, even if they are the same storage item, it is assumed that there will be a surface that is exposed to the outside and a surface that overlaps with other objects and is hidden inside. be done. In such a case, it is assumed that ozone is consumed on the exposed side and does not reach the hidden inside.
Conventionally, it was thought that the freshness of stored items could be ensured if ozone could be used to decompose ethylene floating in storage spaces. Therefore, as mentioned above, even if a large number of storage objects are packed, if ozone comes into contact with the atmospheric gas containing ethylene in the storage space and the ethylene is decomposed, the storage objects will be damaged. It was thought that it could maintain its freshness.
However, the freshness of stored items such as perishable products may be reduced not only due to ethylene but also due to bacteria attached to the stored items. Ozone has a bactericidal effect, but in order for ozone to sterilize bacteria attached to the storage object, it is necessary to bring the ozone into contact with the storage object itself. However, when a large number of storage objects are piled up, ozone is consumed to sterilize bacteria that have adhered to exposed surfaces, and ozone is not sufficiently distributed to unexposed surfaces. As a result, the objects to be stored are stored in the storage container with bacteria still attached to them, resulting in decreased freshness and, in some cases, possible spoilage.
The present invention is a storage container for storing an object, comprising:
a main body having a bottom wall, a side wall, and an opening formed on a side opposite to the bottom wall, and forming a storage space for accommodating the storage object inside;
a lid that closes the opening;
an ultraviolet irradiation device that emits ultraviolet light whose main emission wavelength is 150 nm or more and 260 nm or less;
having a plurality of communication holes that allow gas to flow between the accommodation space and the ultraviolet ray irradiation area from the ultraviolet irradiation device;
The communication holes are formed at a plurality of different positions when viewed in a depth direction perpendicular to the bottom wall, and are also formed at a plurality of different positions in the depth direction.
According to the above configuration, ozone-containing gas is generated by irradiating the ultraviolet rays from the ultraviolet irradiation device onto the atmospheric gas flowing toward the storage space in which the storage target is accommodated. This ozone-containing gas is returned to the housing space through a plurality of communication holes.
Here, the communication holes are formed at a plurality of different positions when viewed in the depth direction, and are also formed at a plurality of different positions in the depth direction. Therefore, the ozone-containing gas is introduced into three-dimensionally different positions within the housing space. As a result, even when a plurality of storage objects are stacked in the storage space, the ozone-containing gas can be easily brought into contact with each storage object, and a high sterilization effect can be obtained. Furthermore, since the ozone-containing gas flows into the housing space, it also functions to decompose ethylene, as in the past. This achieves a higher freshness maintenance effect than before.
In addition to the ultraviolet irradiation device, the above configuration can be achieved by providing multiple communication holes at specific locations on the main body that constitutes the accommodation space, so there is no need to provide any other dedicated equipment. do not have. As a result, a storage container with a simple structure and a higher freshness maintaining function than conventional products can be realized.
In this specification, the "main emission wavelength" refers to a wavelength corresponding to a peak value that is a maximum value exceeding the noise level. "Main emission wavelength" is preferably defined as a wavelength range Z(λ) of ±10 nm for a certain wavelength λ on the emission spectrum, and an integral of 30% or more with respect to the total integrated intensity within the emission spectrum. It may correspond to the wavelength λi in the wavelength range Z(λi) showing the intensity. In addition, in a light source that has an extremely narrow half-width and exhibits light intensity only at a specific wavelength, such as an excimer lamp filled with a predetermined luminescent gas, the wavelength at which the relative intensity is highest (main peak wavelength) may be used as the main emission wavelength.
The ultraviolet irradiation device may include, for example, an excimer lamp as a light source, which employs a gas containing at least one material belonging to the group consisting of Xe, KrCl, KrBr, and ArF as a light-emitting gas. Furthermore, the ultraviolet irradiation device may include a solid-state light source such as an LED or LD that emits ultraviolet light in the above wavelength range.
As a device for generating ozone, an ozonizer using silent discharge is known. However, in the case of such a method, the bonds of N 2 contained in the atmospheric gas are broken and NO x is generated. When fresh products such as vegetables, fruits, and flowers are to be stored, such an ozonizer cannot be used because there is a concern that they may be damaged by NOx .
O2 + hν(λ) → O(1D) + O(3P) ‥‥(1)
O(3P) + O2 → O3 ‥‥(2)
However, as in the above configuration, when an ultraviolet irradiation device that emits ultraviolet rays with a main emission wavelength of 150 nm or more and 260 nm or less is provided in the storage container and the atmospheric gas is irradiated with ultraviolet rays from this ultraviolet irradiation device, the Ultraviolet rays are not absorbed by nitrogen, but are absorbed by oxygen, so that ozone (O 3 ) can be obtained, for example, according to equations (1) and (2) below. Note that in equation (1), hv(λ) means that light of wavelength λ is absorbed.
O 2 + hν(λ) → O( 1 D) + O( 3 P) ‥‥(1)
O( 3 P) + O 2 → O 3 (2)
The storage container can have various specific configurations.

