Description
The present invention relates to a composition for molten electric field spinning, a molten electric field spinning fiber, and a method for producing the same.
The electrospinning method (electrospinning method) is attracting attention as a technology that can relatively easily manufacture fibers having a nano-sized diameter (hereinafter, also referred to as nanofibers) without using mechanical force or thermal force. In the electric field spinning method, a high voltage is applied to a solution or melt of a resin that is a raw material of nanofibers to form fibers. In the electric field spinning method using a resin solution (hereinafter, also referred to as a solution method), the resin solution is placed in a syringe and installed facing the nozzle attached to the tip of the syringe and a position separated from the nozzle by a predetermined distance. A high voltage is applied between the collecting electrode and the collecting electrode. The resin solution discharged from the tip of the nozzle is stretched by Coulomb force and the solvent evaporates instantly. The resin from which the solvent has evaporated is elongated while solidifying to form nanofibers, which are attracted to the collection electrode. The formed nanofibers are deposited on the surface of the collection electrode. In this method, since it is necessary to volatilize the solvent, it is not easy to increase the production efficiency. Further, it is extremely difficult to apply this method to resins such as polyethylene and polypropylene which are not easily dissolved in a solvent.
On the other hand, since the electrospinning method using the resin melt (hereinafter, also referred to as the melt method) does not use a solvent, the inconvenience that occurs when the above-mentioned resin solution is used does not occur. However, since the resin used in the resin melt is generally difficult to be charged, it is difficult to make the fibers extremely fine even when a high voltage is applied, and it is difficult to stably obtain the ultrafine fibers. Therefore, in recent years, various proposals have been made regarding a spinning method using a resin melt that solves these problems.
Patent Document 1 discloses a highly hydrophilic polyolefin-based fiber spun by containing an organic alkyl sulfonic acid metal salt in a hydrophobic polyolefin resin. It is also disclosed that this polyolefin fiber can be melt-spun.
Patent Document 2 discloses a method of performing molten electric field spinning by improving the chargeability of the resin melt by adding a conductive agent of 1 to 25% by mass of an organic salt to the resin melt.

However, since the polyolefin-based fiber of Patent Document 1 is not produced by the molten electric field spinning method, it is not possible to obtain a fiber having a desired fine fiber diameter. Further, in the method of Patent Document 2, there is a possibility that a decrease in physical properties of the resin raw material due to the use of a large amount of additives and an electric leakage due to an improvement in the chargeability of the resin may occur. Further, in the method of Patent Document 3, the fiber density is increased due to the tearing and fusion of the fibers due to the thinning of the resin, and the texture and flexibility are deteriorated when the sheet is manufactured from the fibers.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is a composition for molten electric field spinning that modifies the raw material resin into a state in which it is easily charged and enables improvement of spinning stability and productivity by molten electric field spinning, and molten electric field spinning using the same. According to the present invention, since the raw material resin can be stably charged, spinning of ultrafine fibers by the molten electric field spinning method can be carried out with high productivity. Further, due to the physical characteristics of the resin, a low-density fiber sheet made of ultrafine fibers can be produced.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described based on its preferred embodiment. The composition for molten electric field spinning of the present invention contains a thermoplastic resin and an alkyl sulfonate.

