Description
本発明は、インク、及びインクの製造方法に関する。 The present invention relates to ink and a method for producing ink.
産業用途に用いられる記録媒体は、紙に限定されておらず透明色のものから着色されているものまで幅広く用いられている。 Recording media used for industrial purposes are not limited to paper, but are widely used from transparent to colored media.
前記記録媒体の透明色又は着色は、前記記録媒体に白色を表現する場合やカラーインクで着色する場合には、前記記録媒体の色の影響を受けないようにするために、前記記録媒体の透明色又は着色を白色にて隠蔽する必要があることが望まれている。 The transparent color or coloring of the recording medium is transparent so that the recording medium is not affected by the color of the recording medium when white is expressed or colored with color ink. It is desired that the color or coloring needs to be concealed with white.
そのため、前記記録媒体の透明色又は着色を隠蔽するために、白色インクが用いられている。
前記白色インクには、色材として、屈折率が高く、白色度が出やすい酸化チタンが用いられている。
前記酸化チタンは、無機顔料であり、表面がイオン性を帯びているため水と馴染みやすく、水溶性顔料分散剤の吸着を促しやすく、水性インクに用いると分散しやすいという利点がある。
Therefore, white ink is used to conceal the transparent color or coloring of the recording medium.
Titanium oxide, which has a high refractive index and easily produces whiteness, is used as the coloring material in the white ink.
The titanium oxide is an inorganic pigment and has an advantage that it is easily compatible with water because its surface is ionic, easily promotes adsorption of a water-soluble pigment dispersant, and is easily dispersed when used in a water-based ink.
しかし、酸化チタンは、水に対して比重が大きいため沈降しやすく、インクジェットインクの粘度が小さいと沈降速度が速くなってしまい、数日間で分離が進んでしまうという問題がある。 However, titanium oxide has a large specific gravity with respect to water, so that it tends to settle, and if the viscosity of the inkjet ink is low, the settling speed becomes high, and there is a problem that separation proceeds within several days.
そこで、長期保存時の経時安定性に優れる、アルキレンビスメラミン誘導体を有機白色顔料として含有するインクジェット記録用水性インキ組成物が提案されている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。 Therefore, an aqueous ink composition for inkjet recording containing an alkylene bismelamine derivative as an organic white pigment, which is excellent in stability over time during long-term storage, has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
また、ビニルナフタレンとポリシロキサン構造を有する単量体を共重合してなる樹脂粒子、及び前記樹脂粒子を含有する分散液が提案されている(例えば、特許文献2参照)。 Further, a resin particle obtained by copolymerizing vinyl naphthalene and a monomer having a polysiloxane structure, and a dispersion liquid containing the resin particle have been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
本発明は、保存安定性に優れ、酸化チタンと同レベルの白色度が高い画像が得られるインクを提供することを目的とする。 An object of the present invention is to provide an ink having excellent storage stability and obtaining an image having a high degree of whiteness equivalent to that of titanium oxide.
前記課題を解決するための手段としての本発明のインクは、下記構造式(I)で表される構造単位を有する樹脂粒子と、水と、を含む。
本発明によると、保存安定性に優れ、酸化チタンと同レベルの白色度が高い画像が得られるインクを提供することができる。 According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an ink having excellent storage stability and obtaining an image having a high degree of whiteness at the same level as titanium oxide.
(ink)
The ink of the present invention contains resin particles having a structural unit represented by the following structural formula (I) and water, and resin particles other than the resin particles having the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I). Is preferably contained, and other components are further contained if necessary.
The ink of the present invention has a problem that it is difficult to realize a sufficient white color in the conventional water-based ink composition for inkjet recording because the refractive index of alkylbismelamine is 1.60 and the light scattering property is weak. It is based on the finding that there is.
Further, in the ink of the present invention, in the conventional resin particles and the dispersion liquid containing the resin particles, the refractive index of vinylnaphthalene is 1.69, which is sufficient to achieve white color, but in a non-polar solvent. It is based on the finding that it can be dispersed stably only with water, and when water is used as the dispersion medium, it aggregates and cannot be used as an aqueous ink.

前記構造式(I)で表される構造単位を有する樹脂粒子は、前記構造式(I)で表される構造単位を有し、更に必要に応じてその他の構造単位を有する。
前記構造式(I)で表される構造単位を有する樹脂粒子が、前記構造式(I)で表される構造単位を有することにより、インク中で沈降しにくく、前記インクを用いて形成した画像は、白色度に優れる。
<< Resin particles having a structural unit represented by the structural formula (I) >>
The resin particle having the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I) has the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I), and further has other structural units as required.
Since the resin particles having the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I) have the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I), they are less likely to settle in the ink, and the image formed by using the ink. Is excellent in whiteness.

In the structural formula (I), n represents an integer of 1 or more and 1,000 or less, preferably 100 or more and 800 or less.
It should be confirmed by using, for example, 1 1 H-NMR spectrum, IR spectrum, etc. that the resin particles having the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I) have the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I). Can be done.
As the 1 H-NMR spectrum, for example, 1 H-NMR (500 MHz) (manufactured by JEOL Ltd.) can be used for measurement.
As the IR spectrum, for example, FT-IR Spectrum GX (manufactured by PERKIN ELMER) or the like can be used for measurement.
前記構造式(I)で表される構造単位を構成する1−ビニルナフタレンは、屈折率が1.69と有機化合物の中では極めて高く、前記構造式(I)で表される構造単位を有する樹脂粒子の屈折率も同様に高くなる。そのため、前記樹脂粒子を含むインクは、白色インクとして機能することができる。 The 1-vinylnaphthalene constituting the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I) has a refractive index of 1.69, which is extremely high among the organic compounds, and has the structural unit represented by the structural formula (I). The refractive index of the resin particles also increases. Therefore, the ink containing the resin particles can function as a white ink.