The second aspect of the storage container is as follows. That is,
The main body includes an outer container and an inner container that has the bottom wall and the side wall, is housed in the outer container, and forms the accommodation space by a region surrounded by the bottom wall and the side wall,
The inner container has a plurality of hollow cylindrical bodies each having a side wall extending in the depth direction toward the bottom wall independently from the opening at a plurality of positions,
Each of the plurality of hollow cylindrical bodies has the communication hole formed at different positions in the depth direction of the bottom wall and the side wall,
The ultraviolet irradiation device is arranged in a gap area between the outer container and the inner container, and is configured to irradiate the ultraviolet ray to the irradiation area located in the gap area,
The accommodation space is formed in an inner region of each of the plurality of hollow cylindrical bodies,
Some of the communication holes are intake ports that introduce atmospheric gas in the accommodation space into the irradiation area in the gap area, and another part of the communication holes are intake ports that introduce the atmospheric gas in the accommodation space into the irradiation area. It may be an exhaust port that exhausts the atmospheric gas that has passed into the housing space.
In the first and second embodiments, the main body has a double structure of an outer container and an inner container, and the ultraviolet irradiation device is arranged in a gap region between these containers. By irradiating the atmospheric gas taken into the gap area with ultraviolet rays, ozone-containing gas is generated, and this generated ozone-containing gas moves in the plane direction and depth direction along the bottom wall. It is introduced at different three-dimensional positions within the accommodation space.
A third aspect of the storage container is as follows. That is,
The lid portion has a hollow cylindrical body extending in the depth direction toward the bottom wall in a plurality of different regions,
The ultraviolet irradiation device is arranged to be able to irradiate the ultraviolet rays toward the irradiation area located inside the hollow cylindrical body,
The hollow cylindrical body has the communication hole connecting the inside of the hollow cylindrical body and the housing space on each wall surface on the lid side and the bottom wall side with the ultraviolet irradiation device in between. have,
Some of the communication holes are intake ports for introducing the atmospheric gas in the accommodation space into the irradiation area in the hollow cylindrical body, and another part of the communication holes are intake ports for introducing atmospheric gas in the accommodation space into the irradiation area within the hollow cylindrical body. It may be an exhaust port that exhausts the atmospheric gas that has passed through into the housing space.
In the third aspect, the ultraviolet irradiation device is disposed within a plurality of hollow cylindrical bodies formed in different regions of the lid. As a result, ultraviolet rays are irradiated onto the atmospheric gas taken into the respective hollow cylindrical bodies formed at different positions in the plane direction, and ozone-containing gas is generated. The generated ozone-containing gas is exhausted from each hollow cylindrical body to different three-dimensional positions within the housing space.
The ultraviolet irradiation device may include a light source that emits the ultraviolet rays, and a control unit that repeatedly turns on and off the light source at predetermined time intervals.
When perishable products such as vegetables, fruits, and flowers are stored, if the ozone concentration in the atmospheric gas in the storage space becomes too high, the ozone will oxidize and damage the stored products. may occur. The ability to sterilize bacteria attached to a storage object is determined by the product of the amount of ozone that comes into contact with the object and the contact time. According to the above configuration, ozone at a relatively low concentration can be brought into contact with the stored items repeatedly over the storage period, thereby suppressing damage to the stored items due to ozone and maintaining freshness over a long period of time. be able to.
From the above point of view, the ultraviolet irradiation device has a sensor that measures the ozone concentration contained in the atmospheric gas in the accommodation space, and when the measurement result by the sensor falls below a threshold, the control unit turns off the light source for a certain period of time. It may also be used as a device that lights up.
According to the storage container of the present invention, although it has a simple structure, it is possible to maintain the freshness of the stored object for a longer time than before.

4 to 6 are schematic perspective views of the
The
As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the
That is, the hollow
Further, the gas in the gap region between the
The
Next, an example of the structure of the
As shown in FIG. 10, the
The
The wavelength of the ultraviolet light L1 is determined by the type of luminescent gas sealed in the
Note that when the luminescent gas contains KrBr, the
As shown in FIG. 10, the
O2 + hν(λ) → O(1D) + O(3P) ‥‥(1)
O(3P) + O2 → O3 ‥‥(2)
The gas G1 (ambient gas) in the
O 2 + hν(λ) → O( 1 D) + O( 3 P) ‥‥(1)
O( 3 P) + O 2 → O 3 (2)
That is, the gas G2 after being irradiated with the ultraviolet light L1 from the
O3 + C2H4 → products ‥‥(3)
When perishable products such as vegetables, fruits, and flowers are stored as storage objects in the
O 3 + C 2 H 4 → products (3)
Further, as described above, the gas G2 containing ozone is introduced into the
Note that the
Furthermore, when the

[Third embodiment]
The third embodiment of the storage container will be described focusing on the differences from the first embodiment.