The composition for molten electric field spinning of the present invention contains a thermoplastic resin. As the thermoplastic resin that can be used in the present invention, it is preferable to use a thermoplastic resin having fiber-forming property in molten electric field spinning. Among these thermoplastic resins, it is preferable to use a polyolefin resin such as polyethylene, polypropylene, or ethylene-α-olefin copolymer from the viewpoint of easy spinning due to properties such as low melting point, high fluidity, and high ductility. In particular, the composition for molten electric field spinning of the present invention is advantageous in that electric field spinning by the melting method can be preferably performed even when a polyolefin resin that cannot be electrospun by the solution method is contained.
The composition for molten electric field spinning of the present invention contains an alkyl sulfonate in addition to a thermoplastic resin.
From the viewpoint of stably increasing the charge amount of the composition for melt electrospinning, among these alkyl sulfonates, alkane sulfonate (R-SO 3 M) and alkylbenzene sulfonate (R-Ph-SO 3 M) ), Acyl acetylionate (R-CO-O- (CH 2 CH 2 ) -SO 3 M), Acylalkyl taurine salt (R-CO- N (-R')-(CH 2 ) 2- SO 3 M) Is preferable, alcan sulfonate (R-SO 3 M) is more preferable, and sodium alcan sulfonate (R-SO 3 Na) is more preferable. In particular, by using sodium alkanesulfonate (R-SO 3 Na), molten electric field spinning can be stably performed even with a small amount of addition, and fibers having a fine fiber diameter can be spun. The amount of charge will be described later.
From the same viewpoint, it is also preferable to use a mixture of two or more kinds of alkane sulfonates (R-SO 3 M) having different numbers of carbon atoms in the alkyl group. Alkane sulfonate (R-SO 3 M) has a primary alkane sulfonate having a sulfonic acid base bonded to the end of the structure and a secondary alkane sulfonate having a sulfonic acid base bonded to the middle of the structure. Where an alkane sulfonate is present, it is preferable to use a secondary alkane sulfonate from the viewpoint that the composition for molten electrospinning can be charged even more stably, and two or more kinds having different alkyl groups having different carbon atoms are preferable. It is more preferable to use a mixture in which the secondary alkane sulfonates of the above are combined. When a mixture of two or more alkane sulfonates (R-SO 3 M) having different alkyl groups having different carbon atoms is used, it is more preferable to use sodium alkane sulfonate (R-SO 3 Na) as at least one of them. ..
When the composition for molten electrospinning of the present invention is used in the molten electrospinning method described later, the amount of alkyl sulfonate mixed with the thermoplastic resin is a charge amount suitable for electrospinning, which is suitable for electrospinning in the molten electrospinning state. From the viewpoint of imparting to the composition, preferably 0.2 parts by mass or more, more preferably 0.5 parts by mass or more, still more preferably 3 with respect to 100 parts by mass of the total of the thermoplastic resin and the alkyl sulfonate. It is more than parts by mass, and even more preferably 5 parts by mass or more. Further, from the viewpoint of micronizing the fiber by electrospinning, the amount is preferably 50 parts by mass or less, more preferably 40 parts by mass or less, still more preferably 30 parts by mass or less, and even more preferably 20 parts by mass or less. That is, the composition for molten electric field spinning of the present invention is a resin composition mainly composed of a thermoplastic resin.
By including the alkyl sulfonate in this range, the charge amount of the composition for molten electric field spinning can be sufficiently increased, the spinnability in the molten electric field spinning method can be improved, and fibers having a fine fiber diameter can be obtained. On the other hand, when the amount of the alkyl sulfonate exceeds 50 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the total of the thermoplastic resin and the alkyl sulfonate, the ratio of the resin to the thermoplastic resin becomes small, so that the resin is extremely fine. It becomes difficult to obtain fibers stably.

