Description
The present invention relates to a structure for supporting a radiator mounted on a vehicle.
Vehicles with water-cooled engines generally have radiators to dissipate the heat of the coolant. A radiator is typically supported by a lower member and an upper member and arranged on the front side of the vehicle (eg, FIG. 1 of Patent Document 1). A fan shroud is arranged together with the fan on the rear surface of the radiator (eg, FIG. 1 and FIG. 7 of Patent Document 1). The radiator is cooled by a fan or by running wind when the fan is not running.
In order to improve the space efficiency of the vehicle, it is desirable to reduce the gap between the radiator and the engine. However, when the radiator is brought close to the engine, the wind that has passed through the radiator hits the engine without escaping to the rear of the vehicle, and passes through the gap between the radiator and the lower member to flow forward of the vehicle. back flow is possible. Moreover, the wind that flows back to the front of the vehicle is likely to become warm air because the running wind first passes through the radiator, and is then accompanied by heat from the radiator and further by heat from the engine. It is conceivable that this warm air is pushed back to the radiator by new running wind from the front of the vehicle. When the fan of the radiator is in operation during idling, etc., the wind is the same as the running wind. When the fan operates, the wind drawn in from the front of the vehicle and discharged to the rear of the vehicle hits the engine, passes through the gap, and flows back as warm air. It is conceivable that this hot air is drawn to the rear of the vehicle by the fan. It is conceivable that hot air is thus recirculated to the radiator. Due to this recirculation of hot air, the radiator is not sufficiently cooled by the running wind or the wind generated by the fan, and heat radiation efficiency may be reduced.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a support structure for a radiator that can prevent recirculation of hot air.
A support structure for a radiator according to an aspect of the present invention includes:
a radiator located in front of the engine of the vehicle;
a shroud portion disposed together with a fan on the rear side of the radiator;
a lower portion that supports the lower portion of the radiator;
a rear wall portion provided along the radiator at a position behind the radiator in the lower portion,
The rear wall portion protrudes upward from a surface of the lower portion facing the radiator,
A tip portion of the rear wall portion is arranged rearwardly of the shroud portion and in the vicinity of a lower end thereof.
The rear wall portion located behind the radiator can close the gap provided between the radiator and the lower portion. Therefore, the rear wall portion can prevent the running wind that has passed through the radiator and further hits the engine or the wind from the fan from flowing forward through the gap. In other words, the rear wall portion contributes to reducing backflow of running wind and wind from the fan. As a result, the hot air recirculation mentioned above can be reduced. In addition, by reducing the backflow of running wind and the like, it is easy to reduce the circulation resistance of running wind and the like. Therefore, the radiator support structure of the present invention can satisfactorily cool the radiator by running wind or wind generated by the fan.

A more detailed description will be given below.
The
(radiator)
The
The
(Fan and shroud section)
The
The
The

In this example, the
<Lower part>
The
The
The
In addition, the above-mentioned protrusion height h5 is such that the tip of the
FIG. 1 illustrates the case where the
The
In this example, the width of the

A constituent material of the
(main action)
In particular, as shown in FIG. 1, the case where the

Due to the above-described action, the

Specifically, the
