Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a spindle device of a machine tool that has a tool attached to its tip to machine a work.
Molds are indispensable tools for mass-producing industrial products at low cost. Also, improvement of processing efficiency (shortening of delivery time) is extremely important. In general, precision molds with complicated shapes have been made by electric discharge machining, but high-speed cutting has been put into practical use, and they are now manufactured by cutting with end mills using machining centers. However, since the end mill needs to be elongated for deep rib grooves, deep corners, and minute portions of the mold, chatter vibration is likely to occur due to lack of rigidity of the tool, which hinders high-efficiency machining. This chatter vibration is generally self-excited chatter vibration, which can be caused by changing cutting conditions, machining at a stable spindle speed, reducing the dynamic compliance of the machine structure, changing the direction of the cutting force, using uneven pitch tools, using a spindle Many reduction methods have been proposed, such as periodic fluctuations in rotation speed and increased tool flank friction.
Patent Document 1 discloses a vibration suppression radial magnetic bearing provided with a plurality of electromagnets around a tool mounting portion of a spindle in a spindle device of a machine tool in which a tool is attached to the tip of a spindle rotatably supported by a housing. and a plurality of radial displacement sensors for detecting the radial displacement of the tool mounting part, and controlling the electromagnet of the radial magnetic bearing based on the output of the radial displacement sensor. It is
According to the spindle device of Patent Document 1, the spindle can be supported at a predetermined position by the radial magnetic bearing, so that the occurrence of resonance of the spindle can be suppressed without lowering the rotational speed of the spindle. However, when both ends of the spindle are supported by magnetic bearings, there is a problem that machining that requires a large cutting force is difficult, and it is not suitable for reducing chatter vibration of small-diameter end mills, in which vibration displacement at the tip is particularly large.
The technical problem of the present invention is to solve the problems of the prior art. The main spindle is rotatably supported by magnetic bearings and rolling bearings, and the magnetic bearings are controlled by electromagnetic force to achieve compliance at the cutting point of the rotary tool. and suppress chatter vibration when machining small-diameter end mills.
In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, there is provided a spindle device for a machine tool that holds a tool and processes a workpiece, wherein the tool is attached to the front end and can rotate between the front end side and the rear end side. a built-in motor that rotationally drives the main shaft; a rolling bearing that supports the main shaft in contact with the main shaft on the rear end side of the main shaft relative to the built-in motor; a magnetic bearing that supports the main shaft in a non-contact state on the side, a displacement sensor that is attached to the housing side and is provided so as to face the main shaft in the vicinity of the magnetic bearing, and a displacement of the blade portion of the tool. and a controller for controlling the magnetic force of the magnetic bearing based on the outputs of the displacement sensor and the observer, the tip side of the built-in motor is supported only by the magnetic bearing , and the built-in The rear end side of the motor is supported only by the rolling bearing , and the control device controls the value of the real part of the root of the characteristic equation corresponding to the tool held by the spindle based on the outputs of the displacement sensor and the observation device. is increased by a predetermined magnification, and the state feedback coefficient K is obtained by the pole placement method .
It is theoretically shown that the generation limit of regenerative chatter vibration generated in a small-diameter rotary tool is determined by the dynamic compliance (dynamic rigidity) of the tool system including the spindle and the tool. According to the present invention, state feedback control can be used to control the dynamic compliance of the tip of a small-diameter rotary tool using the electromagnetic force of a controlled magnetic bearing, thereby reducing chatter vibration of the rotary tool.
More specifically, by setting the root of the characteristic equation of the control system that performs state feedback control by the electromagnetic force of the magnetic bearing to an arbitrary value, it is possible to change the compliance characteristic of a small-diameter rotary tool. , the compliance peak value at the frequency corresponding to the natural frequency of the small-diameter rotary tool can be reduced to half of the compliance peak value in the absence of control.
Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
First, referring to FIG. 2, which is a side view showing an example of a spindle device of a machine tool to which the present invention is applied, a
A
The
A
The
Referring to FIG. 3, in this embodiment, the
More specifically, coils 110-8, 110-1 are connected by wire 112-1 to form a
Furthermore, the coils 110-8 and 110-1 of the
The first and
Referring to FIG. 1, the
The
In this embodiment, the output from the
As described above, the second and
Therefore, when the output from the
Conversely, when the output from
Also, the electromagnetic force generated between the
Therefore, as indicated by the solid line in FIG. 7, the response of the control may become dull in the vicinity of the center axis O of the
State feedback control by the
FIG. 5 shows a dynamic model of a tool
On the other hand, a fourth-order algebraic equation rooted at four eigenvalues λ 1 , λ 2 , λ 3 , and λ 4 is expressed as follows.
Of the characteristic roots of the characteristic equation |SI−A|=0 of the system when state feedback control is not performed, the value of the imaginary part with S (1,2) is 4019 rad/s, which is approximately 640 Hz. Therefore, since it is close to the natural frequency of 625 Hz of the
FIG. 9 shows the compliance |Ga | For comparison, FIG. 6 also shows the compliance |Gb| when the state feedback control is not performed. By performing control, it decreased to about 1/3. This corresponds to the fact that the value of the real part of the root of the characteristic equation corresponding to the
FIG. 10 shows the value of the obtained state feedback coefficient K and the real part Re [Ga] of the frequency response function obtained by substituting the free vibration parameters of the tool system shown in Table 2 into the equation (5). It is indicated by the red curve in the figure. For comparison, FIG. 10 also shows the real part Re [Gb] of the frequency response function when the state feedback control is not performed. was reduced to about 1/3 by performing state feedback control. According to the theory of regenerative chatter vibration, this means that the generation limit of regenerative chatter vibration is approximately tripled. In FIG. 10, the compliance peak value corresponding to the natural frequency of the
According to this embodiment, the compliance characteristics of the small-diameter rotary tool can be changed by setting the roots of the characteristic equation of the control system that performs state feedback control by the electromagnetic force of the
In the above-described embodiment, in the

In the examples shown in FIGS. 2 and 11, the
Furthermore, in the example of FIG. 1, the
