Description
The present invention relates to a method for producing a product roll produced by subjecting a long film to a vacuum process process, and a production apparatus for producing the product roll.
A roll-to-roll type vacuum apparatus is widely used in which a long film is unwound from a raw material roll, a predetermined vacuum process process is performed on the running film, and then the film is wound into a product roll. .. In the roll-to-roll type vacuum apparatus, not only the space where the vacuum process processing is performed but also each space where the raw material roll and the product roll are installed is maintained in a predetermined depressurized atmosphere. In a decompressed atmosphere, problems that do not occur under atmospheric pressure may occur.
For example, when the raw material roll is installed in a roll-to-roll type vacuum device under atmospheric pressure and then the space containing the raw material roll is depressurized, minute wrinkles and scratches are generated on the film wound on the raw material roll during the depressurization process. There is. Such wrinkles and scratches deteriorate the appearance quality of the product film obtained through the vacuum process treatment. The required characteristics for appearance quality have become stricter in recent years, and there is a strong demand for product films having high appearance quality.
An object of the present invention is to improve the appearance quality of a product film obtained by performing a vacuum process process by preventing minute wrinkles and scratches generated on the film in the process of depressurizing the space containing the raw material roll from atmospheric pressure. In the method for producing a product roll of the present invention, the film is unwound from a raw material roll in which a long film is wound in a roll shape, the film is subjected to a predetermined vacuum process process, and the vacuum process process is performed. A method for manufacturing a product roll in which the film is wound into a roll to obtain a product roll, and a lead film obtained by deriving the tip of the film wound around the raw material roll from a processing chamber for performing the vacuum process process. The pressure around the raw material roll is reduced from the atmospheric pressure atmosphere to a predetermined reduced pressure atmosphere in a state where the pressing member connected to the end portion of the raw material roll and extending in the width direction of the film is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the raw material roll. A step of separating the pressing member from the raw material roll under the reduced pressure atmosphere, and a step of feeding the film out of the raw material roll under the reduced pressure atmosphere and starting the vacuum process process on the film. It is characterized by performing in order.

A product roll manufacturing apparatus used to wind the film into a roll to obtain a product roll, the processing chamber in which the vacuum process processing is performed, the raw material roll chamber in which the raw material roll is installed, and the raw material roll chamber. A decompression device that decompresses the raw material roll chamber to a predetermined depressurizing atmosphere, and a pressing member that is installed in the raw material roll chamber and can be brought into contact with and detached from the outer peripheral surface of the raw material roll and that extends in the width direction of the film. The tip of the film wound around the raw material roll is connected to the end of the lead film led out from the processing chamber, and the pressing member is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the raw material roll. In this state, the depressurizing device decompresses the raw material roll chamber from the atmospheric pressure atmosphere to a predetermined depressurized atmosphere, then separates the pressing member from the raw material roll under the depressurized atmosphere, and then the depressurizing atmosphere. It is characterized in that the film is unwound from the raw material roll and the vacuum process process is started on the film.
According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent fine wrinkles and scratches from being generated on the film in the process of depressurizing the space including the raw material roll from the atmospheric pressure, so that the appearance quality of the product film wound on the product roll can be prevented.

The load locks 17 and 18 are not limited, but the
The number and arrangement of the guide rolls 23 and 24 are not limited to FIG. In FIG. 1, one guide roll is provided in each of the raw
The guide roll may be a so-called free roll (driven roll) that rotates by receiving traction from the traveling
The shape of the guide roll is not limited and can be appropriately selected from the viewpoint of stable transportation of the
When the
When the load locks 17 and 18 are closed, the
The procedure for replacing the
FIG. 2A shows one step of replacing the raw material roll. The door 21 (see FIG. 1) is opened, and the raw
As shown in FIG. 2B, the new
Next, the pressing
In this way, with the tip of the
In the conventional roll-to-roll type vacuum apparatus which does not have a member corresponding to the pressing
FIG. 3A shows a state immediately after connecting the tip end portion of the
In the state of FIG. 3A, the pressure in the raw material roll chamber in which the
The
FIG. 4A is a cross-sectional view showing a state immediately after the tip end portion of the
In the state of FIG. 4A, the pressure in the raw
However, as shown in FIG. 4C, the movement of air stops at the position of the pressing
After that, as shown in FIG. 4D, the pressing
As described above, in the
From the viewpoint of preventing the propagation of deformation, the pressing
When viewed along the central axis of the
The pressing
The pressing

It is preferable that the portion of the pressing
The pressing force of the pressing
The pressing of the pressing
When the
When the pressing

Hereinafter, the present invention will be specifically described with reference to Examples. However, the present invention is not limited to the following examples.
[Example 1]
An optical grade film 3000 m having a hard coat layer having a thickness of 5 μm formed on one side of an optical grade PET film having a width of 1 m and a thickness of 50 μm was wound into a roll with a tension of 100 N to obtain a raw material roll. In order to evaluate the presence or absence of unwinding due to decompression and the degree of unwinding, a line was drawn along the radial direction on the side surface of the film wound on the raw material roll with an oil-based pen. As the lead film, a PET film having a width of 1 m and a thickness of 50 μm was wound into a roll to form a lead film roll.
The lead film roll was installed in the raw
Next, the
Subsequently, the raw material roll was driven in the winding direction (opposite direction to the arrow R1 in FIG. 1) to apply a tension of 100 N to the film. In this state, the pressing
In this state, the
Subsequently, the film was unwound 100 m from the raw material roll and wound on the product roll. From the product roll, a 20 m film was taken from the above markings.
Finally, the appearance quality of the collected film was evaluated. Specifically, the number of scratches having a length of 200 μm or more was investigated using an LED light in a dark room over the entire area of the collected film having a length of 20 m. As a result, no scratches having a length of 200 μm or more were detected on the film having a length of 20 m.
[Example 2]
The same experiment as in Example 1 was performed except that the pressing member was changed to a urethane foam pad having a length of 1 m. The surface of the pressing member pressed against the raw material roll is a concave curved surface having the same radius of curvature as the outer peripheral surface of the raw material roll (see FIG. 5B).
As a result, the thickness of the unrolled region of the raw material roll after depressurizing the raw
[Comparative Example 1]
The same experiment as in Example 1 was performed except that the pressing member was not used.
As a result, the thickness of the unrolled region of the raw material roll after depressurizing the raw
[Comparative Example 2]
In Example 1, the same experiment as in Example 1 was carried out except that after pressing the pressing member against the raw material roll, the film was unwound from the raw material roll and wound around the product roll without being separated. The cylindrical roll-shaped pressing member rotated following the rotation of the raw material roll.
As a result, the thickness of the unrolled region of the raw material roll after depressurizing the raw
Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2 are summarized in Table 1.
From the comparison between Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Example 1, it can be seen that pressing the pressing member when the pressure of the raw material roll is reduced is effective in reducing scratches on the film wound around the product roll and improving the appearance quality.
Further, from the comparison between Example 1 and Comparative Example 2, it is possible to reduce the unwinding of the film due to the reduced pressure by feeding out the film while pressing the pressing member against the raw material roll, but the occurrence of scratches is sufficiently suppressed. I know I can't. The degree of scratches depends on the material of the film, etc., but when a film that is relatively susceptible to scratches is used as in the above embodiment, the film can be drawn out while pressing the pressing member. It will cause scratches. The above-mentioned