In particular, a compound having a salt structure having a melting point at a temperature equal to or lower than the melting point of the resin used in combination is preferable as an additive.
The above description has been described for a composition for molten electric field spinning that is preferably used for molten electric field spinning. The method for producing a fiber using this composition is described with reference to the molten electric
The molten electric
In the
The
The
The molten electric
The charging
The distance between the
The molten electric
An air flow A flows between the tip of the
The molten electric
The
The
The above is the description of the molten electric
First, the
Next, the melt R is discharged into an electric field from the
From the viewpoint of effectively stretching the melt R, the fluidity index (MFR) of the composition for molten electric field spinning to be discharged is set to 10 g / min or more, particularly 100 g / min, at the discharge port of the
After that, by further blowing the air flow A from the
In the manufacturing method of the present invention, the molten liquid R discharged from the
From the viewpoint of sufficiently charging the melt R, the applied voltage applied between the
The fibers produced in this way are considered to be one continuous fiber between the
The fiber obtained by the present invention contains a thermoplastic resin and an alkyl sulfonate, so that when the fiber is formed into a sheet, the density of the sheet can be reduced. By reducing the density of the sheet, the texture and flexibility of the sheet can be maintained well, and a sheet having excellent liquid permeability and the like can be produced.
The reason why the above-mentioned effect is exerted by the inclusion of the alkyl sulfonate in the fiber is not clear, but the present inventor speculates as follows. When an additive such as stearate is added to a thermoplastic resin such as polypropylene for the purpose of imparting chargeability to produce fibers by molten electrospinning, the stearate is soluble in a thermoplastic resin such as polypropylene. Due to its high plasticity and its high plasticizing effect, the resin behaves plastically. That is, the ratio A / B of the above-mentioned melt viscosity is lowered. This improvement in plasticity makes it easier for the fibers to fuse with each other. Therefore, especially when a fiber sheet is manufactured by a method such as pressing, the fibers are further fused with each other, resulting in a sheet having a high density as a whole. It is one of the factors that make it manufactured. On the other hand, alkyl sulfonates show appropriate solubility in thermoplastic resins such as polypropylene, and due to their low plasticizing effect, the fibers after solidification are difficult to fuse with each other, and the sheets are formed. It is possible to produce a sheet whose density is kept low even when it is molded.
If the fibers of the present invention was formed into a sheet, preferably has a density of sheet is 0.05 g / cm 3 or more 0.3 g / cm 3 or less, 0.1 g / cm 3 or more 0.25 g / cm 3 or less Is more preferable. If this sheet is produced using the fibers of the present invention, the production method is not particularly limited, and the sheet can be produced by a known method such as pressing.
According to the present invention, fibers having various fiber diameters and fiber lengths can be produced depending on the conditions under which the molten electric field spinning method is carried out. In particular, it is possible to produce a fiber called a nanofiber having an extremely fine fiber diameter. The fiber diameter of the fiber of the present invention is preferably 10 nm or more and 10 μm or less, more preferably 10 nm or more and 3 μm or less, and 10 nm or more and 1 μm or less when the fiber diameter is expressed in terms of a circle-equivalent diameter. More preferred. Further, the fiber length of the fiber of the present invention is preferably 10 mm or more, more preferably 50 mm or more, and further preferably 1000 mm or more, provided that the above-mentioned fiber diameter is satisfied.
The fiber diameter and fiber length of the molten electrospun fiber are determined by removing defects such as lumps of the molten electrospun fiber, intersections of the molten electrospun fibers, and polymer droplets from a two-dimensional image observed by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Is arbitrarily selected, and the length when a line perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the fiber is drawn is taken as the fiber diameter, and the length in the longitudinal direction of the fiber is directly read as the fiber length.
The fiber obtained by the present invention can be used for various purposes as a molded body of a fiber in which it is accumulated. Examples of the shape of the molded body include a cotton-like body and a thread-like body in addition to the above-mentioned sheet. The fiber molded body may be used by laminating it with another sheet or by containing various liquids, fine particles, fibers and the like. Sheets of molten electrospun fibers can be used as long fibers and short fibers as textile products such as woven fabrics and non-woven fabrics. For example, human skin, teeth, gums, etc. for medical purposes, beauty purposes, decorative purposes and other non-medical purposes. It is suitably used as a sheet attached to the skin of non-human mammals, the skin of non-human mammals, teeth, gums, and the surface of plants such as branches and leaves. In addition to the above-mentioned applications, it can also be used for electromagnetic wave shielding materials, bioartificial equipment materials, IC chips, organic ELs, solar cells, electrochromic display elements, photoelectric conversion elements and the like.
Although the present invention has been described above based on the preferred embodiment, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to Examples. However, the scope of the present invention is not limited to such examples.

1g/min
[Evaluation 4: Measurement of charge amount]
The amount of charge (nC / g) when the melt of the composition for molten electric field spinning was charged was measured. The charge amount was measured using the charge
-Measurement environment: 27 ° C, 50% RH
-Applied voltage: -20kV
・ Resin discharge rate: 1 g / min
-Resin heating temperature: 190 ° C (tip of discharge nozzle)
・ Heating air temperature: 340 ℃
[Evaluation 5: Measurement of average fiber diameter]
The average fiber diameter and fiber length of the produced fibers were measured. Specifically, 10 fibers are arbitrarily selected from the two-dimensional image observed by a scanning electron microscope (SEM) excluding defects such as fiber lumps, fiber intersections, and polymer droplets, and are orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the fibers. The length when the line was drawn was measured by directly reading it as the fiber diameter, and the average value of these was taken as the average fiber diameter (nm). The results are shown in Table 1 below.
[Evaluation 6: Sheet density measurement]

As shown in Table 1, in each example containing the alkyl sulfonate in a suitable ratio of the present invention, the spinnability is better than in Comparative Examples 1 and 2 containing no alkyl sulfonate or having a low content. Therefore, it can be seen that fibers having a small fiber diameter can be produced by the molten electrospinning method. Further, each example containing an alkyl sulfonate in a suitable ratio of the present invention has the same spinnability as Comparative Examples 4 and 5 containing zinc stearate and stearic acid, but the molten electric field of each example. It can be seen that the density of the sheets produced from the spun fibers is lower than that of the sheets produced from Comparative Examples 4 and 5.
